Where in the World is Wii Fit?

Does anyone remember that show, what was it called, "Where In The World Is Carmen San Diego"? I think there was something called that. Anyway, that title should be replaced with "Where In The World Is The Wii Fit"?
As far as I'm concerned, the fact that Nintendo's Wii Fit is so incredibly hard to find, is an indication or shows that a shift or expansion of sorts is happening within this industry. The thing about Wii Fit is that you literally have to use your entire body to play the game.
Now, the crazy thing about this is that a couple of years ago, when Nintendo revealed their Wii console and gave a general indication of how games were going to be controlled, which was motion-based, it seemed that almost everyone was shocked with disbelief. Not in a positive light, but a negative light.
I can remember this almost as if it were yesterday. People were saying that Nintendo was dead. That they were going to go bankrupt. You name it, and someone probably said it. Fast forward a couple years later, and not only is Nintendo's Wii a success, but so is their Wii Fit.
The Wii Fit though requires your entire body, whereas a regular Wii game would require some hand and arm movements. What does this tell me? That there is definitely a shift happening within the video game industry. More and more people want to move their bodies in some way or another while playing games.
I'm not saying their is anything wrong with playing games that doesn't require any type of body movement. There isn't. But look at the bigger picture. The fact that more and more people are using their bodies while playing these videogames sheds negative layers off of the gaming industries image. For some reason or another, this industry has been looked at in a negative light for far too long.
But that's starting to change now, and Wii Fit is helping with that effort. People of all ages are using it. I've seen the news where gym trainers are actually incorporating Wii Fit's into their training programs. This is a huge positive for the industry. So, where in the world is Wii Fit?
Yes, for people like me, who want the game real bad, it's probably not a really good thing that it's really hard to find one. But for the industry as a whole, the fact that Wii Fit is so hard to find is another sign that video games are on it's way to being looked at as another legitimate form of entertainment.
Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 29
Well right know the Wii is ahead of the game.
the wii sold over 6 million console in the first year.
PS3 is a little behind, because there not selling
a lot of ps3's.the first day the PS3 came out some
guy got shot for not giving up his PS3..plus the
PS3 cost over $500 "thats a lot of money".
but know Sony is bringing the price down on the PS3,
because there going to make a newer version of the PS3
is going to have 80GB for the price of $699. that means that the 60GB
price is going down from $599 to $499 its a pretty
good price but i wish it was lower.Another thing about the PS3
is that they came out with a little bit of games the
only good game that came out when th PS3 was launch
is Resistance fall of men. its i cool game and one
of the best.on the other side of the wii Nintendo is
know the leader of games,Nintendo is creating a new
gun called the zapper is a gun were you put the wii
remote and nunchuk in the gun.The zapper is for shooting games like
resident evil umbrella or duck hunt.the other new thing that
Nintendo is making is called the wii fit is a balance board
use to play games...there's a lot of yoga practice and exercises
practice. Is not that cool if your 16 and under, its kind of a game that my gram pa would play. But if you like it you should buy ii,its kind of fun
and active. My opinion is that the wii is the best out there.
and i know there's going to be millions of new games coming out like
Super Smash brawl release date:December 3,meteoroid prime 3 corruption release
date:late 2007,wii Mario cart release date:early 2008,and many many more
games coming out...so if you don't have a wii go out there and buy one.

Wii Fit and weight loss possibilities – Part 3
Any one that owns a Wii knows that it is a very physical gaming console. There are few games that require no movement, and even with those you are not merely sitting with your fingers pressing buttons. The Nintendo Wii is not your classic video game system. Without the Wii Fit platform, you will find yourself jumping, boxing, flailing your arms about (and hitting your nephew in the head in the process...), and moving quite erratically. But, it is extremely fun. Thus, when you do advance to the Wii fit, you assume that you are already prepared for the extreme physical endurance that is expected with the fitness craze. Now, swinging a Wii remote like a tennis racket is one thing, but bending and stretching your body like a pretzel while trying to keep your balance as the board measures your center of balance is an entirely different thing altogether. This thing is not for the faint of heart.
I had been looking for one for months (for they are usually sold out and on back order at nearly every retail outlet that you visit), so when I finally found it, i snatched it up rather quickly. That was a week ago, and I have already used it eight times. I am addicted. Even when I stood on the board to register and configure my wii fit age, and my BMI (Body Mass Index), and my Wii fit deemed me obese (yes, obese, it was quite a blow...) I was thinking about how amazing and fun the little machine was. I am not a person that engages in alot of physical activity. I am busy with a full time job, and full time college courses, so when I get a chance to relax, I tend to enjoy it. Now, all I want to do is play the Wii fit! It is so fun, and it gives me such a workout that I actually feel rewarded after playing my video games for hours. Half dead, but rewarded.
There are several reasons that I think that the Wii fit holds great potential for losing weight. First of all, it keeps a record of the amount of time that you use it. You can see how many minutes that you have done each time that you use it, and there is a graph that shows you how you have progressed (or haven't progressed in some cases). It records your weight, your BMI, and your balance. Secondly, the wii fit tells you how you have done each exercise. It measures how you distribute your weight when you are doing yoga poses, and it also measures your ability to maintain your posture and your balance. While performing some activities, it actually shows you a circle or rectangles that measure your movements so that you

I was installing the Wii Fit and when I had to synchronize the board I pushed down the sychronize button for over 10 seconds on the console. The remotes will not work now. Does anyone know how to fix them?
What are the best exercises on Wii fit and on an exercise ball?
Wii Fit "will it get you fit?"
The Wii Fit Balance Board is a clever device that is pressure sensitive and detects shifts in balance in any direction. You put it in front of your TV, step on and use it to interact with the varied activities. The great thing about it it's wireless, so there's no chance of you tripping over a cable and picking up an injury. On this subject I would say that you should probably make sure you leave some space around it as im sure until you get the hang of it, the odd overbalancing will take place and you don’t want to fall head first into the glass coffee table!!
Its due to be released on the 25th April 2008 and is expected to be a great hit with all ages and lots of pre-orders have been taken. Its sure to be a best seller this christmas.
The big question people have been asking "can this really get you fit?" In fact several studies have claimed that Wii games can help you with fitness and even promote weight loss because they're so physical. John Moores University in Liverpool found that users could lose up to 12kg a year from exerciseing daily using Wii Sports sessions
Wii Fit is the first Nintendo Wii game specifically design to help gamers get into shape. It features over 40 different activities separated into four training categories of Muscle Workouts, Aerobic Exercises, Yoga and Balance, each one designed to test you in a different way. They'll help you burn fat, condition and tone muscles and increase aerobic stamina. All of this from the comfort of your own living room.
Nintendo has said it has at least ten games in development that support the board and not just fitness games either. Fighting and Sports games can also take advantage of the unique balance-based interface.
Use the Wii Balance Board for daily Wii Fit tests: Tests offered by the Wii Fit evaluate two key measures that everyone can track via progress charts:
Body Mass Index (BMI): A weight evaluation based on a ratio of weight to height.
Wii Fit Age: The Wii Fit Age is measured by factoring the user's BMI reading, testing the Wii Fit user's center of gravity and conducting quick balance tests.
The Wii Fit is designed to appeal to all members of a household and training falls into four fitness categories:
Aerobic Exercise: Wii Fit's 10-minute exercises are designed to get the heart pumping.
Muscle Conditioning: Wii Fit features controlled motions using arms, legs and other body parts.
Yoga Poses: Classic poses in Wii Fit focus on balance and stretching.
Balance Games: Wii Fit features fun activities, such as heading soccer balls and ski jumping, that challenge the Wii Fit player's overall body balance.
The Wii balance board has a weight limit of 136kg so if you want to use it and your already over that weight you’ll have to start loosing weight now!! Once your down to the weight limit and you start using the wii fit board im sure the weight will drop off you and you’ll be as fit as a butchers dog!

Get Into the Groove With Nintendo Wii
While many video games have turned today's youths into small couch potatoes: Nintendo Wii is looking to change all of that. Nintendo Wii, or simply called "Wii" by most people, is an interactive action-based video game you hook up to your television set.
The Wii has taken the U.S.A. by storm and has continuously sold out from any store it has been placed in. People will stand on line in rain, snow or any type of weather to get their hands on the Wii. The Wii sells on eBay for up to three times its selling price of about three hundred and fifty dollars.
When you purchase the Wii gaming console, you get a number of things. You receive the Wii sports disk with several popular sports to play either as a dual player, 4-players or just as an individual. You receive hardware such as the Wii console, remote, nonchuck, sensor bar, console stand and an AV cable.
Everything about the Wii is smartly designed. The Wii console is slim and sleek and will look attractive next to any television set. It is also discrete looking and not bulky or the type of gadget that will take up a lot of space in your living room or family room. The Wii remote control is very intuitive, with buttons being different sizes and also different shapes. You can easily understand just how it works as you are setting up your Wii to play games.
To play Wii you create your own Mii character to represent yourself in the games. This is very much like an avatar that you may have created at Internet websites. The Mii characters are attractive and friendly. While the Mii character will not look exactly like you, it is fun to see this character that looks similar to you interacting within the game or activity you are playing.
This summer Wii has come out with their latest creation: Wii Fit. The Wii Fit is an athletic game of sorts that teaches body sculpting, yoga and aerobics. You can take your BMI (body mass index) and also track your fitness levels. This is ideal for the person that wants to get in shape or who may want to lose some weight. The Wii Fit offers five different sports activities. The activities are easy enough for a beginner to start and will be enjoyable for the advanced exerciser.
The only challenge one could wonder about is if those that use the Wii Fit will get bored with the exercises just the way people get bored with an exercise DVD and they require some type of variety for stimulation. Perhaps Wii is already ahead of us in this respect and is planning even more athletic "games" to be added to Wii Fit.
The Wii is a very creative idea for a video game and certainly has both children and adults getting up off the couch to play with it. This fun game can burn several hundred calories an hour, just like regular exercise. With its popularity, it is clear that many adults and children are enjoying Wii very much and continue to use it far beyond its early popularity. Nintendo is known for bringing us many high-quality video games and the Wii is simply an ingenious answer to the American obesity crisis.

Nintendo Wii
David McKellar asked:
The Nintendo Wii is an exciting, next-generation, gaming console. Not only that, the Wii has an internet connection where gamers can play games with their friends, as well as access news and other online information. However, what really makes the Wii stand out among other game systems are its motion-sensitive controllers. The Wii Remote controller enables the user to interact with games and this makes the Wii famous for putting back fun into game play. It is simple to set up the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk joystick controller. Place the Wii sensor bar under the monitor, or TV screen, and invite some of your friends to bring around their Wii Remotes for some great interactive game time. You can even play GameCube games on the Wii as it contains ports for older controllers. Other classic games can be played on the Wii and my favorites are Zelda: Link to the Past and Gunstar Heroes. Although the game selection was a bit poor when the Nintendo Wii was first released, the selection of game titles is improving all the time.
Today, however, the biggest craze is for the Wii fitness routines. The Wii Fit's success is the Wii Balance Board, a device that measure's the players center of gravity and weight. The player is also able to keep an activities log and keep track of how fit they are becoming. Simple exercises include push-ups and even yoga. Wii Fit games are becoming more advanced and this has resulted in the Wii Fit becoming the gaming rage all over the world. We Ski is one such game where players can stand on the Wii Balance Board and, by shifting their weight, they are able to ski down the virtual slopes. Wanting more action, then attach the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller and you will be slaloming down the virtual slopes with your friends beside you.

I am getting a Wii so that I can get a Wii Fit. Can I buy them together? Should I buy them at the same time?
Any tips you have about purchasing/finding a Wii. I have never bought a game system before.
Are there certain compatibility requirements( as far as how old the TV is)? Is a TV all that is required to use the system ( that doesn't come with the system)?
Do you have to have cable or the internet to be able to use this system?
