Are there any learning video games that could teach my high school son?

My two cents asked:

My son will be going to the 10th grade. He will graduate from 9th grade in less than two weeks. He loves video games, but i'm wondering just like they have games for preschoolers on reading, if there is something out there that can teach while playing a short video game for high schoolers. Maybe he could even learn a few things ahead before he starts 10th grade.

They just discovered that almost all of the games make you smarter and keep you off the streets.

If he plays what he enjoys, he will learn more at a faster rate than being force fed a boring educational game. It’s like riding a horse down a hill, the best was to get there is to loosen the reigns and trust the horse. I have been playing games since I was 11 and they have been the most significant enabler for me to reach the top of my profession. My advice, let him pick his own games and he will flourish.
