We bought a Wii console in the UK and would like our family in the US to be able to buy games for our son for Christmas / birthday. Does anyone know if the games will work?

  1. Ryan says:

Nope, the Wii is region locked, for example Japenese Wii games won’t work on an American Wii.

Mad Catz and other “accessories” vendors sell adaptors that make playing foreign software possible. However I don’t know if one for the Wii exists yet. It probably will before long. The demand for it is probably high. Check the mad catz website and maybe even request the company for one.

No, the Wii is region-locked, so only games bought in the UK will work.

I wish it could man,but i’m afraid they don’t. If they did i’d go there like 4 times a year.

    I think you can -

    Follow these instructions.

Put a US region disc into your wii
Then quickly remove it and put a UK region disc in.
YOu should be able to play it
