Is The XBOX 360 Right For You?
Admittedly the specs of the upcoming XBOX 360 are fabulous and enticing especially to those comparing the look of games on the older XBOX with current spec PC gaming platforms.
Aside from the raw specs of a 12x dual-layer DVD-ROM drive, an IBM CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz and a high definition capable graphics system from ATI, the XBOX 360 is also much smaller than its predecessor. Measuring only 3.3 x 12.2 x 10.2 and weighing in at 7.7 pounds, the XBOX 360 has a more living room friendly stature.
One of the most anticipated features is that of the ATI graphics capabilities for high definition output. For those with suitable displays the XBOX 360 will support 720p and 1080i and importantly, the games will take this into account also.
The DVD-ROM drive not only plays the game media but also allows the showing of non interlaced DVD movies. The new XBOX will save media and game information on separately sold detachable hard drives and flash memory units. The hard drive will also make the XBOX 360 backwardly compatible with some of the older XBOX library.
XBOX 360 uses a new button layout for its controllers. The black and white buttons of the first XBOX controllers have been replaced with new shoulder buttons placed above the left and right triggers. The controllers are now wireless and the XBOX 360 can accept up to four of them or three via USB 2.0 ports.
Without networking the XBOX 360 would be a dead duck. An Ethernet port allows connectivity to the new XBOX Live Silver. The included service lets anyone create a Gamertag and gamer card to express your online identity, chat live with voice chat, and connect to the XBOX Live Marketplace to buy expansions, maps, and other digital goodies for your games.
Considering the specs and possibility of 20 launch titles including Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3, it seems the XBOX 360 will be a must buy. Before you do however, take a look at the Playstation 3. Or just get both of them!

The Wii is only about a year old, the games are ssbb, mario party 8, and cooking mama. All four controllers are fine, but one of the battery covers is missing. How much should I sell this for on ebay?
How to Wii
Who hasn’t heard of the Wii? The game console that people are just waiting to get their hands on. The Wii is being used in all phases of society from family homes, sporting centers, and even senior homes. The way the Wii is played encourages physical activity that appeals to all generations. Generations are coming together over the versatility and playability of the Wii system. Just about everyone, no matter what their age, is able to find a Wii activity to enjoy.
Nintendo truly deserves to be congratulated for their creation of the Wii. Game consoles have been around for years serving as a means of entertainment for families. Throughout the years, the game systems get bigger and better with visual effects that seem real to life. However, until the Wii most video game consoles were used in primarily the same way, with a joystick in your hands. You sat in your comfortable chair and used your controller to play the games you enjoyed. This inactivity was definitely a contributing factor to weight gain. The Wii brought about a shift to this style of gaming and developed a solution to the normal inactivity associated with gaming. With interactive games, the Wii has come up with an answer to the sedentary days of video game playing.

So how does the Wii do this? The Wii gaming system has come up with a specialized controller that lets you act out the actions in a game. Image you are at a bowling alley enjoying a game of bowling. With the Wii, you can do the same thing in your own home. Bowling on the Wii requires that you move your legs and arms in the same fashion that you would if you were actually bowling. Once you go through your approach and release motions, you watch as the ball rolls down the alley on your television screen and hits the pins at the end of the lane, unless of course you’ve thrown a gutter ball. The interactive play of the Wii encourages you to keep fit and it adds an element of fun and excitement to the gaming world that was missing.
Does this mean that all Wii games require physical activity? No, the Wii system does have several games that are just like most other gaming consoles that require you to sit in your favorite place and play without much body movement at all, as you just have to work the controller. The games that Wii has designed with activity and fitness in mind include games such as Wii Fit, golf, tennis, and bowling. This gaming flexibility also adds to the appeal of the Wii system for many people and generations because there are activity options for every gaming interest level.
The Wii is a great alternative for those that enjoy gaming, but also want to be more health conscious. Studies have shown that playing a game of tennis on the Wii console can burn 100 calories in a 30 minute period. You can be sure that you won’t be burning that many calories just sitting on your couch with a controller in your hand.
When thinking about the obesity problem plaguing our nation, the Wii is a gaming option that helps to encourage physical activity. Children that enjoy staying indoors and playing games can now do so while getting some exercise. An intense 30-45 minute game of interactive Wii play can be comparable to the 30 minutes of exercise recommended by experts to impact your fitness. The Wii system is a great alternative to the other sedentary based systems. What could be better than being able to participate in something you like while at the same time being a bit more fit while doing it?

Considering Buying An Xbox 360?
The Apple XBox 360 is generally considered to be the big cheese when it comes to home video game systems. And why shouldn’t it be? The XBox 360 is a popular video game player on the market, and Microsoft is continually updating, upgrading and offering more accessories and products for their device than any other manufacturer out there today.
However, even though the XBox 360 is the world’s most popular video game system, that doesn’t mean that you should simply run out to your nearest electronic goods retailer and pick up the first XBox 360 that you see. As with any vital purchase decision, research is the key to making an informed buying choice.
Even though the XBox 360 enjoys unparallel popularity, there are certain things that you should bear in mind before you ultimately purchase your XBox 360:
•IS THE XBox 360 RIGHT FOR ME
There’s the original XBox, the XBox 360, and the Xbox Online too. Each variation of the Xbox or Xbox 360 has different features and functions than the other. And while the new XBox 360 should be easy to locate in a wide range of stores, other versions might be difficult to locate if they are discontinued or sold out. You should definitely research exactly which XBox you want before you purchase it.
•DO I WANT ACCESSORIES
You can easily purchase a simple XBox 360 for your pleasure, but you’ll then have to consider where you will use your XBox 360 and how you’ll use it. Will you just keep it with you at home for playing? Will you take it with you to a friend’s house, or even work and school? For each use of the XBox 360, there are many accessories that you can purchase to store and protect your device. You will have to ask yourself if you are willing to spend the extra money for the wide range of XBox 360 accessories that Microsoft has to offer.
•HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH FOR ME
Are you a video game fanatic, playing everything your eyes can possibly take all the time? Or do you have a limited amount of games that you absolutely love? If you’re the former, then you will want to get an XBox 360 with the greatest memory capacity that you can afford. The larger the memory capacities, the more games you can download, store and play on your Xbox. But, if you are the latter, then you won’t need to spend so much on an XBox 360, as you will not require an exceptionally large memory capacity.
•ASK WHAT YOUR XBox 360 CAN DO FOR YOU
We all know that the XBox 360 is great for playing games and movies. However, XBox 360s can be much more than simple video game system. Your XBox 360 can connect you online to the world if you want. You can shop for Microsoft and Xbox 360 items right from your console if you want. If you want your XBox 360 to be everything you need, then you should expect to shell out extra money for it. However, if you just want your XBox 360 to play games and nothing else, then you won’t have to spend as much money.
No matter what kind of XBox 360 you get or how you plan on using it, you should do a bit of research before you make that purchase. It’s never a good thing when you buy something you don’t really need, or when you purchase something that does not meet your needs and expectations. However, when armed with knowledge, you will be certain to purchase the right XBox 360 for you.

Is the investment in the Wii a worthwhile one?
I have carefully been contemplating on what new next-generation console I had wanted to buy. I do want to get all three consoles. But there was this question I needed to ask: Which console do I buy first? There is the Nintendo Wii, the Playstation 3, and the Xbox 360. All three are formidable gaming consoles in their own right.
But the consoles are very pricey.
I carefully thought about which console I should get first. Each of these consoles would be an investment. They would be three individual investments.
Of all the three, I decided that I would get the Nintendo Wii first. So far, I felt that it would be a very worthwhile investment. I saw that Nintendo Wii has numerous capabilities present in neither the Playstation 3 nor the Xbox 360. The Wii has free online play provided that you have access to a high-speed Internet connection. The most important thing would be its price tag. The Nintendo Wii is far cheaper than the Playstation 3.

You can get a Nintendo Wii for between $150 and $250. You would have to pay between $400 and $500 for the Playstation 3. The difference in cost of consoles was the one thing that ended up hurting Sony. I would say that I would only have to pay less while I get more in return. When you look at the price tag, it is not really that bad. You could get a Nintendo Wii for a lower price off of eBay.
I can sell off my Nintendo Gamecube when I get the Nintendo Wii. The Nintendo Wii is backward compatible with the Nintendo Gamecube.
It means I can play my Gamecube games on the Nintendo Wii. I would not be able to do the same thing on an Xbox 360. If I got an Xbox 360, I would have to keep my old Xbox. This is another reason I would consider the Nintendo Wii as a worthwhile investment.
The Nintendo Wii has something else that neither the Xbox 360 nor the Playstation 3 has: the ability to download twenty years worth of games. You can download games for just about every Nintendo game system up until the release of the Nintendo DS. It means you can download games for the: NES, SNES, Virtual Boy, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Super Famicom, and the Game Boy Advance. That is reason enough to consider the Nintendo Wii as a worthwhile investment.
Also, the Nintendo Wii can be used as a fitness tool. So far, the popular rhythm n' dance game "Dance Dance Revolution" is now available for the Nintendo Wii. You can get your daily cardio-respiratory exercise each day by playing a few rounds of Dance Dance Revolution.
There is also the release of the Wii Fit. This is a game that is focused on actual physical exercise. As an exercise tool, it sure beats having to pay an expensive monthly membership to the gym. It also beats having to be out in the hot sun in which you can get a nasty case of sunburn.
If you really think about it, you are getting more than your money is worth by investing in a Nintendo Wii.
The Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 has yet to follow suit. It may take awhile before both Sony and Microsoft will follow after Nintendo.
For the 2D fighting game fans, getting a Nintendo Wii is a good investment. It was announced that there would be no more 2D fighting games being ported to any of the Playstation game consoles. If you like fighting games in general, you should invest in a Wii.
"Tatsunoko vs. Capcom" and "Street Fighter IV" are being ported to the Nintendo Wii.

Best Buy Nintendo Wii
Nintendo WII Accessories Make Your WII A Complete Gaming System

So you have decided to purchase the hottest new thing in video gaming; the Nintendo Wii. When you purchase your Wii system you will have everything you need to plug in and start playing, including Wii Sports, a game that provides a great way to learn how to use the Wii system’s revolutionary, motion sensing, controllers. However, the Nintendo Wii does not include everything you need to maximize your gaming experience, and that is why there are several must-have Nintendo Wii accessories.
The Nintendo Wii comes with one remote controller – the Wiimote – and one Nunchuk, which is a motion sensing analog controller that attaches to the wireless Wiimote. If you want to enjoy the head-to-head action of the great games included with Wii Sports, then the first of the Nintendo Wii accessories that you should consider is an extra controller. The Wii can accommodate four controllers, so fitting a second into the system is not a problem.
The Nintendo Wii is compatible not only with games designed for the Wii, but for Nintendo GameCube titles as well. If you do not have a GameCube controller already – your existing GameCube controllers are compatible – then one of the more useful Nintendo Wii accessories is a GameCube controller. Not only will that allow you to play a wider variety of games, you can also play the classic games that are downloadable to your Wii system. However, you need more than the GameCube controller to fully replicate the features of the GameCube games. Without a GameCube memory card, your progress through many of the games will be lost each time you shut down your Wii. A GameCube memory card will allow you to save your progress and play at your leisure. Again, if you have existing GameCube memory cards they are compatible with the Wii.
Speaking of classic Nintendo games, the Wii system’s Internet capabilities make it possible to download those classic games of Nintendo’s past. Downloads are not free, however, and Wii Points are the currency of choice. Therefore, one of the more useful Nintendo Wii accessories is a prepaid Wii Points card that will allow you to easily browse and purchase many of your favorite games from all of the Nintendo predecessors. However, if you plan to purchase many of these classic games it is only a matter of time before you fill the 512mb memory of your Wii system. Purchase a 1 gigabyte SD memory card and you will have all the room you need with plenty to spare!
In order to take advantage of the game downloading abilities, as well as other aspects of the Wii system’s menu functions, you need access to the Internet. That makes the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector one of the most important Nintendo Wii accessories. With wireless Internet access in place, you can use your Wii to play games, surf the Web, and coming soon: head to head virtual play!
All of these Nintendo Wii accessories add up to form an impressive array of gaming and entertainment capabilities, but without a component video adapter the picture quality of the Wii might fail to reach its potential, especially if you have a High Definition television. With the adapter in place you will enjoy a crystal clear picture which will enhance your Wii - and your Nintendo Wii accessories - so much more. And one more thing: invest in some rechargeable batteries in order to keep those wireless remote controls at peak performance!
Video game reviews: Mario Party 8 (WII)
Mario Party debuted on the Nintendo 64 back in 1999. Introducing Mario and Nintendo to the party board business. Fast forward nine years and Mario Party is still alive and kicking. This eight edition is proof of the franchise's success and popularity.
Once again Mario, along with friends and foes, bring you a slew of mini-games filled with good times with good friends. Travel through a virtual board game with your favorite Nintendo characters. All in an attempt to collect the most starts and declare yourself champ. You will then be able to gloriously flaunt you new title, as your friends curse how unresponsive the Wii controls are.
And your friends may actually have a valid point this time. (So please stop them before the become enraged and send your Wii flying across the room) Some mini-games are extremely frustrating to control. An impossible game of go-kart racing (dear lord please do not let Mario Kart for the Wii be anything like this) had me cursing the invention of video games.
Although there is an abundance of mini-games there are only 5 different boards to choose from, and unfortunate occurrence.
Games are customizable allowing for gamers to set the length and objectives of the game.
Multi-player is the main of appeal of Mario Party 8, as it has always been. Yet in today's world of internet and online gaming it is disappointing that Nintendo failed to include and online multi-player mode.
Up to 4 players can play at once, another set back in the games multi-player mode. Obviously Nintendo does not have the "more the merry" attitude.
Game play is often interrupted by an annoying announcer that is constantly slowing down your game. Off with his head I say.
Game Play Score: 7/10
Certain mini-games become frustrating with unresponsive controls that seem to do nothing you want them to.
Graphics Score: 8/10
Mario Party 8 comes to you in 480p (Nintendo Wii's highest video output) along with 16:9 wide-screen. The game looks pretty awesome with crisp colors and animation.
Audio Score: 7/10
My only complaint with the audio is this game is the annoyance of the announcer. Constantly popping up when he's not wanted. Even though, he is mute, he still finds a way to make the most awkward of sounds.
Creativity/Innovation Score: 6/10
Most of the mini-games are previous Mario Party mini-games that have been remade to accommodate Wii controls.
Replay Value Score: 8/10
With a large library of mini-games it's a doubt you and your friends won't want grow tired of this game. As long as some bad controls don't bother you.
Final Score:7/10
Basically Mario Party 7 with Wii controls proves to be mildly entertaining. However, being the only real big "family game night" type of game Mario Party 8 is still a solid choice for you and your family to enjoy
If you like Mario Party consider adding games like Wario Ware: Smooth Moves or Super Monkey Ball Blitz to your game library.

Xbox 360 Repair – Find Out Why you May Need Xbox 360 Repair Here!
If you are an owner of an Xbox 360 or just like consoles and gaming in general then you have probably already seen all the fuss about Xbox 360 Repair.
It seems that every man and his dog with an Xbox 360 have at one time encountered problems with the Xbox 360. One of the most common problems with the Xbox 360 is the 3 red lights error and this is caused by the Xbox overheating and the motherboard takes to much heat so begins to warp and bend thus causing the problem.
There is also a lot of debate as to whether you can perform Xbox 360 Repair yourself and do a DIY fix to get your broken console up and running again.
Well there are certainly a lot of guides out there that say this is possible and since the same thing happened to me I decided to invest in one of these Xbox 360 Repair guides and the first thing I noticed is that it does involve opening up your console.
So if you are still in warranty it might be a good idea to just send the broken Xbox back to Microsoft as they are offering free repairs.
Anyway I worked my way through the Xbox 360 Repair guide that I found and must admit it was quite easy to follow and it took me about an hour to adopt the fix.
When I turned on my console the fix had actually worked and without saying to much about the guide it works by taking the heat away from the motherboard and the chips which in turn stops the freezes.
If you really can’t wait 4-6 weeks for repair then I would say do a search for Xbox 360 Repair and sift through all the guides that claim to tell you how to fix your Xbox and make sure they have a guarantee before you buy!

My mom and sister are annoyed by the face that wii fit will tell them their weight as soon as they step onto the whatever-its-called. How can I turn this off so that it won’t tell us our weight anymore?
The Xbox 360 Information Online
At one of the gaming industries events in Amsterdam, the industry felt that Microsoft would use the event to announce the Xbox 360 games lineup for its release in North America and Europe. The problem with that is it didn't happen. In its place is more confusion on what Xbox 360 games that will be available.
Peter Moore the corporate vice president of Xbox marketing and publishing bragged that there were 200 Xbox 360 games in development at the time. At the same time Chief Xbox officer Robbie Bach just promised they would have the best games and launch lineup of any console yet. But neither would list all the games that will go on sale in November of that year at the launch of the Xbox 360 in the United States.
Now to add to the confusion is a Microsoft press release titled "Xbox 360 launch line-up announced". It has only three first party games listed under a heading a heading of Titles that will form part of an impressive Christmas holiday portfolio. Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero and Kameio Elements of Power. Then they have a second category of games called "Other great games" announced or shown at X05 that included FIFA 06, Saints Row, Too Human, Crackdown, just to name a few.

The finally the release listed a third category, "Franchise titles that will make their debut on Xbox 360" this included Superman Returns: The Videogame, Call of Duty 2, Tom Clancys Splinter Cell 4 and more. Now the fact that about half of these have 2006 release dates and some were just announced it would be impossible for the game to be contained in the Xbox 360 launch lineup as the title indicates.
A effort to clear up the confusion David Reid, director of platform marketing for the Xbox 360 was asked exactly what games would be available at the launch. He stated there would be 15-20 Xbox 360 titles available on launch day and another halfdozen by the end of the year. So more double speak? He would only confirm eight being available on November 22. They are Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, Need for Speed Most Wanted, and FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup.
As for the other seven to twelve Xbox 360 games that were to be available, Reid stated they would be announced in the next few weeks. According to him "They are currently in the final stages of certification" this is referring to the quality assurance process all third party games must go through from each console maker. With that said it would be likely if any of the submitted games that were not mentioned did not pass this process it will not be available at the time of Xbox 360 release on November 22 in North America.
The decision to rush games is a two headed sword. On one hand, release dates are made for a reason: to take advantage of a holiday sales season. On the other hand, thanks to word of mouth and game sites the gamer of today can tell if a game was rushed and a games reputation can be destroyed faster than it was built. In the Xbox 360's case there has been an extreme amount of pre release publicity and hype, which will make or break the success of the console and games themselves.
Three of the games that were verified to be available on release date are Microsoft titles and they would have an advantage. But none of the twelve titles are make or break titles for the Xbox 360 so the console should be spared, and hopefully PS3 will have the same launch questions.
As with any Microsoft release the Xbox 360 is shrouded in rumor, speculation, and expectation. Microsoft fuels this by being very closed mouth with any specific information. It looks like right now we can just sit and wait.

Where to Find Nintendo Wii Consoles in Stock – Nintendo Wii Consoles Available Now

I have been around video gaming for quite some time and I have probably owned about every system that has come out on the market. Ever since I first played the Nintendo Wii, however, I realized that there was a lot more to enjoying videogames than simply sitting on the couch with a controller in my hand. I knew from that very moment that I had to own one of these game systems but unfortunately, it is very difficult to find the Nintendo Wii console in stock.
Often, people spend an entire night standing outside of the store, waiting for it to open in order to get their new Nintendo. There really is not a need for you to do this because if you know how to use the Internet, it is easy to find a Nintendo Wii console in stock. All you really need to do is to know which websites to look on and you can easily find one. I wish I would've thought of this whenever I first decided to get the game because the first console that I bought cost me an entire night and I ended up catching a cold for my trouble.
Instead of sitting outside of the store, spending an entire night to see if they have a Nintendo Wii console in stock for you or not, simply surf over to a Wii website and you will find one easily. After I ended up giving my first game to my little nephew, I decided that I would not spend any more time outside of the store. I ordered it online and had it in just a few days.
The best site I've found for getting a Nintendo Wii Console in Stock is http://wiiconsolesandmore.com - They always have Wii consoles for sale and can ship within a few days. Check them out today and get your Wii console.
Game reviews: Wii Sports
Returning a volley, hitting a home run, or throw a knock out punch. Until recently you pressed a button to carry out these actions, not the most stimulating or realistic experience. Nintendo and Wii Sports plan to change all that. Requiring you to swing, punch, and throw your way to pro status.
Wii Sports is a compilation of 5 sports games, baseball, bowling, boxing, golf and tennis. And comes bundled with your purchase of a Nintendo Wii, therefore free (who doesn't like free stuff). This game was intended to introduce Nintendo's new controls, with quick and simple game play.
What Nintendo envisioned when the designed this game was something anyone could just pick up and play. Success of this vision can be see in Nintendo Wii sale numbers, just about sold out ever week for 14 straight months.

Watching your mom or grandma pick up the controls and go straight into playing some Wii Bowling or Wii Golf shows how easy playing Wii sports can be. The learning curve is about 2 seconds. What Wii Sports lack from is an amount of depth and some unresponsive controls.
Wii Bowling really demonstrates how well the Wii controllers can work. Want to put a little spin on the ball? Twist your hand like you would if you were at a real bowling ally and watch your ball come within inches of the gutter only to find its way back into the pocket.
Controls for Wii Sports are a not always perfect and can be a bit frustrating at times. Wii Boxing can be extremely frustrating, as it never seems to do what you want it to. You'll find yourself constantly, throwing jabs no matter what motion you make, and eventually lying on the canvas.
The Wii remote utilizes its built in accelerometer to gauge how fast you may throw a pitch or how hard you swing your golf club. In other words you don't have to throw your arm out for a 100mph pitch. A quick flick of your wrist will do the trick. This is useful for the lazy gamers to choose to take the easy way out of any form of exercise. (Yeah, you know who you are)
My biggest concern with Wii Sports is the lack of online play. Wii Sports was built to be a multiplayer game, a pretty darn good one at that. However, no online features is extremely disappointing.
Still, Wii Sports is an over all fun experience, for the whole family, and its free.
Game Play Score: 7/10
Easy for even the most inexperienced gamers to learn, so the next time you're playing Wii Sports be sure to give grandma some playing time as well. Some frustrating
How to Repair xBox 360 Problems and The Red Ring of Death

SquareTrade, a web site responsible for managing warrantees for xBox 360, reported that the failure rate for xBox 360 game consoles are well over 16 percent. This is an alarming amount of failure for a game system, especially coming from Microsoft. The xBox 360 crashing and other problems are widely, known among gamers, but I didn't realize the problem was this rampant.
Among the biggest problem gamers face is overheating of xBox 360 game consoles causing flashing 3 red lights called "Red Ring of Death." I have experienced similar problem in the past and there's a simple solution to repair this xBox 360 problem by using the famous 3 towel trick.
Three towel trick is a temporary repair that may last for a few days or even several weeks, nobody really has any idea how long this temporary fix will last. However, if you are desperate to repair your xBox 360 from red ring of death problem, following procedure is how you fix your infamous xBox 360 "Red Ring of Death."
The reasoning behind the 3 towel trick is to get your xBox game console very hot thereby reconnecting the possible loose connection on the game board. And if all goes according to plan, after using the towel trick, hopefully the game console will function normally again.
Repair xBox 360 Red Ring of Death Problem with Towel Trick
First thing you should do is turn the main power to your system off and disconnect all network cables, leaving only the power supply. Then turn on the power back on and with 3 or 4 thick towels, wrap the game console loosely. Turn the power back on. If you can't locate the power button with wrapped towels, you can turn the power on before you wrap your towel. Let the game console heat up for about 25 to 30 minutes. After heating it up for 25 to 30 minutes, take away the towels from the game console. Be extra careful not to burn yourself, because the console will be extremely hot at this point. Let the game console cool down for about 15~20 minutes and reboot your xBox. Do not connect your network cables at this point.
After applying the towel trick, your xBox 360 still flashes "Red Ring of Death," you're out of luck. You need to have it fixed by a repair personnel. Fun for All Age Groups: Nintendo Wii
Nintendo's Wii video game system (pronounced "we") is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together--whether they're in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system's name reflects this simple idea. It's easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii's intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.
The Wii is much smaller than what most people expect it to be. It is smooth, distinctive and looks good. The Wii-mote, as the remote is referred to, is easy to use once you are familiar with the keys. The Nun chuck control is also good when you connect it to the Wii-mote for playing the games included with the system. You can buy additional games when you wish to do so. The Sensor bar is very easy to set up and the entire setup doesn't take long to start gaming. The Wii comes with owner manuals and it is recommended that you go through the manuals so that you understand the system well enough to get the most out of it.
When you start playing the Wii games you will find that they require some physical participation from you. This is because of the motion-sensor technology built into the controller. This enables you to play, for example a game of tennis, using the Wii-mote as a tennis racket. The classic Wii controller is sold separately.
Playing the Wii games will enable you to get into shape, and stay that way. You may select the games you enjoy playing for regular exercise such as tennis, bowling, and boxing. The Wii includes a fitness age test for assessing your physical condition after a few rounds of some of the games included. The Wii assessment takes into consideration your speed, balance, reaction, timing as well as some other characteristics of your physical dexterity. If you play with the Wii regularly, your fitness will definitely improve.
You can connect to Nintendo's website either using wireless (WiFi) or ethernet. Once you are logged in, you will be able to download additional games to your Wii. Using the "Virtual Console" you will be able to use the Wii's backwards capability to play Nintendo's NES games, Super Nintendo games, Sega Master System games and Turbogrfx. You can pay for these games with points purchased with your credit card. Alternatively, you can buy the Nintendo Points cards at your local gaming store or supermarkets such as Walmart or Target, and then redeem these points for games.
Using the Nintendo Wii you can access a weather channel, a voting channel where you can cast your vote on various issues, an Internet channel where you use a web browser to surf the net and you can even register friends and colleagues so that you can email them.
The Wii unit is able to connect to the Internet through its built-in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and through a USB-to-Ethernet adaptor, with both methods allowing players to access the established Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Nintendo has stated that the console implements standard Wi-Fi protocols. Wireless encryption by WEP, WPA (TKIP/RC4) and WPA2 (CCMP/AES) are supported. Just as for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo does not charge fees for playing via the service and the Friend Code system controls how players connect to one another. It is reported that only one Wii system code is required. This system also implements console-based software such as the Wii Message Board, for which a feature is being considered for alerting registered friends for the Wii Message Board about new games that have been purchased..
The Nintendo Wii is not just for kids, and is highly recommended for all age groups. Even experienced gamers who have purchased the Nintendo Wii just love it. The Wii is great fun, has vast potential for entertainment. With it's online features, the Wii is a wonderful experience for everyone.

Sony Wii Systems in Stock – Where? – Read Here Quickly!
Almost two months after the big Christmas rush, it is still proving difficult to find the sony wii systems in stock and selling at its recommended retail price. Such is the popularity of the console, even well over a year after its original release, the most hardened shoppers are having difficulty tracking down good deals.
There are now a few retailers that have Nintendo Wii’s in stock but tracking these down can prove difficult and time consuming especially if you have to trawl around the shopping malls looking for them.

The stores that often offer good competitive prices for products are finding themselves out of stock most of them time. Until their shelves are restocked there is little chance of finding a Nintendo Wii there and most of the more expensive resellers are looking to cash in on the shortage.
To find Nintendo Wii systems in stock for a reasonable price will take some web savvy and vigilance. There are a number of websites on the internet devoted specifically to tracking the availability of Wii consoles at various high street and online outlets. If you are lucky you may be able to catch a fresh shipment and get your Wii for as little as $250.
However, you will need to be quick. It is rumored that the last shipment at this price to go for sale on Amazon.com sold out in 10 minutes. The sustained demand for the Nintendo Wii is nothing short of amazing over a year after its release in the United States. Figures show that about 500,000 have been sold every month since its release and that there is no sign of demand slowing.
Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 17
The Nintendo Wii has been sold out every week since its debut in November of 2006. While, out selling the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 along the way. Now, here we are some 14 months after its original release and Wiis are still at a premium. Don't believe me check out Amazon or ebay.com for the latest on market prices for this console. This fact alone supports that Wii is the better console.
Still not convinced of the success and popularity of this console? the read on my pessimistic friend.
Many analysis discount Nintendo's success as a mere fad. A trend that will so die out with that will eventually leave Microsoft and Sony battling for video game supremacy. Not the case, not in my house. I was finally able to get a Wii this Christmas to go along with my PS3, which i bought mainly for its Blu Ray support not the games.
Although I will admit to the PlayStations beautiful graphics engine it does not come close to accomplishing what the Wii accomplishes. Playing games with my family, in which i have three sisters, (I know it was brutal being the youngest boy) to see them gathered around the TV playing Wii Sports.
Far from a gimmick as I, and other Nintendo insiders, believe the console will continue to sell well through out the 2008 calender year.
The argument that the Wii are for kids and will not appeal to the "hardcore game" has also been debunked. With great single players games like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, and Zelda: Twilight Princess Nintendo has stayed true to its gaming roots.
I will admit that Nintendo's console is without its faults. No DVD play back is a bit of an annoyance, and I wish the graphics were better. All things I fully expect Nintendo to have on their next home console.
The PlayStation 3 is a great system in itself. As I mentioned I own one, which I use as a Blu Ray player. And if you have the money I would suggest you buy both these systems.
As far as "gaming" goes, I have found myself enjoying my time with the Wii that the PS3 or my friends Xbox 360. And I am quite positive that anyone who has played a Wii, (if you can get your hands on one) will enjoy it too.

Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 20
Recently my husband and I bought a Wii. For months before hand we researched the Wii and PlayStation 3. While the PS3 undoubtedly has superior graphics, for more realistic and mind blowing game play, it doesn't meet our needs as a family orientated gaming console.
The first thing that drew us to the Wii was the price. It is great value for money and comes with WiiSports and a Wii Remote.
The second important thing for us was a console that made it easy to find child friendly games the whole family can play together. We currently own 9 games, 8 of which are rated G and all are great fun for adults as well as children. I felt it important to be able to have games our daughter can play without being subjected to violence, swearing and sexual innuendo. The portrayal of these things on more advanced consoles makes scary and inappropriate things seem very real and in some ways I think it's gone too far. I am enjoying the simple graphics of the games I play on the Wii, my senses aren't overloaded to a ridiculous point.
Game play is a major draw card of the Wii, while I wasn't totally sure about how that would work before buying it, I was sold the moment we started playing. You have to use your hand-eye coordination to do anything, you have to shake, point, rotate, swivel and hit your way through games, while interactive game play such as PlayStation's EyeToy has been around for awhile now there has never been anything quite like this.
The interactivity adds much to the gaming experience, especially with games such as WiiSports, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Rayman Raving Rabbids where it's almost imperative that you get up, use your body and energy in order to be successful. While I don't believe such play should take the place of outside play, exercise and moderation, I do think this type of game play is much healthier than the equivalent time spent playing PlayStation 3.
The physicality of playing also acts as a timer which means you tend to not waste so much time when you're gaming, which I think is an important aspect in these days when so many children are becoming addicted to video games.
The best thing about Wii? It caters to those of us who loved Mario when we were younger. We can enjoy new Mario titles and introduce our children to a much loved character from our childhood.
Is the wii zapper the same as the wii perfect gun shot? What are their differences and similarities?
Are video games getting better or worse as graphics, sound and gameplay complexity improve?
How could I possibly even think anything electronic, particularly video, is getting worse rather than better. With the technical breakthroughs and electronic advancements we have made isn't everything getting better?
In June 1972 Atari started the video game craze with Pong. They continued with many follow-up games that were indeed a hit in their time but would barely be recognized today. By 1980 Atari was experimenting with the big ones; centipede, asteroids, dig dug and others that were taking the entertainment world by storm.
Atari began with machines designed for video parlors and convenience stores. The games became so popular they introduced a Pong for the home. Two players would bat an electronic ball back and forth across the TV screen. There were several variations, larger or smaller paddles, faster or slower balls, but basically it was an in-house ping pong game for the TV.
In the early 1980's the video game environment was about to blow up. In 1983 Nintendo introduced the 8 bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In February of 1986 the NES became available in America with a game already packed in the box; Super Mario Brothers (SMB). SMB went on to sell over 40 million copies.
Enough of the brief history of video games. Suffice it to say games did indeed get better in the 80s and 90s and they got better fast. They went from the jerky, square figures of Atari to smooth side scrolling cartoon like characters. They continued to evolve into full 3D type of video. The controllers and platforms evolved right along with the game ideas and developments.
But, wait a minute. These are just games right? Just how much can we or do we need to advance? Are we still playing a game or are we doing something else. I have played Nintendo games since my first NES back in the 80s. I made it a point to upgrade to every one of their advancing platforms. It was frustrating because suddenly all my old games were no longer viable. I could only play a new format game on a new platform.
But, I enjoyed the advancements and the improvements as we went from NES to Super Nintendo to N64 up through Game Cube. Now they continue to progress and introduce Wii. I haven't played or purchased a Wii just yet but I have seen it in action. Yikes, yes it is beautiful. It does wondrous things. Not much different than some of the others like X-box or Play Station. Where does it end though?
I claim the gaming is not getting any better because;
1) As games become more complicated they require advanced technical understanding
2) New games require new platforms which means new big dollars
3) Gaming magazines no longer cover old games they have become advertising for new games
4) There comes a point that a cartoon figure does not belong becoming a living being
5) Don't do so much that the fun of a game is replaced with the challenge of a machine
I have always purchased the next, new Nintendo platform. I probably won't get a Wii primarily due to the price and the lack of exciting games to play on it. The Mario franchise has always been my incentive to go on to the next level but they waited so long to develop Mario for the Wii that most of the excitement has worn off.
I like playing games but thats really where I want to keep it, playing games.
Supply Has Not Met Demand For Nintendo Wii

Anyone who takes a great interest in video games can tell you exactly where they were on November 19, 2006. If they are a really serious gamer then most likely they were camped out overnight in front of the Toys R Us store located in Times Square, New York in an effort to be the first one through the doors when they opened early in the morning. That was the day when Nintendo Wii was launched and the race to get one officially began. It was a grand event that was highlighted by such things as a roving Segway scooter that held a custom made Wii console. People could play Wii games wirelessly while waiting in the line that stretched around the building.
Since that day the demand for Wii consoles has been much greater than the supply. In fact, if you wanted to purchase a console right now chances are your favorite department store, electronics outlet or Internet mall may be sold out of this product.
The publicity leading up to the release of Nintendo Wii was unanimously positive. This console is the fifth one released by Nintendo, and it is the successor to the highly popular GameCube console. Serious gamers had followed the story from the beginning when Nintendo Wii was first unveiled at the 2005 E3 event. It won the first of many awards at that show as they hit the ground running. From that day forward the massive amount of people who play video games worldwide could hardly wait to get their hands on one of these revolutionary consoles.
Nintendo Wii has outsold Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PSP since its release a few months ago. The demand for this product is now through the roof. People of all ages are playing games on these units and the interest is growing larger every day.
Wii is number one in sales of video game consoles partly due to its price, 250 dollars which is about 2 to 4 hundred dollars less than its competitors. The main reason people are going bananas over this console though is due to its exiting new features like WiiConnect24 which enables the console to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode. But most of all it is all about the remote control.
The thing that sets Nintendo Wii apart from other game consoles like Playstation 3, PSP or Xbox 360 is its wireless remote control, known as the Wii remote. It is a revolutionary device that offers interactivity on a whole new level. This remote has a motion sensor that allows the user to get up off their seat and kick, swing, jump and dance their way through Wii games. No more hours of endless sitting. Gamers can now actually feel like they are physically in the game while they are playing their video games.
As the frenzy to buy Nintendo Wii consoles has increased steadily online malls and retail stores have struggled to keep their shelves stocked with this hot new product. Many people have accused Nintendo of purposely holding back on the amount of Wii consoles for sale to create a high demand for the product. These critics go further to say that the plan of Nintendo all along was to release plenty of these consoles in the fourth quarter of the business year to a public that cannot wait to get their hands on one of them because the product is so good, yet relatively scarce.
This week Nintendo announced that they would be ramping up production of Wii consoles. This means that there should be plenty of them available for sale during the fourth quarter of this business year. On the surface it would appear that the conspiracy theory crowd was right about Nintendo withholding production to create an artificial demand. However, there is no way to be certain if this is true unless you have a secret recording of the top Nintendo executives sitting in a board meeting as they plotted their diabolical plan.
The big question here is whether or not the drought will soon be over for video game enthusiasts who are thirsty for a drink of the new Nintendo Wii console. While no amount was given by Nintendo regarding how many more consoles they will produce, most people believe that the general PR message the company is sending out to the public is that you will not have a problem finding Nintendo Wii for sale at your favorite retail or online store from now on.

How the Massive Appeal of Nintendo Wii Game System Compares With That Of the PS3 And The XBox 360
When the Nintendo Wii first emerged on the scene, there was such frenzy for it, just as there was with the PS3 and the XBox360. It became hard to find after a hot minute. Its popularity skyrocketed within the first few days. In all three cases, some people wondered why others would be fascinated over a video game system.
With the Nintendo Wii, there are several reasons why:
The Nintendo Wii video game system was made so that people who normally play video games such as those on Xbox360 or PS3 would like it. There was a lot of action like those games. There was quite a bit of excitement in the play.
In the XBox360 and PS3, the games were more fantasy-oriented in many cases. Players took on the identities of imaginary characters and took part in adventures like slaying dragons or fighting battles.
However, the Wii games are different than any of the other games people may have seen. Because of their simplicity and down-to-earth games, Wii game systems sold out very quickly in just a short amount of time. People were hunting all over for them after they sold out.
The Wii video game system appeals to so many people because it is user friendly. Even the person who is not video game literate can get a grasp of these games. Unlike the Xbox 360 or the PS3, the Wii movements are more easily translated from the person's actions to the images on the screen.

The system comes with the Wii Sports collection. This collection consists of baseball, golf, tennis, bowling and boxing. There is a remote which is used to control the movements of the games. Since the remote is in charge of the movements, people don't have to concern themselves with getting a sore thumb.
On the other hand, people who are fond of the PS3 and XBox360 like the complex controls. They enjoy the challenge of seeing what they can do by pushing different buttons and turning the joysticks in different ways.
For the most part, the Nintendo Wii remote control uses one hand. Instead of it being bulky and long like a television remove, it is short and slender. It can be used comfortably in either the left or the right hand. There will be no concerns about losing it because there is a strap attached that can be placed around the wrist.
The same strap can be placed around the arm for another part of its uniqueness; when you make a movement with it, then the object moves. It doesn't matter if you're swinging, rolling or hitting. There is also a nunchuk, which is a device that is used for boxing and other games.
Of course, the PS3 and XBox player would say that their games are set up to move when they move their controllers as well. The difference is that you do not have to memorize what different buttons do. With the Nintendo Wii, you simply have to move in natural ways.
Before a person can play any of the games, the user has to create a Mii character. The Mii program allows a person to customize your own playing character for the games. It comes with a schedule and a memo pad. Many games on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 do not allow customization.
When playing games on the Nintendo Wii, the person will definitely get a workout. In order to play the game, they have to move around with the remote and swing the arm in a certain direction, depending on what game is being played. This is better than playing Xbox 360 or PS3 video games, where a person is are essentially a couch potato.
An important thing to note is that people should not overdo it when playing games on the Nintendo Wii system. All of that swinging can make a person's arm tire out. Even though they can be fun and addictive, those arms should savor any strength for another day. In addition to the basic Wii games that come with the package, there is also Wii Fit, which is a separate entity.
There are also fitness games on some of the other game systems, and people can easily get tired out while playing PS3 or XBox360. It is important when playing those games to take breaks and rest your eyes and your mind.
Another reason why people probably hurried to get the Nintendo Wii video game system is because of the price. Nintendo Wii is affordable, compared to some of the others. Xbox 360 and PS3 were costlier.
Nintendo Wii is considered to be cost-friendly for a lot of people. The price range is about $250 - $300.
In the end, the PS3 and the XBox360 are much more advanced gaming machines when it comes to intricate action. The Wii games are challenging, and there is something for everyone to enjoy.
