Console reviews: The Nintendo Wii – Part 9

The Wii has captured the imagination of old and new gamers around the world. Nintendo have usually suffered at the hands of Sony and Microsoft in the console battle in recent years but not anymore. Quite what makes the Wii experience special cannot be fully answered until you play it.

It has been well-documented that the Wii isn't in the same class when it comes to processing power, but what it does make up for is sheer gaming fun. The key to its success is the motion controlled remote and nun-chuck, when utilised properly, can lead to an experience that few gamers have had before.

And this is where the Wii can truly be considered next-generation, it is a new level of interactivity, a bridging of the player and game so both become as one. You'd never think that actually taking part in virtual bowling could be this deep in a game; it's part of the Wii sports that comes packaged as standard with the console. You'll be twisting the remote left and right and getting the ball to spin in next to no time, trying you're hardest to better your score.

That is where Nintendo have struck console gold, accessible gaming for everybody. Not every game is family orientated but there are plenty of games already on the market with the idea of multi-player, multi-generational gaming in mind. Now serious gaming doesn't have to be the sole preserve of the teens to mid-20's, the age spectrum has broadened and gaming has grown up.

It would be nothing without solid titles in its games library, and Super Mario Galaxy is one such title. Graphically it's a work of art, and it puts to shame any critics that say the Wii is inferior when stood up against the Xbox 360 and PS3. A stunning world is realised, Mario has never looked as good as this, and a perfect demo of just what a Wii can really do in the right developers hands.

Once you get over the wow factor, the game is virtually flawless in its design, creativity and enjoyment factor. From stages that involve riding on the back of a manta ray, on a water course in the sky, to running through a course on top of a big ball, the game throws up different ideas on every stage. The Wii remote is used in many different and new ways from level to level, each feels unique, challenging and most importantly fun.

Nintendo have also seen fit to have a Wii shop that you can access via Wi-fi, this enables gamers to browse the virtual console titles, many past and popular titles from the NES, Mega-Drive, SNES, Gamecube, and even Neo Geo can be downloaded and saved to the Wii memory. With new games added every week, this addition is another reason why a Wii can be considered a solid purchase now and for the future.

Video game reviews: EA Playground (Nintendo Wii)

Wii Bii Normal

EA Playground is a new and innovative game for the Nintendo Wii. The game is based around a typical school-going character, whom you must select before beginning the game. The basic concept of the game is to roam the school yard as your chosen character, looking for certain games and challenges, hosted by your classmates, as well the game's very own currency; collectible bags of marbles, which in turn can be used to pay for "stickers" which are placed into a sticker album once earned, and can be traded amongst your classmates throughout the playing area.

The games and challenges you complete also reward you with bags of marbles, depending on your performance in that specific game, i.e beating the current champion. Playing the games and beating challenges eventually allows you to progress through the previously locked gates, into the next part of the school yard, where you will find new challenges and games, and, you guessed it, more bags of marbles scattered around the game's many nooks and crannies. The game has a real competitive factor about it, in that you and your friends can get totally immersed in beating each other's records and accomplishments etc. however you may find that the slight lack of games and variation within the games may bore you within a while.

If you are someone who enjoyed games such as Wii Play and Mario Galaxy, then the chances are that you will enjoy this one also, due to Wii Play's array of mini-games, and Mario Galaxy's weird but wonderful, fun concept.

The lovely animation and friendly vibes you get from playing this game is one of the areas this game really excels in, and herein lies one of it's main focuses- a fun and user-friendly playing environment to supply the whole family with some wacky Wii excitement, EA style. The downside to this is the rather annoying "language" of the in-game characters, in addition to the seemingly constant, endless playing of the background music.

The game's good points do out-number the game's bad points, and this title gets a 7.5, bordering 8 out of 10 for me, purely because of it's fun based gameplay and the solid feel to it, unlike some games that feel they have been rushed. Presentation is good, with well made environments and physics, audio fits the game's genre and gameplay, even if it is mind-numbingly tedious at times, and the controls on the Wiimote are simple and easy to adjust to. Yes the game has it's flaws, but these don't stop the game being an absolute blast for fans of this genre. Overall, a fine addition to my collection of Nintendo Wii games, and I'm sure a fine addition to yours.

I am younger than I look...

At least according to my Wii Fitness age on Wii Sports. Just the other day I actually got younger.

The Wii console is brilliant for its interactibility. Now the 38% of America's youth that border on obesity have a reason to put down the twinkies and cheesy poofs and drop a few pounds while playing video games!

The Nintendo Wii offers fun for the whole family. I never thought I would see my grandmother playing a Video game, turns out Wiis are a hit in Nursing Homes. Instead of lobbing a 14 pound bowling ball down a lane on Field trip Tuesdays, the elderly can strap on a fourteen ounce Wii remote and have the time of their life every day of the week.

My co-workers, who don't own a game system, now do. They love the interactive nature of the new system, and enjoy watching their kids work out some of their excessive energy or a normally "dumbing" object that is a TV.

Wii strong points:

1. Interactive - first main stream gaming system to highly integrate movement from the user.

2. Cheap(er) - less expensive then the other options currently available at $400 or $600 a pop.

3. Adaptability - can you say Zelda sword and shield, or how about a Wii remote gun.

Wii-eak points:

1. Resolution - 480p is not that incredible, perhaps how they keep it cheaper though (what's with the new HD cables they are selling for this system anyhow?)

2. Dashboard - so you've got a ton of potential for new Wii channels and interactive gaming communities, why not give us fans something more to play with?

3. Shooter Games - haven't enjoyed a good shooter game yet because the aim mechanism in the controller makes it near impossible to mimic the feel of a real gun.

All in all I give the console an 8 out of 10. Nice work Nintendo.

Super Hero Games for the Nintendo Wii – Part 1

EA Active (Wii) - 2

Super heroes have been around for a very long time in the form of comic books and action figures. They have found their way to the big screen and even to the world of video games. They are timeless and they never seem to go out of style. It seems in this world of good and evil there is always room for one more super hero to come along and save the day.

If you love super heroes you will be very excited to discover that there are plenty of Nintendo Wii games that fit into this category. The have wonderful effects so you can feel like you are a part of the game. You can bring the characters to life instead of just moving them around. You will likely get lost in the action that is going on.

One of the newest ones out there is Spiderman 3. Set in the city of New York, Spiderman is out there trying to save the day anyway he can. What is very original about this version of the game is that you can go with the regular suit or the black one that Spiderman wears in the movie. When Spiderman is wearing the black suit he is stronger and faster. Yet we all know there are ways in which that suit consumes him so you better be ready for them in the game.

There are complete storylines from the movie that you can play through if you wish to do so. If not, you will have the option to create your own scenes along the way. With this particular super hero game for the Wii you aren’t just trying to save others; you are trying to save Spiderman from himself as well. Will your desire for power be too much and lead to your own destruction? Will not using the black suit though mean you aren’t powerful enough at times to defeat the enemies? There are plenty of cool effects and plenty of great features found in this game that you will be quite impressed with.

If destruction is more your style the Incredible Hulk game may be what you are interested in. He is huge and green and can get very angry when things don’t go his way. Even though the Hulk is attempting to be helpful he leaves a mess every where he goes. You may be having a great time destroying everything in your path but you need to be careful. The more you destroy the more forces will be coming to take you out. That could mean your game ends before you have gotten to explore very much out there.

The game portrays the Incredible Hulk as more of a human than a cartoon version. In fact if you have see the newly released movie then you will understand that there is a connection between the two. It is no accident that this newly released Wii game came out around the same time as the movie hit theatres. Most people agree that they like this humanist form of the Hulk much better.

There is also Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. With this particular super hero game Harvey has to solve some tough cases. Are you up to the task of helping him do so? There are some that are relatively easy to solve and others that are going to take a great deal of concentration on your part. You can have a great time with this Wii game as well as enjoying sharpening your thinking skills.

The legacy of super heroes lives on with the many Nintendo Wii games. If you have a couple of favorites you can choose those games to play. It can be fun to be a part of those games instead of just reading about that super hero or watching them on TV. Nintendo has done a terrific job of bringing these images to life for people to really get into the game.

Safety and the Nintendo Wii

Playing video games is to be fun and so most people don’t associate safety with it. Yet the makers of the Nintendo Wii have issued some safety warnings for their products. It doesn’t mean they at they are a threat to the well being of those playing such games. However, Nintendo does want to be responsible and let the various safety concerns be known. That way both children and adults can benefit from what is has to offer as much as possible.

Research has shown that a small percentage of the population can experience seizures due to playing various types of video games. This is due to the combination of the graphics that flash on the screen in front of them. This can occur very suddenly even for individuals who have always seemed to be very healthy. It doesn’t matter how old the individual is either.

It is believed these are most likely to occur when the individual is sitting very close to the TV screen. It is also more common when a big screen TV is being used instead of a smaller one. Try to move as far back from the screen as possible while playing. Sitting there for hours can also trigger these seizures to occur as well. Limit the time that children are exposed to them without a break.

There are also some other types of health concerns to watch out for. Even if the individual doesn’t have a seizure they may be affected from the exposure. Severe headaches, twitching eyes, blurred vision, and convulsions should all be taken very seriously. If you are prone to motion sickness you may experience similar feelings playing the Nintendo Wii due to the rapid movements on the screen with some games.

Some people spend hours and hours each day playing the Nintendo Wii games. There is no doubt they can become quite addictive due to the fun and the challenges that they offer. However, there are plenty of motions that have to be repeated again and again in order to play these games for such long periods of time. This can result in pain in the fingers, hands, and wrists.

These problems can be avoided by limiting the amount of time a person plays the Nintendo Wii each day. Some people will experience early warning signs including numbness in these areas or burning sensations. It is best to stop playing at that time and take a very long break so that it doesn’t persist.

While many of the games for the Nintendo Wii are interactive, you need to survey your area first. You need to make sure you have sufficient room to complete the movements. You don’t want to injure yourself by bumping into objects or other people. Make sure your movements won’t cause anything to fall off of shelves or the walls onto you either.

Individuals who participate in such interactive Wii games need to make sure they are physically fit enough to do so. A person can easily pull a muscle or cause other harm if they aren’t ready for particular movements. Stretching before and after engaging in these games can also help to reduce the risk of injuries. Those with heart problems need to ask their doctor before they participate in these types of games.

For the most part you will find playing the Nintendo Wii to be fun and not a problem at all. However, it is very important to be aware of the various safety issues that could present themselves. Limiting the amount of time a person plays such games at one time seems to be a very good way to prevent many of them from happening.

If problems due occur make sure you seek medical attention. These problems that arise while playing the Nintendo Wii could be an early warning of a more severe medical condition. A full assessment by a medical professional can help to ensure it is kept under control.

Video games reviews: Transformers: The Game (Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PS3)

Video games reviews: Transformers: The Game (Wii)

From the block buster hit Transformers: The Movie, Activision brings Transformers: The Game to the Nintendo Wii, as well as other platforms. A war rages on earth between the Autobots and Decepticons, a battle between good and evil. Allowing you the gamer to decide which side you wish to fight for. Which ever side you swear your allegiance to you be put into essentially an open world. Where you can roam the surrounding area or accept mission objectives. Do not mistake Transformers version of a free roaming environment with the likes of Grand Theft Auto. Your progression through out the game is extremely linear. You will be assigned one new mission upon completion of the previous one. Although, most of the surrounding environment is interactive, allowing you pick and hurl items around. There is little satisfaction to be had with terrorizing the local inhabitants.

This all fails in comparison with the weak control system of the game. Transformers is a third person shooter using the analog stick on your nunchuck moves you bot around,

and the IR is used to aim. This is where most of my grumbling comes from in this game. Often, if an enemy is behind you it will take sometime before you will be able to turn a full 180 degrees and return fire. A major problem for a game brings plenty and fast action.

Transformers also proved to be a very shallow game. Missions eventually become boring and repetitive, shoot this blow up that. All without ever really changing how you have to play the game. A few things like bonus content or trying to find 100 energon cubes, provides a little more depth to the game. However, with the problems in controls and a lack luster story line, the same old recover the "Allspark" "protect the world" theme. I could only imagine why anyone would want to play this game other than to just beat it and be done with it.

Game Play Score: 6/10

Controls ruin what could have been a very enjoyable game. IR controls are very sluggish in responding to movement

Graphics Score: 7/10

The game looks pretty good in 480p with 16:9 wide-screen. Cinematic look great and the open worlds look pretty decent.

Audio Score: 6/10

Boring music from the movie and no use of the Wii Remote speaker makes the audio experience a dud.

Creativity/Innovation Score: 5/10

Transformers makes little use of the Wii controls. Waggle to throw a punch, point to shoot. both feel unresponsive and have been done better by other games.

Replay Value Score: 5/10

Bonus content, pictures and images of old transformers, does not make up for a lousy battles/missions that become boring and repetitive real fast.

Final Score: 5/10

A playable and passable game but I would not recommended it to anyone other than those die hard fans of the Transformers series.

The PS3 and xbox 360 are similar to each other in terms of features both have hard drive, dvd player, can connect outside devices such as gp2x and others there is other extra feature which the 360 has not the ps3 the media center downloading movies and music that's a bonus both have powerful graphics nothing special when it comes to gameplay style still using control pads and finally we have Nintendo wii it an dedicated games console which will only play games the gameplay on wii is best style why the wii the controllers act like holding a tennis racket or a gun for instance in golf one controller is the ball the other is the racket so move the racket forwards and backwards with one and the other one will hit the ball ok the console wars has been happening for many years i really don't think no one will pay for ps3 because of it's price it will have to be xbox 360 and wii because they are cheap i must say this Nintendo wii has been doing well in terms of sales us and japan it will be no.1 console with it's new interactive gameplay style and small console which will fit anywhere it will hard competition for console wars but at the end of the day most people will pay less for games consoles and that console will sell a console price shouldn't be more than 200.00 we will have to see if Nintendo can stay in the game for an cheap console like nintendo wii.

Mii avatars for the Nintendo Wii video gamers – Part 1

July 7, 2011 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is taking avatars to the next level with its new idea - the Mii Channel. On it you can create little versions of yourself, other people, or just make weird and wacky people. There aren't as many customizations as many people would have liked, but after all, the Mii is intended as a representation of you on screen, not a lifelike replica.

Of course, there would be no point in having avatars if there was nowhere to use them. They can be so far used in the games Wii Sports, Wii Play, Warioware and a few others, mostly Nintendo's own developed games. Also interesting is the Miis appearance in Wii Fit, and possibly Super Smash Brothers Brawl, a fighting game. Miis can also take part in the Everybody Votes Channel and soon a new channel where you can show off your Mii creations to the world.

Miis are quite diverse in their animations, being able to swing a baseball bat, run around a tennis court and can even ride a cow in Wii Play. However, it seems that this is purely your Mii's head slapped on a random model, as Miis lose their height and width when playing in places other than the Mii Channel.

The trouble is, fun as they are to create, their full potential was not met. Alright, the cartoony style is OK, but why not make the system more like MySims, where characters have many more options to be customized. It seems maybe a tad rushed, and you have to wonder whether this was more of an afterthought than a carefully planned feature. All in all though, they are fun and, most importantly, functional which in the end is all that really matters.

Understanding the Nintendo Wii Mii

June 5, 2011 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

With Nintendo Wii games you will find many little icons that take on a life of their own. They are known as the Mii. They are what keep the scores for the games, keep your personal settings for the Wii Fit games, and help you to achieve what you want to with your various games. You can only save what has gone on in a given Wii game though with the use of a memory card.

Some people think it is silly that Nintendo took the time to name this feature. After all there have been such icons in place since the beginning of video game history. However, with Nintendo they wanted to put things on a more personal level. The name Mii is perfect too since it deals with your individualized playing concepts.

In fact, you will find there are people out there only interested in playing the Nintendo Wii home gaming console due to the Mii concept. They love it and they don’t want to go back to playing anything that isn’t personally designed for them. They don’t want to be just another number out there playing another video game. They really enjoy being a part of the game instead of just playing it.

They love the familiarity of their Mii when they are playing the games. They also get to where they recognize those of other people who are joining in the game. This was really a smart concept that Nintendo brought to life. It has gone over well with people of all ages as they feel they are a significant part of the games they are playing on the Wii.

The fact that you can personalize your Miis for the various games is part of the fun. You can be very creative or very basic. Some people have a trade mark Mii that they use on every single game. Others change it up depending on their personality or how they rate that particular game. You can learn a great deal about a person just by paying attention to their Mii on a given game.

Many people who use their Wii gaming console to connect to the internet also use their Mii as their signature in their emails. This can be very fun especially when you are communicating with those individuals who you play Wii games with all the time. They will come to recognize your Mii as you will come to recognize theirs when they send you messages.

If you are new to the concept of creating a Mii you will find all you need to do so on the Wii screens of your gaming console. One of them is called the Mii Channel and here you can do all of your personalization. It is going to take some time to get used to this new feature though. For too many years you have been given what will appear on your screen by the gaming companies.

Now you have the chance to make it what you want it to be. This is just one more way that Nintendo outshines the competition. They have gone out of their way to make as many aspects of the gaming console personalized as they can. If you aren’t personalizing your Mii though you are really missing out on some fun.

Why Use Game Cheats On The Nintendo Wii?

May 29, 2011 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

As more and more games are released on the Nintendo Wii and the popularity of the console increases significantly, the number of game cheat codes we see available also increases. However, should game cheats be seen a bad or good thing? Let's examine the main reasons why gamers use game cheats for the Nintendo Wii, so that you can decide for yourself if you should use them or not.

Nintendo created the Wii console for an audience that was growing increasingly alienated by the difficult game play and complexity of many of newer breed of video and computer games. More and more often, new games have turned into film like sequences where player's can only follow fixed paths and perform limited tasks. Although often beautiful looking, these video games lose much of the entertainment, skill, and fun that was evident in traditional style games.

What computer and video game producers saw as the latest state of the art games, others saw as a huge step backwards in game play and interactivity. The Nintendo Wii was specifically designed to solve these constraints by bringing fun and interactivity back in to the gaming market. They actually took this interactivity to a level that had never been seen before and have attracted a whole new breed of gamers.

Never before had gamers been so involved in the game play, and for the first time people actually had to get off their sofas to play their video games. The Wii has revolutionized the world of computer and video gaming. However, it was inevitable that this new revolution would soon get bombarded by Wii cheat codes for anyone that wanted them.

So what are game cheats for Wii?

Game cheats are special sequences of codes that you can get off the Internet, or from gaming magazines. You can then enter the codes into your Wii console. These codes then allow you to gain special abilities within a game, or even bypass certain sections or levels of a game altogether.

Why game cheats can be a bad thing

Wii cheat codes can take much of the fun out of Wii games. This is because the gamer will miss the whole purpose of what it means to play games the way they are meant to be played. Games on a Wii are based upon interaction between the player and the game, so using cheats to try and get an false advantage just so you can finish a game faster is something that true game players should not ever do. It can ruin a game and takes most of the entertainment and challenge out of it. If you abuse Wii game cheats for this purpose then you will miss out on many skills and challenges that Nintendo designed the Wii to do. Not only that, but video games can be expensive so cheating to finish a game sooner is wasting your hard earned cash.

When are game cheats good?

All gamers at some point have been stuck on a level of game that they just cannot get past. You may only be half way through the game and no matter how hard you try you just cannot get to next stage. In these occasions, a game cheat can assist you to finish the level before carrying on without using the cheat, therefore allowing you to get much more game play than otherwise possible.

Think before you cheat!

Wii video games are designed with player interaction in mind, so cheating to get an unfair advantage is kind of missing the point. It really makes no sense to start punching in cheat codes just for the sake of it, because by removing the skill and interaction from a game you have nothing left.

It's best to avoid using cheat codes on the Wii if you can, but every now and again it's worth using a code if you get really stuck and just need a bit of help with a tricky level or baddie. Cheating just because you can takes all the fun away!

Teenagers seem to be the biggest group of consumers for the Nintendo Wii games. That is why so many of the them are distinctly marketed for them. As a parent it can be difficult to decide which ones they should be playing. They may like some that are rated E for everyone but chances are they will want more action.

Many with blood, shooting, and action in other forms are rated T for Teens as well as M for Mature. You will need to decide where you draw the line for each of your children. Finding out about some of the choices for the Wii in this category can help you to stay informed. Chances are though your kids in this age group will be telling you exactly what games they are the most interested in. Take the time to talk to them about them so you can get a good indication of what the options are.

The music games seem to really be impressing this age group. Of course this is the time when a career as a rock star or something else that is high profile and pays extremely well is still something they imagine. There are several Guitar Hero games with an newer version coming out later this year. It will allow more people than ever to play against each other at one time.

The Rock Band games are very popular with the teenagers who love to play the Nintendo Wii as well. This offers more instruments including the drums accessory that you can buy for them. Both of these types of games feature various songs by popular artists so take the time to explore what music your teen likes before you buy any of them.

They can spend time inside when it is cold out having a great time staying active. They can also compete against their friends in the various activities. The Wii Fit will help them to get stronger, get into shape, and even improve their balance. You can’t complain too much if your teenager is spending a great deal of time playing such games on the Wii.

Racing games are popular with any age group and that includes the teenagers. Some of them are getting very excited about getting a learners permit. Others already have their license. Yet being able to race Mario with the Mario Kart game is something completely different. Make it as much fun for them as you can by buying the steering wheel accessory for them to go with it.

Super Smash Brothers is another game with Mario in it that teenagers are very impressed with. You can choose from any of your favorite Nintendo characters including Sonic the Hedgehog. This is a type of duel events with each of the characters having their own powers and weaknesses. You will have to learn how to use the ones for the character that you are fighting with. At the same time though you will have to be prepared for the forces that your opponent is able to offer.

You will likely find that you also enjoy many of the same games as your teenagers. Take some time to play them with them. They will think you are very cool while you interact over Wii games. It can help bridge that generation gap that usually does occur. Teenagers often think they have all the answers and their parents are too old to understand. Some really fun times can come along when you spend time playing the Wii with your teenagers.

The cost of these popular Nintendo Wii games for your teenagers are going to vary. Some of them are only about $30 but the majority of them are about $60. The most expensive seems to be the Wii Fit for about $175 but that is one activity that is really worth the investment.

Which video game system should you buy? – Part 1

It doesn't matter if you are four years old or eighty-four years old, there is one video game system that you are sure to enjoy. How do I know? I have witnessed it first hand. From my young niece to my elderly mother-in-law and every age in between, this is a video game system like no other. Hands down, if you are looking for a video game system that everyone in the house can enjoy, you need to buy the Nintendo Wii.

The Nintendo Wii is an entirely new age of entertainment and gaming for the young as well as the young at heart. The system costs about $250 and comes with a disk that contains five interactive sport games. The games on the included disk include bowling, baseball, boxing, tennis, and golf. Along with the console and game disk, you will get one regular remote controller in the box. Other games and a multitude of different kinds of controllers can be purchased later.

One thing I enjoy about the Wii is that it is so interactive. When you get ready to bowl or golf, you are literally standing and going through the motions just as you would in real life. The other kinds of controllers I mentioned include everything from tennis rackets to golf clubs. These controllers add a new real life dimension to an already great product. I have yet to see another video game system that even comes close to comparing in this way.

Another great aspect of the Wii is that the console itself is small and can fit just about anywhere in your home. This size factor also makes the Wii quite portable if you want to take it with you someplace without carrying a huge bundle. It is a very convenient console if being mobile is important to you.

Games for the Wii range in prices from about $20 to upwards of $50. The games include everything from puzzle games, sporting events, Sims, and so much more. There are games for every age and there is truly something for everyone that wants to play the Wii. Speaking of which, many of the games are multiple player and allow larger groups to enjoy the fun. So, go ahead and invite more than one friend over for a game of bowling or some action packed adventures.

So, why get the Nintendo Wii as your next video game system? Get it because it is an active way to enjoy time with your entire family and for a fairly reasonable price. You can finally get your children and spouse off the couch without them complaining. More importantly, get it because it is not only the video game system of the present times, but also of the future.

Which video game console is better: XBox 360 or PlayStation 3? – Part 5

the video game industry started small with the familiar name of Nintendo. There were other companies that were added or dropped like playstation, sega, xbox, etc. We have entered a seventh generation of consoles where it's between the xbox 360, playstation 3, and the nintendo wii. One of the big questions that has popped up constantly is "which one is better? the ps3 or the xbox 360?" I tend to perfer the ps3 for personal and other reasons. I will not say that the xbox 360 is a hunk of junk because in terms of sales, it's beating all the other systems. I respect the system, but unfortunately there are some who have to brag that the xbox 360 is the best system and vice versa. but I'll avoid that as much as possible.

The ps3 is actually one of the most impressive pieces of technology. it has wi-fi, blue tooth, wireless controllers. it doesn't seem that much different from the xbox 360 except there is a distinct factor the ps3 has. the ps3 has the capability to read blu-ray discs, discs that have 5 times the amount of storage compared to a regular dvd. so theoretically, the ps3 games should have an impressive amount of graphics and gameplay. the xbox 360 used the HD format by Toshiba (now defunct) and so they're back to using a dvd format. Even if the graphics of xbox 360 games are at the same level of the ps3, you'll have to change disc frequently because the memory is not that big. the blu-ray is a great feature to have.

Hard Drive Transfer Cable for Xbox 360

Since there's no way to avoid this, Another good point about the ps3 is the reliability. I have never heard of any major technical problems from this system. for an 80 gigabyte model at $500, it better not have any. joking, anyway it's reliability has been good. Unfortunately for the xbox 360, there have been numerous reports about some major technical problems. There are the RROD and scratched discs. When the xbox 360 overheats, it's power changes from green to red and flashes three times. That has been dubbed as the red ring of death because it means your system is overheated and you have probably lost your hard drive. It's a very horrible problem to have. the scratched discs occur when you tilt or move the console. considering games are averaging about $45 dollars, it's economically draining.

The controller is another strong point because it hasn't changed much. other than losing the vibration unit and going cordless, the ps controller hasn't changed that much. The xbox controller has gone through some changes, but because of its unusual shape, I probably could never get used to it. it varies for people, but I prefer having something small and able to fit in my hand nicely.

the point that I do give the xbox 360 is the wider selection of titles. the ps3 hasn't been out as long as the xbox 360 so there aren't too many titles out yet. with the years to come, this will change. I'm hoping that as the developers familiarize themselves with the graphic engine, the games will be better and quicker.

In the end it's up to you, the consumer. if anything, just remember how long the ps2 has been around and the number of titles it's had in it's run.

Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 13

I believe the Nintendo Wii is better than the Playstation 3. There are a few factors that I base my decision on, the first one being price. I love video games, but I am not one to go camp outside a store 3 days before the release of a new system, and pay $500 or more for just the console itself. I usually don't purchase a new game console until it has dropped in price, at least a little. At the Wii's release, it was selling for around $300, while the PS3 was at $599. When I purchased my Wii, about 5 months after it's release, I was able to get it for $249. It came with the Wii Sports game and one Wii remote. At that same time, the Playstation 3 was still selling for $599, and it only included a DVD remote.

Nintendo Wii Line @ Times Sq. -NY NY

Another thing I like better about the Wii is the interaction. The Wii is the only game console where you actually "live" inside the game. You swing the remote to swing the baseball bat or tennis racket, instead of just pressing "A". I believe this ability to interact has made the Wii so favorable over other game systems. It's a workout for your whole body, and not just your thumbs.

A third reason I chose the Wii is the game selection. This reason is purely opinion. I have been a huge Mario fan since I received my first Nintendo about 18 years ago. And it's not just Super Mario anymore. Now it's Mario Party, and games that feature Luigi and Wario. Wii also offers my newest favorite game, Cooking Mama: Cook Off. While I am sure there are awesome games out there available only for the PS3, but I prefer the Wii games over any.

Best gifts for a 14

One of the most difficult things to do in life is to attempt to understand a teenager. They are sullen, rude, unpredictable and hormonal. The idea of having to spend your hard-earned cash on someone who can only communicate in grunts leaves you filled with resentment. Then you remember that you are the adult, therefore must take the higher ground by reaching out to them with a physical expression of your love.

As an English teacher in a secondary school, I try desperately to make a living from attempting to reach out to such people. From what I can gather, it seems that their main wish is to simply 'be understood.' Easy, right?

So you need to find a present which demonstrates how much you 'understand' your 14 year old boy. Most teenagers seem to enjoy their equivalent of what we used to call 'music,' so depending on your child's taste, a cd compilation of heavy drum 'n' bass dance tunes, or an album by a band whose name invariably begins with 'The' could be a good way to go. I suggest getting a compiliation rather than individual songs as teenagers are usually able to download songs from the internet, but this is more difficult with albums.

If the boy in question is more of an outdoorsy type, sports equipment could be a good idea. Some football memorabilia or clothing perhaps. Most boys like fun indoor games like a miniature pool table or a Scalextric set.

If you have a fairly high budget, you cannot go wrong with a games console. A Nintendo DS has a range of games which are more educational if you are not an advocate of the violent, shoot 'em ups that many kids love. A Nintendo WII is also a good (albeit very expensive) buy if your child is somewhat of a couch potato, many hours of flinging their arms around frantically is bound to make even the laziest offspring shed a few pounds.

Most teenage boys are highly concerened about their body image, so a nice thoughtful way to show that you understand their fears could be to buy them a posh set of hair gunk, or some very masculine-looking smellies. A t-shirt with a designer label blazened across it may also help your teenager achieve their goal of looking 'cool.'

If you would like to encourage your teenage boy to read (no ulterior motives from me here) a book by Eoin Colfer or Anthony Horowitz should go down a treat.

As I've said a few times now, most teenage boys just want to be understood. What better way to understand your teenager is there than actually spending time with them? Although they may not show much enthusiasm at first (god forbid you actually show your parents that you love them) a day out to a theme park or to see a footie match could do wonders for your relationship.

If howver you are simply buying for a relative, you could help their parents out in the bonding department by buying them tickets for something that they could do together. There are many types of 'gift experiences' for sale online or in the Argos catalogue, e.g. quad biking, body flying, sphereing or even driving a sports car for 30 mins. Be warned that their parents may not thank you for vlunteering them for skydiving without consulting them first.

Well, I hope that this list has given you a few useful ideas and I wish you happy hunting.

Want a Wii Under your Tree? Better Buy Nintendo Wii Online

Nintendo as well as most game manufacturers stockpile their consoles during the summer months

to prepare for the holiday seasons. Even though nintendo has been making 1.8 million units

per month, they get snatched up as soon as they hit the shelves at local retailers. It seems

to be a must to buy nintendo wii online if you want to snag one this year.

Nintendo can't really be blamed for the shortages because there is no way they could have

anticipated such high demand for nintendo wii consoles. It seems any nintendo product is the

must have for this year. Nintendo ds and wii reach record sales during thanksgiving week.

They sold 653 thousand nintendo ds units and 350 nintendo wii home systems. Based on these

custom nintendo wii kiosk

figures and the current demand that sales could easily reach 1.5 million units sold through

the end of December.

The nintendo ds and nintendo wii systems offer fun for the entire family. This is a way to

maximize your spending for the holiday season by choosing something for the entire family.

It has been frustrating for so many shoppers trying to find a nintendo wii. Most shopper are

having to buy nintendo wii online in places like ebay and amazon where there seems to be an

endless supply unlike with the local retail stores.

Maybe nintendo's production was too conservative and these shortages are forcing customers

to buy somehting else this year. Nintendo executives don't seem to be too concerned and believe

customers will hold out for their unique nintendo wii system. It seems like everyone wants a wii.

If you want one this year, odds are that you had better consider buying nintendo wii online.

It's hard to believe that after only 12 months on the market there have been 5 million nintendo

wii units sold. This has made wii the fastest selling video game console. Quite an achievement.

Walmart has even resorted to selling wii gift cards in the amount of the retail price of a

nintendo wii console. Personally I think kids would be pretty disappointed to get a gift card

instead of a nintendo wii console. Sure they can buy a console later, but that is just no fun.

So you will have to buy nintendo wii online or camp out at your local retail store and hope you

can snag a wii. That seems to be the only way to have a wii under your tree this year. Online

shopping is very safe and secure. Now keep in mind due to demand prices have increased a bit,

but some of the auctions are still at the suggested retail price. Stand in line, get a wii

gift card or buy nintendo wi online? I think I would have to go with the later.

Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 18

November 22, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment

The Wii is by a wide margin the better system of the two. here is my analysis of the subject...

First off, I saw the guy (Verny) on the PS3 side said to forget about game-play as part of his argument... what the hell are you buying a video GAME system for again? seriously, games are meant to be played, nothing personal but you just can't forget about game play... And to get it out of the way, yes, the PS3 is going to have the better graphics of the two systems... but better graphics are not going to guarantee that you are going to like the games you are looking at... Nintendo has a legacy of classic games such as Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and now Smash Brothers. Granted a lot of people may dismiss these games as childish but can you say they are bad... hell no... in fact Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is quite possibly one of the best games of all time and that was a game from the Nintendo 64... Nintendo has consistently good games is the main point... with Nintendo you know that there will be quality game-play... Another example, Wii Sports... again, childish graphics, but the games are fun to play... ask anyone to try it... I haven't met a person that hasn't liked those games...

Now people will say, "What about Madden?", "What about Guitar Hero?"... I'll give them Madden, i look forward to seeing the next Madden release... but Guitar hero on PS3, well according to a college buddy of mine, who recently sold his PS2 since he has a PS3, There are no controller ports since the PS3 is completely wireless, so unless your guitar controller is wireless as well then you're S.O.L. be prepare to shell out more cash for that... and that guy? he had to get his PS2 back in the meantime to get his Guitar Hero fix...

Speaking of paying more, how about the price difference... one could buy TWO Nintendo Wii systems (providing one can locate them) for the price of one PS3... enough said...

And how about backwards compatibility? With the Wii you can also play Gamecube disks or for a real old-school treat you can go on-line and download Nintendo and super Nintendo games in the mean time...

Breakdown:

PS3.........|..........Wii

* Graphics

Game-play *

Reply Value *

Cost *

Technology *

Final Verdict: Either way you're going to enjoy whatever system you choose... the Wii just seems to be the better all around buy. And Verny, if you doubt that the Wii is a good system and you only have a theory about it, I encourage you to go out and play one. If you don't like the nunchaku controller, you can always plug in the gamecube controller and give it another try...

Features Of The Nintendo-wii Game Console

Nintendo-Wii, the seventh generation video game systems, was launched by Nintendo in September 2006. The Wii video system pronounced `we` gather people of all ages and experience, together to play. The evocative name coupled with classic features, Nintendo Wii, has caused lot of ripples in the video game industry and it targets to broader section of people than occupied by Sony`s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft`s Xbox360. As of December 31st, 2007, 20.13 million of Nintendo Wii has been sold.

The current package includes the following: Wii console, remote with strap, one Nunchuk, AC adaptor, composite A/V cable, console stand, sensor bar and stand, two AA batteries and sports game.

The most extraordinary feature of this gaming console is the wireless controller, the Wii Remote and the WiiConnect 24. Measuring 1.7 x 6.2 x 8.5 inches (44 x 157 x 215.4 mm), and weighing only 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg), Nintendo wii comes as the smallest home gaming console and lightest among the three major players of the seventh generation gaming consoles.

The Wii has a powerful 512 MB internal flash memory, two number USB 2.0 ports and a slot provided for SD memory expansion. The SD card can be used for a variety of purpose, for example, as a back up for saved game data and downloaded virtual console games, for uploading photos, for creating customized music in the game, etc.

The heart of the system`s technology is a processing chip developed along with IBM and graphics chip from ATI. The processor chip is named as `Broadway` and the graphics chip is named as `Hollywood`. It uses a single, self loading media bay that plays both Nintendo Gamecube discs as well as 12 centimeter optical discs required for the new system.

The magical Wii remote has some striking features. The accelerometers located inside the controller and infrared detector to sense the position in 3D space can measure movements at all speeds and all directions. In a driving game it serves as your steering wheel. In Tennis game, you can use this as your racket to swing away and there are many more examples. The controller has expansion port for use with accessories as well it has force feedback `Rumble` features. The Wii Remote also has a small speaker at the center, allowing players to hear sounds programmed directly into the controller.

If you prefer the feel of a traditional controller, you can connect an adapter which is available and easily fits over the Wii`s remote.

The Wii console is backward compatible with Nintendo Gamecube software. The console can communicate with internet even when there is no power. It can also communicate with Nintendo DS wirelessly without any accessories.

The WiiConnect 24 allows download to players via the Internet. The downloadable items may include weapons, new level costumes, etc. WiiConnect 24 while keeps Wii on all day long, uses minimal energy. However players can deactivate this at any time.

Wii`s operating system interface is divided into a number of smaller channels, designed similar to the television channels. The channels are graphically displayed in a grid and can be easily navigated using Wii Remote. A short list of the available channels is as follows: forecast channel, photo channel, news channel, virtual console channel(s), Wii Shop Channel, internet channel, Wii message board, everybody votes channel and disc channel.

While playing offline, a maximum of four controllers can be used in Wii. Rather than focusing only on a costly technology, Nintendo is looking forward to put an emphasis on gameplay and innovation with Wii and company`s intention is to reach out to everybody including amateurs.

Nintendo Wii: the Real Game Console

The Wii game console coming from the home of Nintento is the fifth home video home game console coming in the row and a direct successor to the Nintendo Game Cube. Nintendo released the new Nintendo Wii game console targeting Xbox 360 from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 from Sony. The attractive feature of the game console is Wii Remote, the wireless controller that can be used as a handheld pointing device that can detect acceleration in three dimensions. Another feature is the WiiConnect24, which has the ability to receive messages and updates through the Internet in standby mode. It was in 2004, that Nintendo first opened up on the idea of the console and it was later unveiled in 2005.Nintendo announced the release information for Japan, North and South America, Australasia (Oceania), Asia and Europe, including dates, prices and projected unit distribution numbers on September 14, 2006.

Nintendo Wii succeeded in marking record sales since its launch by taking the total sales to a higher rate than its competitors in the market. As per the NPD Group, the Wii has made more sale of units in North America than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 combined in the first half of 2007. This was much larger in the Japanese market, where it currently leads not only in total sales, but usually outsells both consoles by 3:1 to 6:1 every week.

The Nintendo Wii console is the smallest home unit to date with a measurement of 44 mm (1.73 in) width, 157 mm (6.18 in) height and 215.4 mm (8.48 in) depth in its vertical orientation. The front of the console has an illuminated slot-loading optical media drive that has both 12 cm Wii Optical Discs and Nintendo GameCube Game Discs. Nintendo Wii has console comes in white, black, silver, lime green and red, but is currently available only in white. The Wii launch package consists of the console, a stand to allow the console to be placed vertically, a circular clear stabilizer for the main stand, one Wii Remote, one Nunchuk attachment, one Sensor Bar, a removable stand for the bar, one external main power adapter, two AA batteries, one composite AV cable with RCA connectors, operation documentation and a copy of Wii Sports.

I believe certain video games allow you to have a benefit because video games give you creativity. It takes you to a place you could never go in real life. Video games are like dreams that come to life on a T.V screen. These days there are video games that express somebody's dream in the world. There are games that you play on the new Wii made by Nintendo. Wii is probably the best Nintendo has every done because everybody can play Wii. An I mean exactly get to be part of the game like your exactly doing the driving, the flying, the sword fights with your control. I read in last months ESx I believe that is the name of the magazine. Anyways, it has a survey of senior citizens that played Wii an really enjoyed it. They said they would of whether be playing this video games instead of knitting. I believe they liked it so much because they could drive, fly, or get around as good as they use to. So they really enjoyed being able to do all those things they use to even if it was on a screen. It felt better than real life because it was fantasy I think dreams and fantasy are better than real life. All these games really take you to what you consider your dream come true. I mean you get the benefit of being entertained most likely never bored that is for sure. I mean I have played many video games in my life. I prefer the Super Nintendo which was the video game I ever played an got hooked on it. I stayed up all not playing Super Mario Bros. The best game I feel that has every came out. My benefit from that one though was just being a kid an having something to do on Friday nights and after homework time.

Benefits of playing video games

All videos games that are enjoyable are already beneficial because it gives you something to do for relaxation. Unlike the TV where you just watch and do not interact, you are always interacting with video games. It has been proved that the amount of brain activity that goes on inside ones head is greater in video games then many other activities like watching TV. You are always thinking and reacting to what goes in in the video game. Not all video games have the same benefits but they do have them none the less.

Fitness and Weight Loss

The Nintendo Wii video games are probably the most well known video games for exercise. While these games are fun you are burning away the calories that you need to loose for you diet. Others play the Wii to stay in shape.

Nintendo Wii Line @ Times Sq. -NY NY

Logic and Strategy

Games that have puzzles and logical problems such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are great way to test you ability to solve problems. These can even sometimes teach you new ways of thinking and keep you on your toes.

Literacy and Writing

While your not going to find too many games that will expand your vocabulary you will find an exceptionally large amount of games that have reading in them. Games that are found on the Nintendo DS use text to explain evens going on and how you know what the characters in the game are saying. This also applies even to almost all games.

Retaining Memory

MMOs are probably the best examples for memory games. The thing about an MMO is that there is so much to do. You have to remember what you did before or you will have to relearn it. Other games that are on the smaller scale might be card matching games or Mario Tennis.

Reflexes

The first person shooter games are the best examples of helping improve your reflexes. You have you react as fast and as accurately as possible to success in these games. People who play these types of game usually have a higher average concerning their speed of reflexes.

Typing

Games that support multi-player or games that depend on multi-player such as MMOs heavily promote typing. I have learned how to type through video games, and I have them to thank for it. Many of my friends have learned to type through video games.

Learning a Foreign Language

This one is not too common but like people learn foreign languages through TV, people do learn foreign languages through video games. This can apply to pretty much any video game that has speech and/or text.

Nintendo Wii or Playstation3? Fun or Serious Play?

October 21, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

Well here comes the Wii vs. Playstation3 battle again, in time for the Christmas holiday.

Since Nintendo Wii is in very high demand with the Wii system being more difficult to find, it's possible that the PLaystation3 will benefit, because their sales last year were far lower than the Wii. If you are trying o find a Wii system, should you consider a Playstation3 if you can't get the Wii?

They are very different, but both excellent systems. The Sony PS3 is the high-end, bells-and-whistles choice between the two. It has hi-def graphics, comes with its own a hard disk, and also includes a Blu-ray Disc drive which has top image quality. It also comes in several versions, with the 60GB hard drive version being much more expensive at $600 retail price.

The Nintendo Wii system costs about $250, and includes wireless Wi-Fi capabilities. Like the PS3, it has a slot for an SD Card and can display photos, but unlike the PS3 it does not play movies. Nintendo hopes to add that to the Wii in the future.

The best thing about the Wii is that it has a unique remote and nunchuck combination, as well as a huge library of games. While the PS3 has a lot more
horsepower and better graphics, they just don't have the same volume of game choices. When Wii came on the market last year, there were sixty two games available, and since it became so popular, many more have appeared.

Even though the Wii's graphics are limited to standard
definition, what makes the Wii so much fun is the remote technology. It is motion-sensing technology, so that a player's physical motion moves the game play on the screen. For example, if you're playing football, you make a passing motion with the remote to pass the ball. A sword fight will require a little air-fencing as part of the game participation.

The Wii is very accessible for all ages because of this motion-sensing remote play, and in addition the price is more affordable. Wii also has a supplementary controller piece called the Nunchuk which is a joystick-type device that works together with the motion-sensing remote for some games that have more actions.

The Nintendo Wii provides more of a simple box with unique controls that is designed for fun. The Wii can play GameCube games (Nintendo's last offering) and has been introduced with a new addition to the chart-busting Zelda game series. Nintendo also released many old favorites such as PacMan, which can be downloaded right onto the Wii. You can even access th Internet through the Wii.

Nintendo's decision to target casual gamers has paid off. While it might not sport the high end graphics of the PS3, it has a great future. Most average players just want to have fun, and don't care too much about how fabulous the graphics are. For serious gamers, the PS3 is the likely choice. For everyone else, there's the Nintendo Wii.

A look at the most popular video game console systems

Are you under pressure from the kids to buy a video game system? If you feel bewildered by the choice, cost and suitability for your child fear not, we can help.

Firstly let's consider what is on the market. You'll no doubt have heard of the top video game consoles, manufactured by Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. Each game console has it's benefits and drawbacks so we'll look at each briefly to give you an overview of what you'd be getting.

Playstation 3 is the imaginatively titled successor to the Sony Playstation and Playstation 2. The newest and costliest video game system at $400 for a 40GB model, it's the most powerful for graphics and sound, offering high definition picture and 5.1 surround sound. You get Wi-Fi straight out of the box allowing you to play online. The controllers are wireless and have basic motion sensing. The 40GB model is not backwards compatible with Playstation 2 games, but other models are.

The games are aimed at the 18-30 male market, with many age restricted titles coming out, such as the recent GTA IV. The Playstation 3 provides next generation graphics and is future proof, being a Blu-ray Disc player with HDMI connectivity for the best pictures.

The Nintendo Wii game console retails at $250. What it lacks in graphical power it makes up with innovation. The wireless Wii Remote resembles a TV remote and allows you to control the action using physical gestures. The Wii has Wi-Fi for web browsing and downloading games from Nintendo's earlier consoles, including the NES and Nintendo 64. The Wii is backwards compatible with the Nintendo Gamecube.

The games, such as Wii Sports, are aimed at a wider demographic than the other consoles and many games are multi-player. Due to the unique controller young and old are able to play. With innovative ideas, such as the recent Wii Fit, which aims to get us exercising, the Wii is perfect for families and social gaming

Microsoft's XBOX 360 video games console, in terms of power is similar to the Playstation 3. The casual user would find it hard to distinguish between the two, with the same HD and surround sound output. You can also subscribe to the popular XBOX Live online service with a Wireless Network Adapter, costing $100. The console comes in 3 packages to suit any budget, ranging from $280 to $450. The 360 is backwards compatible with some standard XBOX games but you do need to be internet connected.

The 360 is aimed at the same demographic as the Playstation 3. What you do need to be aware of is the 'exclusive' titles that only appear on one platform. For instance Halo is XBOX only and Gran Turismo Playstation only.

There are two hand held video game consoles on the market. Sony's PSP and the Nintendo DS. Like the Wii the DS has a unique control system, in this case touch screen, and is aimed at the same wide audience of young and old. The PSP is a portable Playstation 2 and will appeal primarily to teenage boys and young men.

Nintendo Wii Console New Gaming Experience For the Whole Family

Since the first video games have been on the market many parents have been willing to quickly purchase them aside from the kids begging for them. The home system means that the kids won't have to spend tons of quarters in the shopping mall arcades and the parents will actually know what the kids are playing or doing on their off hours. Nintendo has always been on the front lines as far as game console marketing to the ones that want the personal gaming experience, with Wii system being introduced, you may see that the future is Nintendo.

Many people have just heard about the Wii because of friends or family, they were 1st on the market last year and had a huge response causing a few people to miss out on one. Banners and signs waved wildly above the electronic stores enticing you to the knowledge that Wiis were in stock and ready for sale. The Christmas sales this year will surpass those of last year. If you are considering purchasing a game system for the whole family to enjoy then think about getting the Nintendo Wii.

Usually the reason for purchasing a game system is so that the children have more to occupy their time than texting their buddies, surfing the net, and other things. This is one reason that Wii has become so popular even past one anyone thought, if you do not believe this, just attempt to locate a Wii, many times there is a waiting list. The attraction of this game system is that it is made with the purpose of getting families involved. Not everyone likes the same music or the same thing, which is why the Wii is geared to something all people like, interaction.

The past game consoles usually involved 1 or 2 player devices, you possibly asked a friend to come over and play with you, usually you needed to be sure that you could be successful in your home ground first. Certain things have not changed but with the TVs being bigger and High Definition the games had to improve and bring more defined characters some based on TV shows and also bring the player more into the games. The one-person games still exist but daylight and selfishness do not mix. Wii has games for everyone such as tennis, bowling, baseball, and many more games that are about familiar games.

After you buy a Wii you will discover people, who do not appreciate the video game addictions, totally getting involved in the experience Wii provides through its technology. The games are not pretentious and even the small children can play the games due to the fact that the levels are based on what your knowledge of the sport and how it is played. It doesn't matter if you have not bowled prior to trying Wii bowling. You will be thrilled at knocking over the virtual pins, even though this does not replace real bowling, but you will get the same excitement and joy of its challenge.

In the past the parents would shop alone for what video game system to purchase, but nowadays the entire family gets to be involved in buying the Wii. Even both genders have representation as far as the game or the style of it is concerned. With the Wii Fit workout program the moms can reap benefits, dads practice their game of golf, and then the kids work on eye hand coordination through playing the games that need concentration. Your library of games will soon overflow due to all the types of games you have to choose from.

Video game reviews: Rock Band (Xbox 360, PS3)

Have you ever wanted to be in a band, and get the feeling what it is like to go on tour and have millions of fans screaming at how awesome you are? We now you can do with from the comfort of your living room. Rock Band for the XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3 does a fantastic job of incorporating video games and music. Not only is it good for video game developers, but artists and bands get to have their share of the game.

The entire Rock Band package comes with a drum kit, a guitar and a USB microphone. If you want to be able to play with one person on guitar and one person on bass, then you will need to purchase another guitar to use. Rock Band 2 comes with 84 songs to play, and for about $5.00 more, you can export all of the songs from the Rock Band 1 disc to your hard drive to play through Rock Band 2. Also there is a music store where you can purchase more songs to play for about $2.00 each. Right now there are a total of over 500 songs that can be played.

I already have a Nintendo Wii. When I found out that Rock Band 2 was going to be available I was pretty excited, but after I looked into it some more, then I realized that the Nintendo Wii was not going to be adequate enough. I remember when the first Rock Band came out for the Wii, many people were disappointed with it. With Rock Band 2 on the Wii, they integrated the Music Store into it, but for all of the music that you can download, it did not seem that the hard drive on the Wii would be able to hold all of the songs. Also if you wanted to play the Rock Band 1 songs on the Wii, you would have to change the discs as opposed to being able to export them to your hard drive like you can on the XBOX 360. Also the graphics on the XBOX 360 compared to the Wii are a lot better as far as detail is concerned.

The songs that are included on the discs and the ones that are available in the Music Store to download are really great rock songs. Some of the artists that you can download and play include the Foo Fighters, the Offspring, Lenny Kravitz, and more. Not only do they have these great new artists, but they are included some classics like the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Kansas, and more. They are creating quite a collection of songs to be able to play.

Now some of the downfalls of the game. First of all, if you guy the new wireless drum controller, make sure to be ready to by many, many AA batteries. The controller takes 3 AA batteries to power up the set, and they usually only last me a week or two depending

Play copied wii games software called "homebrew installer" is now available which allows you to literally play copied wii games without the need of using a mod chip in your Nintendo wii console and invalidating your warranty. This new software has a load of features and avoids all the stress and risk of opening up your machine and trying to fit the modification chip.

Previously Nintendo wii console owners if they have wanted to play copied wii games have had to either send their wii console away to get the chip placed inside their machine or have had to do a DIY job which is normally quite risky and invalidates your warranty.

To play copied wii games with this software is just one of the amazing features that this guide has including the following:-

Wii Motion Plus for Nintendo Wii controller

Play mp3 music on your Nintendo wii console

Play DVD movies on your Nintendo wii console

Play imported, usually region locked games on your Nintendo wii console

Unlock your wii safely without the need for inserting a mod chip

Get access thousands of downloads

Play classic games from classic consoles like the Snes and N64

Access to classic games is a great extra to this software which is done by an emulator which basically lets you play all the classic games from consoles varying from the N64, Snes and even the sega genesis. Games these days come with a lot of fancy graphics, but sometimes lacking in the good old game play that keeps you hooked for hours at a time. Once you get hold of this software you will find that you lock yourself away in a dark room for hours reminiscing just how good the game play actually was!

Access to the wii downloads package is also included with this great bit of software which gives you access to three different areas. You get access to the wii games, wii movies and also wii downloads section.

John - Oregon, USA

"Hi guys, i must say that i found a lot of use for your Homebrewinstaller product. After downloading it (your site certainly looked the business!), i found the instructions straightforward"

Louise - London, UK

"My kids wanted to play their downloaded games and dvd`s but couldn`t, as the Wii doesn`t allow this. Having bought Homebrewinstaller i immediately put it to use and it worked great!"

Sheldon - Albany, Australia

"Having looked all over the internet for a safe way to install homebrew, i found Homebrewinstaller. All the reviews i read were favourable and i bought it. In around 30 mins i had homebrew on my Wii"

This amazing new software is a great add on to any wii owner’s software collection adding a host of new avenues to go down when gaming including being able to play copied wii games. It has a host of new features that wii owners did not think was possible and will add extra capabilities to one of the best selling and innovative games consoles around at the minute.

Console reviews: The Nintendo Wii – Part 1

October 2, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

Finally. With all of the hype about next-gen graphics, High-Definition, newer sound cards and audio technology, I am very glad to see that Nintendo has touched on what really matters while playing video games: having fun.

The Wii is simply fun. Though it may not have particularly good graphics (who am I kidding, they're about the same as the PS2 launch titles' graphics) the Nintendo Wii will provide gamers of all ages with hours upon hours of entertainment. Children, Teenagers, Parents, even retired people will enjoy the Wii. Games such as Wii Sports involve exercise of all sorts; bowling, tennis, golf, and boxing, all at different levels depending on how into the games someone is.

The Wii allows players to create Miis, or mini-profiles to store their statistics with. The Miis appear as small, stick figure-like characters with a little more meat to them, and can be outfitted with different faces and colored clothing. Miis can be used in games such as Wii Sports, and can be shared online with friends. I was personally pleased with this feature - the PS3 and Xbox 360's profiles have not "body" - the other consoles' profiles are only text boxes indicating one's name and stats.

The Wii remote is another noteworthy feature of the console. It is linked to a motion sensor (wireless!) to the Wii. It is only held in one hand, unlike the controllers for the other major gaming consoles. It's always annoying to try and pick up the phone while playing an Xbox game, so being able to have a free hand is very useful. In games such as golf or bowling, a flick of the wrist while holding the Wii remote, or Wii mote, will result in a swing, or bowling motion. The sensor is rather accurate if properly calibrated, which can take anywhere from one to five minutes depending on the distance between your television and where you are holding your Wii mote. For games with more complex controls, a nunchuck is connected to the Wii mote, a small hand controller with a joystick and trigger. This is required for Wii boxing, Resident Evil 4, and other games to be played with two hands.

Yes, the Wii has poor graphics, but that doesn't really matter. You will have the most fun playing on the Wii, and while it is impossible to pretend that you won't notice the graphics, they really won't make a difference. Sword fighting with Link in the Legend of Zelda will always be more fun than Ridge Racer 7, no matter which resolution or processor is used. Plus, the Wii has many of the best games on it, and you know that you want to play games not just because they "look" good, but because they are enjoyable. Here are some of Nintendo's promising titles:

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Super Mario Brothers Galaxy

Wii Sports

The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess

No More Heroes

Call of duty 4

If you want to have fun, buy the Wii. If you want to drool over the graphics of a game that you don't really want to play, buy a PS3. And by the way, the Wii costs $250 - the PS3 costs $600, and the Xbox costs $400. So, why pay extra for better graphics when you can have more fun for less money? I definitely recommend the Nintendo Wii to anyone who can afford it.

Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii?

Okay, graphics and games seem to be the argument for the ps3 side.

Let's go over the whole ideas of the systems though?

PS3 a Duke not only video game system but a Multimedia system. Sony puts in the blue-ray player not only to push their format in the HD-DVD war but to also cost YOU more money. Awesome. NOT. Great for the gamer who wants to sit on their butt and play the same old games the same old way. This is just your original ps2 with more graphics and more internet capabilities.

Nintendo Wii, a revolutionary approach at gaming. Not only is it a system for everyone but also adapts to the needs of the everyday gamer. Yes you can still sit on your butt and play this system, but when you get so into it you stand up anyways LoL. Anybody can get into playing a Wii, non gamers love it and so do gamers. And the best part, everybody can afford it. The graphics are slightly disappointing yes but the graphics do not need to be upscale because of the types of games that are released for the wii. In my opinion a Nintendo Wii is great for a person who has friends and likes to play games with em.

The games for the Wii are fun games. Games you play with your friends or by yourself.

Some great titles are

Wii Sports- This package comes with your wii and it is so fun you don't need to buy an extra game for your wii when you buy the console.

Mario Party 8- C'mon this is the game you play with your friends and piss them off when you steal their stars, classic game but now with the wii mote

Trauma Center- A remake of the DS game absolutely great story line, amazing gameplay all around one of my favorite wii games I can't wait till another one comes out!

Cooking Mama- maybe this one isnt for the guys, but it attracts a female fan base (gasp) and is another game that is fun to challenge with your friends.

Rampage- Wii style, this is good stuff destroying with your wii mote OH YEAH

LEGEND OF ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS- LONG LONG awaited game, visually looks stunning on the Wii and do I have to even go on, you have to buy this game with your Wii

Pokemon Battle Revolution- great battles even syncs with your DS so you can take the pokemon from your ds and use them on your wii, awesome feature

I could go on and on, but those were some major highlights I would also like to include

Resident Evil 4- Wii Edition!- try using a knife in this game with a wii mote it is WAY too fun

Metroid Prime 3- Corruption

Super Smash Bros Brawl- the mother of all fighting games

Manhunt 2- who doesnt want to rip body parts off with your wii mote?

lets also keep in mind even though nunchuck/wii mote sets are 60 bucks you pay a lot less for accessories then you do with the ps3 or 360, so its a cheaper system that everybody can like. it is the innovative side of gaming something gamers have been waiting for awhile. Nintendo made a bold move that paid off in the end. I as a gamer was getting bored of ps2/gc/xbox, the wii made gaming just so much more interesting for me. I have turned into a Nintendo fan-girl since I got my DS and Wii because I am so into the games.

and did I mention YOU CAN SIT DOWN BE LAZY AND PLAY YOU WII

you might just actually have to move your arms

rough huh?

the wii just has so much more going for it then the ps3 does, now im not saying i hate the ps3 in fact I want one, I just dont have the money to buy it + games + accessories (and i get discounts on all that stuff!).

Just keep in mind games that are coming out like Madden 08 and Manhunt 2 are going to be a much better experience on the Wii, than on your regular old consoles.

I hope this helps anybody in their decisions!

Will the new Nintendo WII be a success?

Steering Wheel for Nintendo Wii Remote Controller w/Stand - White

The Nintendo Wii is already a success. It has already smoked the Sony Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360. Many have thought the Sony Playstation 3 would smoke the Nintendo Wii. However, it was not the case. It was expected that the Sony Playstation 3 would nail in the coffin of the Microsoft Xbox 360. However, the Playstation 3 did not nail the coffin of the Xbox 360. The Nintendo Wii has strengths of both consoles. However, it possesses neither the weaknesses of the Playstation 3 nor the Xbox 360. Is it a success? The Nintendo Wii is more of a success than the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360.

The Nintendo Wii is backwards compatible with the Nintendo Gamecube. However, it is not completely the case with the Xbox 360. It is difficult to play "best sellers" on the Xbox 360 console. The Playstation 3 is backwards compatible with the Playstation 1 and the Playstation 2.

But, the Playstation 3 comes with an outrageous price tag. The Nintendo Wii has a reasonable price tag of $250 to $300. As a result, Nintendo Wii is the hottest game console to get for Christmas. Combine the backwards compatibility along with the price tag, the Nintendo Wii has the lead over the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.

Asides from the backwards compatibility, you can download twenty years worth of Nintendo games onto the Wii's hard drive. That means you can download games for the following: Nintendo, Famicom, Super Nintendo, Super Famicom, Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and the Gameboy Advance. You get to play your favorite Nintendo classics on your Nintendo Wii. The Xbox 360 does have its special arcade with its Xbox Live service. However, the Playstation 3 does not have that feature. If you carefully think about it, this is more reason to buy the Nintendo Wii.

DVD is still a popular movie format. The Nintendo Wii is capable of playing DVDs. That should be a given. Online connectivity is free as long as you already have high-speed Internet service.

So far, the Nintendo Wii is a godsend.

It has a lot of things that the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 does not really possess.

The Xbox 360 has a habit of locking up and overheating. The Playstation 3 does not have that problem. However, the Playstation 3's problem is still the outrageous price tag.

The Nintendo Wii does not really have to deal with the problem of an outrageous price tag. So far, Nintendo has done a good job strictly keeping to video games. Sony made the mistake of marketing the Playstation 3 as more than a gaming console.

The Nintendo Wii is appealing to everybody. The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have not. So far, it is revealed that the Wii can be used as a fitness tool with the "Wii Fit."

When you factor in everything, to call the Nintendo Wii a success is an understatement. It has literally smoked both Sony and Microsoft. Overall, Nintendo has gotten the last laugh so far.

Sony should have taken the reigns over Nintendo and Microsoft. But, the Playstation 3 was marketed poorly.

I purchased my first Nintendo Wii yesterday, and have been playing constantly! From excessive playing, can the Wii overheat? If so, how long does it take?

In praise of the Nintendo Wii

Kitchen Cooking Kit for NINTENDO Wii

What can I say about the Nintendo Wii? It is awesome! I have been wanting a Wii for quite a while. My video game freak cousin bought one when they first came out and I'd had the pleasure of playing his several times and enjoyed it so much. The only game I had played on his was Wii Sports. Wii Sports is a game where you can participate in such activities as bowling, baseball and tennis among others.

This past Christmas my parents pulled through and bought me a Wii and let me tell you I was thrilled! The minute my boyfriend and I got home from my parent's house Christmas day we hooked it up and haven't stopped playing since. It's just so much fun. The best part about the Wii is that it gets you up and moving. You're not just sitting on the couch playing a video game, you're standing up bowling in your living room or playing guitar in your own Rock Band.

A few weeks ago my mom and sister finally found a Wii Fit and picked it up. I'd heard so much about Wii Fit and had played some of the games at my friend's house. I had been looking all over for it, but was unable to find one. Let me just tell you Wii Fit is a real workout. I never in a million years thought a video game would make me sweat, but it did. Wii fit allows you to track your weight and BMI on a daily basis. Make sure you go on it every day too, or they might not be too happy with you. You can do a series of yoga poses, strength building exercises, aerobic activities and balance games. It helps you to get into shape and tone your body. It also helps you work on your posture and your balance.

Another fun aspect of the Wii is that you can download old school Nintendo and Sega games right to your Wii console. They have all the classics like Super Mario Brothers, Yoshi's Island, Castlevania, Dig Dug, and Sonic to name a few. It's like going back in time and getting to play all those video games you enjoyed as a child. You have to buy the Wii points, but you can get about 1000 for ten bucks and that gets you two of the old school games, so it's totally worth it.

The great thing about the Wii is that anyone can do it, it crosses the generations. A five year old can play the Wii right along with their eighty five year old grandparent. It's so easy and so fun that everyone in the family will get something out of the Wii console. If you're on the fence about whether or not to buy a Wii I will strongly reccomend this purchase. In all my twenty seven years, I can say that the Wii is the best Christmas present I've ever recieved.

Games For Nintendo Wii Are As Unique As The Wii Itself

Nintendo Wii Remote and Nunchuck Controller

The ever changing video game industry took a giant leap when Nintendo released the Wii in late 2006. Unlike previous video game releases from Nintendo, and others, the Wii’s distinguishing features were not improved graphics, or faster game speed, or any of the countless other innovations that have dotted the gaming landscape. Instead, Nintendo’s Wii has ushered in a new way to play video games with its revolutionary control system.

The controller of the Wii system is a hand-held, wireless remote control that has the ability to sense movements in all directions. Instead of using a traditional joystick, players move, point, swing, and gesture with the remote control, and those movements are detected by infrared sensors on the game console. The result is an interactive gaming experience that can not be had on any game system, especially when you are playing games for the Nintendo Wii because they are designed to take full advantage of all that the Wii has to offer.

Wii Sports is a game that features five game simulations – tennis, golf, baseball, boxing, and bowling – and the natural movements in sports make for a great platform for the Wii to strut its stuff, so it should come as no surprise that Nintendo included Wii Sports with each purchase of a Wii system. However, it is the games for Nintendo Wii that are not included with the game system that continue to drive people to the stores and online retailers.

At the top of the list of games for Nintendo Wii is Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which is the latest in a series of Zelda games, but the first that is compatible with the Wii system. Launched alongside the Wii, Zelda allows loyal fans to continue their adventures in ways that only the Wii can allow. Medal of Honor: Vanguard is another new release of an old favorite. Medal of Honor continues its realistic World War II “shoot em” action, while in another release everyone’s favorite hedgehog makes his Wii debut in Sonic and the Secret Rings.

Hardcore gamers consider one of the best games for Nintendo Wii to be WarioWare: Smooth Moves. Considered to be an ideal platform for all the Wii can do, WarioWare is another game that continues on an existing series. WarioWare relies on a series of microgames – games based on simple movements that can often last only a few seconds each. The player is given rapid game scenarios with instructions that hint at the required action. Making the correct movements allows the player to move on to the next game, whereas too many mistakes will force the player to start over. The concept of movements as the key to success makes this one of the most ideal games for Nintendo Wii.

Countless new games for Nintendo Wii are sure to hit the market, especially as the popularity of the game platform is growing. Regardless of the theme of the game, the unique controller is sure to make all future games for the Nintendo Wii unlike anything one could play with any other gaming system.

What Can You Get Out Of The Latest Version Of Nintendo Wii

September 5, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

With a price tag of $250 or less, Nintendo's Wii is reputed to be cheaper than most seventh generation game consoles. It also aims for a wider market demographic than its competitors. Hence, it is equipped with the capacity to be compatible with other platforms including the Internet.

Coming at only a few millimeters in height and width, the Wii is the smallest game console to ever rollout from Nintendo. And at only 2.7 pounds, it is the lightest among the present game consoles on the market. What's more, the Wii can be placed in a horizontal or a vertical orientation; so there is no reason for you not to find a perfect space and position to keep it.

While the best features it may have to offer are its ability to receive messages and updates online via WiiConnect24 and its low electrical consumption, the following are some more of the unique features that Wii has to offer.

One-Handed Controller

A striking feature about Nintendo's Wii is the remote controller that can be used with only one hand. The controller makes use of infrared sensors and accelerometers that are super sensitive to the user's movements and can detect the way it is positioned in a three dimensional platform. With this controller, a gamer can play using his or her movements rather than mere button-pressing.

The controller also features force feedback technology wherein players can feel vibrations to better simulate the game being played in a real world scenario. Best of all, Wii controller has an internal speaker that enhances the feel of the game being played. Wii also comes with a nunchuk unit for that more traditional touch of an analog stick and trigger buttons.

Equipped with Bluetooth, the Wii controller is connected to the console without the limitations posed by cords. And it can also be connected to other devices thru a port located under the controller.

Retro-Compatibility

Wii offers retro or backward compatibility with Nintendo GameCube software and some hardware. This means you can enjoy GameCube games on your Wii. The console comes with four GameCube controller panels as the Wii remote controller can't be used for GameCube games. It also has a slot for GameCube memory cards if you want to save games.

Parental Restrictions

The Wii console comes equipped with parental control capability. Parents can prohibit very young kids from playing games with unsuitable contents. Wii automatically checks the content rating of games being played. If a game doesn't meet the restrictions set, Wii won't load the game unless an override password is keyed in.

Buy a Nintendo Wii

It was called "Nintendo Revolution". Nintendo Wii is the Nintendo Version that plays NTSC and encodes any disc format. With its cool look, the latest Japanese console is made of top-notch materials and comes with a compact, witty design.

Nintendo has taken on the approach of improving its entire system and not just taking from what their competition released. The Nintendo Wii controller that is special-motion sensitive.

The difference is that you can punch, drive or strike a sword by turning your wrist instead of pushing the button.

Its size is three DVD cases piled atop another. It is available in a silver stand, enabling the system to be displayed horizontally or vertically.

If you have been a Nintendo fan over the years, this console can play games compatible with the Nintendo GameCube. It can also download fan-favorite titles from the past 20 years for Nintendo 64 and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

The Wii costs at around $250. This rate is cheaper than the Microsoft Xbox 360 and way cheaper than Sony PlayStation 3. The packaging of the Nintendo Wii includes a sports game that is quite addictive. That alone will let you feel first-hand what the system's controller is all about.

In recent news, Nintendo Wii has outsold Sony's PlayStation 3. Both components were released toward the end of the year (the former was available mid-November while the latter in mid-December).

There was a speculation that PlayStation 3 will be the best-selling game console all over the world. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Nintendo has managed to ship 4 million Wii's worldwide on December 31. That is twice the number of PlayStation 3's promised to deliver. As 2006 closed down, Nintendo had already sold 600,000 Wii eight days after it debuted on November 19.

It could be the price. Nintendo Wii can be purchased at $250 whereas a Sony PlayStation 3 costs $600.

If all these have sparked your interest, you can buy Nintendo Wii in your local stores. You can also buy them online :www.amazon.com and www.bestbuy.com. You can compare prices from one store to another. Some sell them cheaper than the standard price.

By buying it on eBay, you also get a discount. That depends though whether you're willing to go for a second-hand console.

However anyway you decide to get it, seems like Nintendo has managed to do well with this system.

Xbox 360: Smart Gaming Device

The new Xbox 360 video-game console from Microsoft was developed in cooperation with IBM, ATI and SiS. The Xbox Live of this console allows the players to compete online and download content such as arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, and movies. The Xbox 360 gaming console is the successor to the Xbox, and comes out competing with the contemporaries including Sony’s PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 2

The Nintendo Wii, a gaming system for all ages. Now I have nothing against the Playstation 3 but the Wii is for hardcore gamers and beginners all alike while a it's kind of hard for a small child to play a PS3. Beginning the proud owner of a Wii. I know it's not only fun but you also get a good work out if playing games like Wii sports or Wii fit. The PS3 just involves sitting on your butt and where is the fun in that.

PS3 may have a blu-ray but what is the point if you have an HD T.V. On the other the Nintendo Wii has the ability to play games from all your favorite classic consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment system to the Nintendo 64. The Wii also has great feature which is to make your own virtual self called a Mii.

Nintendo Wii Demonstration

The Mii is also used also in a great variety of games like Wii Fit, Guitar Hero World Tour, Mario Kart Wii, Wii play, Wii Music and, many more! The Playstation 3 is a good system but it is the priciest one out there. PS3 prices range from 399.99 to 499.99 where as the Wii is only 249.99. Wii has many fun features such as Wii channels. The Wii channels are available for purchase from the Wii shop store.

There are channels such as the Internet channel(500 Wii points; $5.00), the Check Mii Out channel which allows to enter your Miis in to contest and download other people's Miis, the Photo Channel allows you to edit your very own photos you took which your digital camera and many more. All the Playstation 3 has is PS home which is just an avatar in a very small virtual world. The PS3 also has no backward compatibility with the PS2 (that feature was removed) to save money.

Just because the PS3 has the PS network does not mean anything just rent a movie from netflix. I personally feel that the Playstation 3 was also poorly made but that's besides the point. I'm just here to say that if you want fun and great times for the entire family get the Nintendo Wii. The Playstation 3 on the other hand is a good game system but not a great due to it's price limited family fun. Thank you for reading my article and hope you make the right choice and choose a great system not only for but the whole family.

Nintendoo Wii Games Downloads Websites – are They Just a Scam or Genuine? – an Honest Review

August 28, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

As a self-confessed addict of Nintendo Wii games I recently went on google to search for Wii games to download and I came across a wii games website called “Unlimited Wii Downloads”. It’s a relatively new website where you can download as many wii games as you like for a small 1-time fee. There are no monthly charges or download limits, you are given full unrestricted life time access to their large database of Nintendo Wii downloads. I signed up not so much in expectation but hope, having had several disappointing experiences in the past with so called “free” download sites.

Unlimited Wii Downloads tell you straight away that this is not a free download site, but the cool thing is you only have to pay a small fee of $33 once for unlimited life-time access to Nintendo wii downloads.

Unlimited Nintendo Wii Downloads claim to have access to the fastest downloads on the net, whether this is true or not cannot be confirmed but it’s certainly a very well put together wii games website which appears fully above board and genuine, which is a major plus as I’ve seen so many of these type of websites in the past either full of unlikely boasts about the benefits of their products or downright dishonest and possibly illegal.

The legality of these downloads is 100 per cent above board, legal and genuine and Unlimited Wii Downloads have a very solid legal foundation in their terms and conditions, which is important to point out as this does help to mark them out from other less reputable companies, which are mainly found within the music download industry and less so in the computer gaming and wii games download market.

As well as getting access to thousands of Nintendo Wii games, the user can also access thousands of Wii Music titles, TV Shows, Software and more, this makes for a very attractive package, which coming in at $33 is good value.

The quality of technical support is one of the most important factors I find when signing up for any online service such as this, I have to say that the technical support I received from Unlimited Wii Downloads was excellent, the email I received was prompt, polite and highly instructive without being too technical.

The Nintendo wii games download software is very easy to install and gets you up and running in seconds, the fact that there are no monthly fees is great, just one payment of $33 and you have complete unlimited access for life, it’s refreshing to see this as many other similar download sites tend to reel you in with a small initial charge but then add on other charges and monthly fees that leave you angry and disillusioned.

The quality of the wii games, movies and music is highly impressive, all in very high quality digital format, and the huge selection of Nintendo wii games, movies and music is mind blowing, over 980 million files apparently, also there are no nasty surprises such as spy ware or ad ware that you get with other less reputable download companies, this is another major plus of this program, all in all I would recommend this product to anybody who wants access to thousands of Nintendo wii games, music, movies and more, you can find more information about this product by clicking on the link in the resource box at the bottom of this article.

Used Nintendo Wii Systems – Part 1

August 21, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

There are many reasons why many should consider buying a used Nintendo Wii system for there house or as a gift for a close friend. This article will hopefully calm your nerves from buying anything used nowadays, but there is many reasons purchasing used should not be scary at all with the right reasons and precautions.

First of all, purchasing a used Nintendo Wii system online or through a classified ad should be taken with precaution. The seller should offer some type of return policy if it’s an online e-commerce store. If you found a used Wii through a personal classified ad, then it would be worth the effort to make the trip to the seller’s house to actually test the used Wii system at his house before purchase. Many reputable online businesses will have people testing the game systems before putting them up for sale.

The biggest reason why people are buying used Nintendo Wii systems is because of its high demand. It was nearly impossible to find a new Nintendo Wii system and I don’t have time to camp out for days in front of a store. Used Nintendo Wii systems can be easily found for a fraction of the cost of a brand new Wii. Often times people are just looking for the console itself because they lost, broke, or had there Wii systems stolen. This is probably the best option for these people.

Another reason why Nintendo Wii systems are so popular amongst households is because it’s a different type of video gaming experience. Back then when I was kid playing video games meant slouching down on a couch for hours each day while moving my fingers across a controller and nothing else. The Nintendo Wii offers a different level of game play. Getting a used Nintendo Wii system is like a personal workout gym for your child. The games are really interactive with high technology motion sensors great for exercise.

One other reason why people don’t consider when purchasing a brand new Nintendo Wii system is that they don’t consider the fact that they have to purchase controllers, games, and other accessories. When you purchase a used Nintendo Wii, you now have extra money to purchase more games, etc.

Since the demand is so high on these Wii systems, the price will not likely drop anytime soon and in this day in age where are economy is struggling, we need to cut back on spending every which way we can. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t enjoy ourselves once in awhile, we just all need to budget our expenses.

Ever since the news came out that President Barrack Obama’s game of choice with his family is the Nintendo Wii, there seems to be a great hike in Wii gaming console demand. The game of choice for their family was actually Wii bowling and they will play lots of it at the White House.

Just remember when purchasing a used Nintendo Wii system, you shouldn’t have to worry about getting a broken one if you do research and take precaution. You shouldn’t blame anyone but yourself if you bought a bad Nintendo Wii because you didn’t do your homework on testing it, checking to see if there was a return policy, etc.

Wii gaming is interactive gaming

Many people are enjoying Wii gaming, but there are others that are still in the dark as to what makes this fancy little system from Nintendo worth having. The fact is, Nintendo Wii delivers a new quality of gaming that is based around the old, forgotten aspect of actually being "active" while playing a game. While all of this activity may be enough to make couch potatoes cringe, Nintendo Wii gaming is introducing a new wave.

Loads of people really love Wii gaming, but there are many others that are still wondering what all the fuss is about. The Nintendo Wii is popular because it offers gamers a whole new aspect of gaming and can bring them right into their favorite games. All of this activity may be enough to make some of the most ardent couch potatoes cringe, but it is certainly bringing a new era into video games.

Lots of people ignore Wii gaming because they love the traditional aspect of video game playing. With the Wii system from Nintendo, the player must get active and get involved in the game, more than any other system before it. Wii gaming puts the player right on the field, in the castle, or in any of the other creative environments covered by Wii gaming videos.

The "game" of Wii gaming is that the players use special remotes to activate their game objects. This means that if one is playing a baseball game and one wishes to swing the baseball bat, one actually has to use the remote to actively swing the bat. This type of activity may be a little too advanced for some players, but for many it is the gateway to true player-involved game play.

Unlike the Nintendo NES controller, the Wii remote contains sensors that allow the player to move and allow the game to sense those movements, replicating them within the game. The Nintendo NES controller, and all of the other game controllers allowed for passive game play, do not involve much physical activity or involvement. These are referred to as "static" controllers since you only use fingers and hands to push buttons or levers. The Wii remote and Wii gaming makes for a very active gaming experience.

The Wii was originally called the Nintendo Revolution before it changed its name to the Nintendo Wii. It is rumored that the name change was due the fact that Nintendo Revolution sounded too much like other gaming systems and sounded too impersonal. Wii gaming is all about involvement, so using the collective "we" in a new form (as in "Wii") was said to be more inviting to all sorts of players.

Originally, the name for the Nintendo Wii was to be the Nintendo Revolution. The company changed this because it sounded too impersonal and too much like other gaming systems on the market. The Nintendo Revolution eventually became the Nintendo Wii, giving an inclusive and inviting nature of twists on the play around the word "we".

The Nintendo Revolution was the first try at naming what would eventually be called the Nintendo Wii. The Nintendo Revolution name was nixed in favor of the Nintendo Wii because of the inclusive feel of the word "Wii" and how it sounded exactly like "we". Nintendo wanted an inclusive message sent with their gaming system, so the new name stuck.

Wii gaming also offers a tremendous amount of game variety. In supporting connectivity with the Nintendo DS, the handheld system, the Nintendo Wii is able to work with the DS games as well as the original Nintendo Wii games and even the Nintendo GameCube games. With the DS games, GameCube games, and a whole array of Nintendo Wii games to choose from, the selection is great.

The Nintendo Wii is offering a gaming experience that is fresh and new. It is inclusive and has more variety than many other systems are willing to admit. The activity level is the prime seller, but in the Wii, Nintendo has come up with a friendly system that does not alienate casual gamers. Instead, Wii gaming can be something for the whole family and can involve people from around the world.

The Nintendo Wii offers players a gaming experience that is unrivaled in the field of video game consoles. It is inclusive and creates more variety in its game play than any other system on the market. The activity level for the gamer is the top reason many people go with the Wii, but Nintendo has also made a system that doesn't alienate other gamers. Wii gaming is taking off on many fronts.

Wii gaming offers players a whole new level of gaming experience. There are countless ways that Wii gamers get involved with their games. Nintendo has truly created a video game console system that helps players interact and work with their skills and activity levels. Wii gaming offers something for everyone to enhance their gaming universe.

The Birth Of Wii

Phoenix Wright Mii on Nintendo Wii

On the 14th of September 2006, Nintendo made the announcement of the release information for the Wii for North America, Japan, South America, Europe, Australasia and Asia, including the prices, dates, and all of the unit distribution projected numbers. It was also announced that most of the shipments of Wii’s for two thousand and six were going to be allotted mainly to North and South America, and that there would be thirty three titles available within the 2006 launch window.

When the Nintendo Wii was released on the 8th of December, 2006, the United Kingdom really suffered a huge shortage of the Wii console units because many of the online stores and high-street stores weren’t able to fulfill all of the pre-orders. Some of the stores within the United Kingdom still had a shortage of the Wii gaming consoles as of March of two thousand and seven, and as of June of two thousand and seven, the demand for the Wii gaming console still outpaced the supply within the United States.

Nintendo Wii’s System Sales

Since the Wii was launched, the numbers related to monthly sales of the Wii gaming console have been a lot higher than that of its competitors all around the world. During the first half of two thousand and seven, there were more units of Nintendo Wii’s sold within the United States than the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 combined. The lead present within the United States is larger than the lead within the Japanese market, where it is currently leading in total sales.

The Demographic Wii

Nintendo has one main objective with the Wii and that is to target a demographic that is much wider than that of its other competitors within the seventh generation. During a press conference that was held for Dragon Quest IX, an upcoming game for Nintendo DS, Satoru Iwata made the comment that they weren’t considering fighting with Sony about the amount of people that they are able to get to play games. Later, the statement was made that Nintendo wasn’t thinking solely on consoles, portable systems and things of that nature but instead, they were focusing on getting new people playing the games.

You can see this reflected through the series of different television advertisements that Nintendo has within North America that are directed by Stephen Gaghan, an Academy Award winner, along with internet advertisements. The slogans that were used for the ads were “Experience a new way to play” and “Wii would like to play”. All of these ads ran beginning on the 15th of November, 20006 and they had a total budget that consisted of well over two hundred million dollars throughout the entire year.

All of these productions are the first advertising strategies that are broad based that Nintendo has put forth and they include a video clip of two minutes which shows a variety of people that are enjoying playing the Wii system, like country ranchers, urban-apartment dwellers, parents and their children as well as grandparents. In the ads, the music that you hear is from “Kodo” the song which is done by the Yoshida Brothers. The Wii is supposed to appeal to everyone and that is want all of the advertisements for the Wii are promoting. As stated earlier, the main objective for the Wii is to get new people playing the Wii gaming system. According to the latest information, Wii has surpassed that goal.

Video game reviews: Mario Party 8 (WII)

July 20, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: video games

Mario Party debuted on the Nintendo 64 back in 1999. Introducing Mario and Nintendo to the party board business. Fast forward nine years and Mario Party is still alive and kicking. This eight edition is proof of the franchise's success and popularity.

Once again Mario, along with friends and foes, bring you a slew of mini-games filled with good times with good friends. Travel through a virtual board game with your favorite Nintendo characters. All in an attempt to collect the most starts and declare yourself champ. You will then be able to gloriously flaunt you new title, as your friends curse how unresponsive the Wii controls are.

And your friends may actually have a valid point this time. (So please stop them before the become enraged and send your Wii flying across the room) Some mini-games are extremely frustrating to control. An impossible game of go-kart racing (dear lord please do not let Mario Kart for the Wii be anything like this) had me cursing the invention of video games.

Although there is an abundance of mini-games there are only 5 different boards to choose from, and unfortunate occurrence.

Games are customizable allowing for gamers to set the length and objectives of the game.

Multi-player is the main of appeal of Mario Party 8, as it has always been. Yet in today's world of internet and online gaming it is disappointing that Nintendo failed to include and online multi-player mode.

Up to 4 players can play at once, another set back in the games multi-player mode. Obviously Nintendo does not have the "more the merry" attitude.

Game play is often interrupted by an annoying announcer that is constantly slowing down your game. Off with his head I say.

Game Play Score: 7/10

Certain mini-games become frustrating with unresponsive controls that seem to do nothing you want them to.

Graphics Score: 8/10

Mario Party 8 comes to you in 480p (Nintendo Wii's highest video output) along with 16:9 wide-screen. The game looks pretty awesome with crisp colors and animation.

Audio Score: 7/10

My only complaint with the audio is this game is the annoyance of the announcer. Constantly popping up when he's not wanted. Even though, he is mute, he still finds a way to make the most awkward of sounds.

Creativity/Innovation Score: 6/10

Most of the mini-games are previous Mario Party mini-games that have been remade to accommodate Wii controls.

Replay Value Score: 8/10

With a large library of mini-games it's a doubt you and your friends won't want grow tired of this game. As long as some bad controls don't bother you.

Final Score:7/10

Basically Mario Party 7 with Wii controls proves to be mildly entertaining. However, being the only real big "family game night" type of game Mario Party 8 is still a solid choice for you and your family to enjoy

If you like Mario Party consider adding games like Wario Ware: Smooth Moves or Super Monkey Ball Blitz to your game library.

Get A Nintendo Wii – The Most Popular Game Console!

The Nintendo Wii has outsold all expectations for 2007, and it's causing havoc with holiday gift giving. Nintendo chose not to manufacture more of the Wii console , and it's getting hard to find them in stores this season.

Where can you find a Wii if you wanted to give a Nintendo Wii for a holiday gift? The best place to find one is online, and the best place online to buy a Wii are auction sites like eBay.

For months, the auction sites have had sellers with Nintendo Wii consoles available, both the regular console, with Wii Sports and a single controller, but also the game console bundles, including multiple games, Wii controllers and the unique nunchuk controller add-on. While some buyers might be hesitant to purchase a Wii console online, by following a few basic precautions, it's as safe as buying in any retail store.

The Nintendo Wii is so popular because it's got the unique motion sensitive controller. The game action is really exciting, and plenty of new Wii games are out to take advantage of the special features. While some gamers aren't happy that the graphics aren't state of the art, and rely on less than high definition, most average players don't care. You'll note in the ads for the Nintendo Wii that the players are kids, moms, dads, college students, and not the hard core gaming types. It's clear that this is a great gift for just about anyone. Here's how you can get the best deal on a Nintendo Wii console for the holidays:

- Use a reputable auction site. eBay for example has really cracked down on fraudulent sellers. They have designations including feedback and Power Seller status to demonstrate that a seller has a long-term history with eBay. Check your auction site to make sure you can get similar information.
- Use a secure payment option. If you are using a credit card, make sure your credit card company has buyer protection. When on eBay, PayPal, which is now owned by eBay, offers buyer protection too. At least you can get a refund from PayPal if your seller proves less than honorable.
- Review the auction to see if the seller accepts returns. What is the return policy if it's not a full refund? Be sure you are clear on those details.
- Buy insurance if it's available. Many reputable sellers require that you pay for insurance to guard against damage or loss in transit.
- Be sure to read the whole description and ask the seller any questions before bidding. Does the auction include all the pieces you need or want?
- Finally, review the shipping terms. Sometimes, the shipping price is raised to make the sale price look lower. See if you can upgrade our shipping service to get your new Wii console delivered faster? Know when to expect delivery, and whether it's coming from UPS or the Postal Service.

If you use these tips, you can have a Wii in time for holiday gift giving with no hassle. If you're new to auction buying, these tips will make sure your Nintendo Wii arrives safe and sound, and at a great price too!
