How do I buy Wii points online as a gift?

Is there any way to do this?? I live in Canada. I don't have a Wii so all I know is that you can buy points cards at a store, and lucky Wii owners can buy points on the Wii Shop Channel.

    go to target, get a wii points card, scratch of the silver colored stuff and send him an email with the code written on the back of the card
