Video Games Suppliers or Video Games Distributors For Business?

May 31, 2009 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment

Joaquin Reveron asked:

Video games suppliers were already doing business in the internet without video games distributors during the early years of the video game business in the internet. During those early years there were only two players in the video games business: the video games suppliers and the video games retailers. The video games retailers were only those who had website stores and sold video games to online clients supplied to them by suppliers.

Originally, suppliers of these video games were usually the marketing department of the company that made the video games. As the competition for the production of new video games and its marketing heated, affiliated companies involved in the manufacture of video games began to realize that they can save more if they just concentrate in video games production and let other middlemen do the marketing for them. A perfect example of leverage and delegation for sure!

This concept gave birth to the wholesale distributorship of video games. Soon, wholesale video games distributors were already the ones supplying the video games need of both the online and offline retail outlets.

With this set up, wholesale distributors will purchase from the video games suppliers or maker of the video games the finished products and will be the ones to distribute them to their respective retailer outlets at wholesale prices. Depending on their arrangement with suppliers, the cost of marketing tools like stickers, leaflets, posters and even TV and print media ads will either be shouldered by supplier or wholesale distributor.

Some knockout differences between the two and things you should know about how they conduct their business most of the time. In Terms of Ownership: Suppliers are usually the sales department of a firm engaged in the production or bulk distribution for some companies for video games.

Originally, they were supposed to be tasked the marketing and distribution of their products, but to save on cost, they are now mainly the servicing department for privately owned wholesale distributors who would purchase their products in bulk orders and distribute them to online and offline retailers at wholesale prices. Thus, suppliers are owned by the manufacturer of goods while distributors are privately owned firms that buy goods in bulk from the supplier.

In Terms of Function: In most cases, video games distributors have exclusive contracts with suppliers that would make distributors the only firm to market the video game products of their company. As such, suppliers will have only to sell direct to the wholesale distributors.

On the other hand, wholesale distributors will be the one who will function to market the products they bought from the suppliers. Their distribution of the video game products will include both online and offline retail.

In terms of effort, it is the wholesaler distributor who is tasked with the burden in making sure that the video games will be popular with players. But in terms of profit, he also has the most to gain because of the volume of transaction that he handles among the video game retailers that he supplies.

In a sense, video game distributors have the freedom to be retailers as an additional option to maximize profitability while video game suppliers would be more than happy seeing their products well marketed by video game distributors. So what is better for you may be the next question you may ask perhaps?

Wii Deals – How to Buy the Nintendo Wii at Wholesale Cost

May 28, 2009 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment

Michael Kohler asked:

One of the most amazing home entertainment video game systems ever created is the Nintendo Wii. No longer is the classic joystick or control paddle a necessary accessory. Like a magical wand, the hand held wireless high-tech remote control is able to detect movements in all directions while being held in the palm of your hand. Here are a few ways that you can save money when you purchase it and even get one at a wholesale price.

One of the main attractions of the Nintendo Wii is the amazing graphics and improved speed that accompanies this innovative game playing machine. Unlike its primitive predecessors, a person feels like they are physically participating in the action of the game itself opposed to being very good at interacting with buttons and knobs on your typical hand held game controller.

The unfortunate thing about this system is the price and its limited availability especially when it was first released. One of the ways that people were able to get access to this video game system was by accessing the right channels overseas and acquire one at wholesale cost.

One of the easiest ways to do this with any product is to create an importing business that represents the video game industry. You could start one by simply getting an online catalog to accept you as an affiliate ends begin marketing their products on your website. After a period of time, you could then contact companies overseas that are the middlemen for this product and have them send you one at wholesale cost.

A possible windfall is that many companies will send potential clients free merchandise, especially if they are trying to expand in the American marketplace. Although the Nintendo Wii does not fall into this category, you may get lucky and have one sent to you as a gesture of good faith. Make sure that when you establish your company that you are not merely doing this to get a free video game system. There are multitudes of laws that may preclude you from legitimately accepting any free merchandise if you are truly not in business to do so so be careful before venturing into this territory.

Otherwise, get your company’s name out to the many wholesale business directories and even e-mail several of them your self to get you on their new product list. After a period of time, once you have established a relationship with them, you will probably be sent new products on a regular basis and may even get so lucky as to acquire the latest Nintendo Wii.

Rent Video Game Online And Play All You Want!

May 27, 2009 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment

John Caskey asked:

Renting video games online is the single best way to try video games before you buy. Rent video game online services keep costs down: With many game prices starting at $30 and going as high as $50 and even higher, paying such high prices for video games that might be less than what you expected can be just too big a gamble. Even though gamers can view “walkthroughs” screen shots online, and other online game samples are available to take a look at how a game works, there is nothing like actual hands on playing to find out whether it’s something you will love, like or hate.

Just like movie rentals, video games are available to rent from many or most movie rental companies, along with some game stores and online as well. The big problem with renting form a local store, though, is that they rarely have a good selection, and it can be very expensive.

As a result, being able to rent video game online is making a big splash. Video game rental is the ultimate in convenience and cost savings. Video game rental means you don’t have to buy a game for $30 or more, but you can try games before buying to make sure it’s a game you want to keep. Just like services like NetFlix or Blockbuster’s movie service through the mail, game rental companies are springing up too.

For teens and older gamers, trying before buying can keep from spending hard-earned money on games that turn out to be duds. Gamers can try nearly every game that’s on the market. And many video game rental companies let you keep the game you want to buy at a discount.

As a parent, online video game rental can be a godsend. Even young gamers now have access to game systems like GameCube. If you have no idea about content of games or which games were any good, video game rental can be a great way to go. Renting games first, you are able to view games before allowing your children to play them, and find out if they are too frightening, or violent or otherwise not appropriate.

Even using the rating system set out by the gaming industry doesn’t always help. One mom explained it this way: “We had one game called Super Smash Brothers that was rated E-10+ meaning better for older kids over ten. But we felt it was fine -just cartoon violence. But another game rated E-10+, the X-Men game, was so violent and bloody that if we hadn’t been able to rent it first we would have been stuck with a game we were not going to let our son watch!” She saved about $50 in game purchasing costs by not having to buy!

The companies that let you rent video game online have incredible selections of games, and have them for every platform on the market – handheld game systems like the Game Boy or Nintendo DS, through GameCube, and the high end too like Xbox, Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. You have many games to choose from. It an be much cheaper than renting from the local store because you won’t pay late fees or shipping; just send back the games when you are through (and you can send back the game that are really terrible right away!) But best of all, many game services offer credits that add up as you continue your subscription. These credits can be applied toward buying games. When you find a game you like, you can usually just keep it and they will send you the box and inserts, with free shipping. In just one sample of purchase pricing, a game that retails for $50 could be purchased for $27 after applying credits and discounts – a really great deal all around!

For gamers that have multiple game systems, such as console as well as handheld, it helps to be able to choose games for short rental periods when going on vacation for example. Most of the time, games are available for all game platforms. For the games you want to rent, you can add them to a “queue” or list, and when one is returned, the next one is sent out. A money savings and less hassle too.

Rent video game online service is a great way to try out games before spending the ever-higher prices to buy them, and can even let you purchase a game at a discount. Take a free trial today – save cash and play all the games you’ve always wanted to try!

Leadership Development is Essential in our Lives

May 24, 2009 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Advice

Dr. Mario Barrett, Ph.D. asked:

I wish things were better in my life?

Why are things always going wrong for me?

Why can’t I get ahead?

Why can’t I be happy?

Is it me?

These are questions that most of us ask ourselves as we are going through the trials and tribulations of life. In our darkest hours, we can even convince ourselves that life (an inanimate concept) is against us and that there is no way out. Sadly, many of us succumb to the pressures of life and give in. When this occurs society is robbed of our possibility, meaning that the world may have lost a great doctor, brother, lawyer, friend, professor, pastor, sister, teacher, mother, nurse, father, the list goes on. Believing that we can’t realize our life’s purpose or calling tends to give rise to the depression, unhappiness, and dissatisfaction that many of us have in regards to our life. But there is hope, because while some of us give in to life’s pressures, others seem to access an inner strength and overcome. What is this inner strength? Do we all have it? If so, what do we need to do to access it?

Well, the truth is that we all have this inner strength, but at different levels. This inner strength is nothing more than our personal leadership, which provides us with the ability to shape and lead the direction of our lives. Some of you may be saying that this concept sounds too simplistic. Well, in theory maybe, but in practice not so. Developing one’s personal leadership so that one can lead his/her life is not an easy task, as it requires:

constant awareness of self, choices, and the impact of these choices on our lives and the world around us

life-long learning

intentional action

These behaviors among others serve as the basis for personal leadership development, but are often taken for granted as we deal with the everyday distractions that we allow to dominate our lives.

It may be a cliche, but life is really what you make it. Our life is truly what we create it to be, but we have to acknowledge and own that fact. There are people from around the world who have overcome horrible conditions and great tragedies to become huge contributors to society, former US President Abraham Lincoln (extreme poverty) and former South African President Nelson Mandela (jailed for over two decades), come to mind.

Conditions such as poverty and abuse can either be hurdles for us to overcome or roadblocks that stop us dead in our tracks. Whichever it becomes, realize that we chose (consciously or subconsciously) based on our level of personal leadership. For example, my personal leadership led me to overcome the poverty hurdle of my childhood, however the same can’t be said for many of my peers who are still immersed in this reality. My personal leadership has taken me further, as it has led to me taking a stand against the ill-conceived perception of powerlessness by the downtrodden and for the empowerment of all who desire to live a life they love. In addition, my personal leadership has led to the answering of my life’s purpose or calling. In doing so, I no longer succumb to the everyday pressures of life, which is a very powerful feeling. Do you know what your life’s purpose or calling is? Do you know what is preventing you from accessing it?

Every moment of our life, even in our sleep, we are being bombarded with different stimuli that can distract us from aligning ourselves with our life’s purpose or calling. However, it is this very purpose or calling that is essential to our well-being and happiness, as this is what we are trying to fulfill during our stay on earth. Understand, that everything in life has a purpose, from the spider’s web to the sun’s rays, to the air we breathe and the water we drink. Everything has a purpose. However, because of human being’s propensity to think, create, and be influenced by the world around us, we are often distracted from our purpose or calling by the (intentional or unintentional) stimuli of the world we live in. These distractions can come in the form of engaging in over indulgences such as materialism, food, television, or the opposite sex. They can also come in the form of being overly concerned with the lives of others for no other reason than to gossip or to control, using mind altering drugs, or being complacent or lazy. There are so many more distractions that we could talk about, but the point is that they all have the ability to throw us out of alignment with our life’s purpose and calling, leaving us confused, upset, depressed, and unhappy.

The first step to personal leadership development is acknowledging that you have the greatest impact on the realization of your life’s vision. By accessing and developing your personal leadership you will begin to identify who you are, who you want to be, and what you need to do to make the transition to the life that you want to live. By focusing on what you need to do to live the life you want, you will be forced to identify and dismiss distractions that do not serve your purpose. However, living the life that you want to live does not mean that you will live a perfect life, no one does.

Leading your life is not about judging the “politically correctness of you life” or trying to live a life that does not offend anyone. When Dr. King was leading his marches, there were many in the black community that believed his purpose and tactics were wrong. Nevertheless, he continued to follow his calling, which led to the shifting of a nation’s thinking and behavior. Leadership is not about right or wrong. It is about doing what is necessary to achieve your desired outcomes as long as you are not destroying others in the process. Be sure that no matter what you do in life, someone will be upset with what you are doing. For all his great works, Dr. King was still assassinated by someone who did not share his vision.

Remember those outside stimuli I mentioned earlier? They tend to have a vested interest in shaping your beliefs and actions around right and wrong or what’s “correct” in order to serve their purposes and not your own (consciously or subconsciously/intentionally or unintentionally based on their background and beliefs). Whether it be a company selling a product, or a friend giving relationship advice, always be conscious of that.

Accessing and developing your personal leadership helps you access and manipulate what works and what does not work in your life as you align yourself with your life’s calling. By analyzing what is not working and then discarding those practices and behaviors, you will be able to replace them with more productive practices and behaviors that will begin to transform your life for the better. As you utilize this process over time, it will become part of who you are, allowing you to seamlessly manipulate your choices, thinking, and behavior so that you can live the life that you were put here to live, creating sustainable happiness, peace, joy , and prosperity.

Personal leadership development is essential for our lives, as it is our lives that give rise to the successes and failures of our families, communities, organizations, nations, and world.

Mark Robbins asked:

Microsoft has tried to catch up with some of the titans of the gaming world, such as Sony with the release of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 offers many new features that players will love:

Free limited subscription to online gaming – This allows players who have not been participating in online gaming a chance to see what is available at no charge. All Xbox 360s come with Live-aware – This means you can get a friend invite or see who is online and what they are playing from your Xbox 360. The button in the middle of the controller makes all this very easy.

It offers great media features including listening to music while you play games, the ability to create custom playlists and your own custom soundtracks, the ability to rip songs from original CDs to your Xbox 360 and stream music from your MP3 player to your Xbox 360. You can also create slideshows of photos to share with friends and family. Xbox 360 has a wireless controller. No more tripping over the wires, although it can support two wired controllers through USB ports in the front. The game console is not only great for gamers, but developers as well. It is a powerful machine with an unprecedented amount of RAM – a feature added on the request of developers.

But, Xbox 360 still has some problems that need to be worked out:

Their Japanese third party support is lacking – While some Japanese developers offer software for the Xbox, it is small in number when compared to what the same developers offer for Playstation. While the controller is wireless, it eats batteries rather quickly. Standard alkaline batteries only last about thirty hours, so if you buy Xbox 360, invest in rechargeable batteries to save yourself some money in the end. When they were set up in WalMart stores before days before the launch, many suffered what is known as the Xbox “360 screen of death,” an error screen. The Xbox 360 had also had some problems with overheating. Some report the Xbox 360 system as being very noisy when playing an Xbox 360 disc.

Many people are eagerly awaiting the release of Playstation 3, which may occur as soon as November of this year. It has been said that the Playstation 3 has an outward feel (which allows it to stand vertically or horizontally on its own), as opposed to the Xbox 360’s inward feel. It is a much larger console than the Playstation 2 and closer to the original size of the Xbox. Game discs slide into the console like CDs slide into a car player.

Here are a few attractive features of the Playstation 3:

It is always on, so you can access your Playstation 3 from anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection. With a Playstation Portable, you can connect to your Playstation 3 and transfer media such as music and movies. The Playstation 3 appears to be much more powerful than that Xbox 360, Ninetindo Revolution, and Playstation 2. Initial reports say it will be twice as fast as the Xbox 360. Developers and publishers of over 230 games have announced titles for Playstation 3 games.

Here are a few reported cons and problems with the Playstation 360:

Comes with only 256 MB, less than the 512 MB the Xbox 360 will come with. Their Playstation Network Platform (the online service) is still in development and may not be ready by the time Playstation 3 is released.

The launch of the Playstation 3 has already been delayed due to disk problems.

Both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are incredible gaming consoles. It seems that although the Xbox 360 came out first, the best bet is still the Playstation 3. The strongest point of the Xbox 360 is its online functionality, but Sony may be working on something similar to Xbox Live right now. However, Microsoft is closing the gap with Xbox 360 and probably will eventually catch up with Sony in gaming consoles. For some users, it may come down to something as simple as which one is more compatible with the games they already own.

Are you looking to download free games to play on your PS3, Xbox 360, or Nintendo Wii? If you are then you have found a great place to start downloading. First, you should know a couple of things before you start downloading free games.

There are websites available that are free of cost where you can download and play games. There are a few problems with these websites though. Some of these sites allow you to download games for free but they often have spyware or viruses in the files. This is not a good thing for you or your computer.  The last thing you want is to be searching for downloads one minute and then the next minute have you computer be disabled because you accidentally downloaded a virus.

The other problem with with these sites is that they can be extremely slow to download games. There is an answer to these problems though. They are called paid free download sites. They work extremely well.

With these download sites you can be certain that the downloads will be legal.  Some sites are not legitimate and they could cause you alot of trouble if you start downloading hundreds of games without the consent of the game owners.

So, whether you want to download free ps3 games, download free xbox 360 games, or download free wii games, you will have the most succcess with paid free download sites. Here is the best site I found after reviewing a countless amount of download sites. Download games and get a free ps3 tips guide.

Jane Calhoun asked:

Video game rental is the single best way to try video games before you buy. With many game prices starting at $30 and going as high as $50 and even higher, paying such high prices for video games that might be less than what you expected can be just too big a gamble.

While it’s true that gamers can view “walkthroughs” screen shots online, and other online game samples are available to take a look at how a game works, there is nothing like actual hands on playing to find out whether it’s something you will love, like or hate.

Especially with games for new game platforms exceeding $50, renting games can be a good alternative.

The companies that let you rent video game online have incredible selections of games, and have them for every platform on the market – handheld game systems like the Game Boy or Nintendo DS, through GameCube, and the high end too like Xbox, Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. For gamers that have multiple game systems, such as console as well as handheld, it helps to be able to choose games for short rental periods when going on vacation for example. For the games you want to rent, you can add them to a “queue” or list, and when one is returned, the next one is sent out.

But best of all, many game services offer credits that add up as you continue your subscription. These credits can be applied toward buying games. When you find a game you like, you can usually just keep it and they will send you the box and inserts, with free shipping. In just one sample of purchase pricing, a game that retails for $50 could be purchased for $27 after applying credits and discounts – a really great deal all around!

Video game rental is a great way to try out games before spending the ever-higher prices to buy them, and can even let you purchase a game at a discount. Many online video rental companies offer a free trial – it’s worth it to see if it is right for you.

Video Games And Your Child

Taisha Grant asked:

There are video games that can be played on multimedia consoles in the home, or on a home personal computer system. The formats of these video games may be rated for an entire family to view, or the video games may be labeled strictly for play by people over the age of 21. These Mature rated video games contain graphic violence, and may contain lewd language and graphic content.

Before a parent invests more than $30 on any given video games collection, they may choose to rent several video games for their child to play to see which ones are a true delight, and which video games will be ignored after just a short time. Some video games are offered in collector’s series in decorative tins, and are cherished by all children who view them as a status symbol.

Many children think that their popularity at school is based on the number of video games that are in their collection, and the number of multimedia entertainment consoles they have in their home. There are several handheld models that are viewed as very desirable for youngsters because of their portability and compact features.

Many of the video games for the handheld game consoles require daily interaction with pets, and failure to participate on a day-to-day basis might cause people to move out of town because nobody is interested in them. This form of game play teaches children to keep appointments and remind them that there are people in the world that do count on them on a day-to-day basis.

The imaginary friends that some video games feature can make up for friends and pals that a child does not have in their real life. Children learn to repair their own self-esteem by making contributions to the games that are truly unique for their character. A gift of a fish is a big thing in some hand held games, and the gift of a new dresser can brighten a young girl day better than blue sky and rays of sunshine could ever hope to accomplish.

The competitive spirit of children learning to adapt in the real world, can be safely contained within the small cubicles of visual space provided in many handheld game console models. Children can use video games to teach themselves how to play basketball, football, and learn what it takes to be a competitor in a World Series Playoff.

As a child progresses through many experience levels in video games, their characters are not the only ones that grow strong. Children learn to make quick decisions, and manipulate screen data to make shots that are typical of a seasoned football or basketball player at a college or university level school.

These athletic achievements might seem quite small and insignificant to an adult, and generally are. Until the parents take the time to try and maneuver through course after course, they do not actually realize how hard some of those movements are, and think that many of the moves are unattainable. Savvy game players will quickly add salt to the wound. Parents must sit back quietly while their children beat them soundly with very few moves required in the entire game process.

I just got my xbox 360 back after waiting five weeks, and I was wondering what do they really do to your 360 when you get the red rings of death? That, and why does it take so long for you to get it back? Doesn’t it only take about 2 hours to fix it(atleast thats what I heard). I also live in Arizona, which isn’t that far from Texas.

Guitar Hero 2 For The Sony Playstation 2 (PS2)

Jason Denszar asked:

An estimated 75, 000 people are packed together in one giant venue, all of them screaming your band’s name in unison. The lights dim and you make your last-minute preparation before you finally hit the stage to render your fans some of your greatest hits. You slid the guitar over your shoulder and the crowd’s energy got you all pumped up. No, this isn’t one of many young people’s ultimate fantasy come true. But this could just be the next best thing.

This is RedOctane’s sequel to the astoundingly popular series of the PS2 game, Guitar Hero. In Early 2006, the first Guitar Hero was released which allowed you to plug in a Gibson copy guitar into your PS2 so you can rock like one of the music industry’s legends.

The basic premise of this game is that you plug in your guitar controller that has 5 colored fret buttons and strummer into your unit. Then notes of your chosen rock song will appear on the screen, so you can start strumming your way with the song.

Just like a sequel is supposed to be, RedOctane and Harmonix have enhanced the features of this game. The difficulty mode has been upgraded with 2 new and practical additions: the Co-op mode and the Practice mode.

The new Co-op mode makes this game even more fun as you get to play with a friend wherein one of you play the lead guitar, and the other takes up either the rhythm or bass, depending on the song you’ve selected. Since everything is split between the two players, this mode requires the two of you to work together in building up your score meter. If you want to use the Star Power, simply tilt your guitar at the same time. As you go along, each of your scores will be tallied together thus increasing you star power meter.

Perfecting this game and the songs is now possible with the addition of a Practice mode. For this mode, you can choose to adjust the speed in 3 varying degrees: slow, slower, and slowest. This will enable you to figure out the notes of a song as the parts of the song are sectioned out. You can choose to practice on certain parts of a song where you fail miserably.

The practice mode, however, works best to enhancing your technique rather than speed. This will help you figure out how you should attack a song and perfect the notes.

And with the multiplayer mode, 2 players get to compete playing the same song all the way through. Talk about taking this rocking game experience to the next level! This game is indeed your next best vehicle to being part of a real band.

As compared to the first Guitar Hero, the song list for this one has been upgraded for you to have more choices. There is always something for everyone’s liking whether you’re into Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, Franz Ferdinand, Motorhead, and even some of today’s Emo selection.

So if you haven’t purchased one of these yet, you better grab one and be on your way to experiencing music and gaming like never before.
