What is it with the enormous attraction we have to video games?

My 13 year old nephew loves his games. I don't see how playing the same game over and over and over again is exciting. Maybe you have to be a 13 year boy like my nephew. I don't know.

Can playing rented video games hurt your PS2 dvd player?

I had a PS2 and I used the DVD player a lot for movies. Now, I never rent movies, I always buy them so I know they are brand new. However, when I bought my PS2 I rented a couple of video games from Blockbuster. The discs were mildly scratched, but they worked okay. Nothing was on them. Now, my question is can those video game discs affect my brand new discs in any way?
