My brother has Mario Kart wii and only two Wii controllers. He said he can't figure out and said it had to be all-Wii or all-GC controllers only, not a mix. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

    it can be any combination

I should know, I play with my 2 brothers and we all use different controllers. (I use Wii + Nunchuck, one brother uses GC, and the other uses Wii Wheel).

Yes, Just select it when you play in multiple player modes, each player can choose their own control method.

You dont have to use either all gamecube controllers or all wii remotes.
You can use either the Wii remote, the Wii remote with Nunchuck, or the Gamecube Controller. Before you play multiplayer, Player 2 has to press the ‘A’ button and when he does, the contol layout he is using will be shown and he will use that throughout the race e.g. Gamecube Controller.

Yep. Any Combo Works. I’d Recommend the wii controller w/ wheel
