Which video game console is better: PlayStation 3 or Wii? – Part 6

Wii all the way. For a start, take a look at the price difference. You could feasibly get an Xbox 360 and a Wii for the price of one PS3. Now let's look at the games. Good PS3 games? Resistance. That's it. Good Wii games? Wii Sports, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime, Mario & Sonic, Mario Galaxy, Wii Fit,and many more.

Now let's take a look at the way the systems interact with the players. The PS3 has a controller based on the PS1 controller which was released in 1994, and Sony still think it can hold up today? It doesn't even have rumble. I would say that the one decent thing about the PS3 controller is the motion detecting but that is cheap, clunky, and to be honest pathetic. The Wii pretty much destroys every controller ever made. For a start, let's look at the basic Wii remote, none of the attachments, just the remote. It not only has tilt controls far more advanced that the PS3, but it also has Pointer technology, rumble, and a fantastic port at the bottom of it that can be used for pretty much anything developers can dream up. With this controller we can play incredibly immersive games, and also use the Wii's in built channel system to download games, browse the net (including full Myspace and Youtube compatibility), edit images, check todays news and weather forecasts and more. That's just with the core controller. So what about the extension socket I mentioned earlier? Well firstly, some people might say the remote is too simple for complex FPS shooters and adventures games, but with the Nunchuck extension, that theory is obliterated, with Metroid Prime 3 being described by IGN (the internet's most respected video game reviewers) as "the best controlled console FPS ever".

For people not yet converted to the Wii's simple yet advanced control method, there is also the Classic Controller, which is perfectly designed and brilliant for playing Gamecube games and downloadable games. Then there's the lightgun, turning your TV screen into an arcade shooter machine, and the Wii Fit board. The board is currently only being used for an ingenius workout game, where one weighs themselves, does pressups, does basic balance exercises and yoga stretches on the board, but in the future it could also be used for dancemat games, skateboarding and snowboarding games, and other things we can't even imagine.

I've spent all this time discussing just the controls, without even touching on the Wii's ability to appeal to hardcore gamers, young children, old people, and basically, everybody. Whether you've had every console ever made or have never played a video game, either way you can enjoy the Wii, and with fast internet browsing that matches most high end PCs, for only 180 how can you say no? i also didn't mention the Wii's built in wireless abilities, which are just as effective as the Xbox 360's, except for the latter you are expected to pay 100 dollars for an external transmitter.

Wow I could keep typing all night but I won't bore you with that, basically Nintendo Wii is a fantasic console that has something for everyone, for a small price, while PS3 has a pathetic array of games, for a ridiculously high price. If you can afford both, go for it, but if not, it's Wii all the way.

Wii Fit Will be the Best Seller of the Year

The Wii Fit Balance Board is a clever device that is pressure sensitive and detects shifts in balance in any direction. You put it in front of your TV, step on and use it to interact with the varied activities. The great thing about it it's wireless, so there's no chance of you tripping over a cable and picking up an injury. On this subject I would say that you should probably make sure you leave some space around it as im sure until you get the hang of it, the odd overbalancing will take place and you don’t want to fall head first into the glass coffee table!!

Its due to be released on the 25th April 2008 and is expected to be a great hit with all ages and lots of pre-orders have been taken. Its sure to be a best seller this christmas.

The big question people have been asking "can this really get you fit?" In fact several studies have claimed that Wii games can help you with fitness and even promote weight loss because they're so physical. John Moores University in Liverpool found that users could lose up to 12kg a year from exerciseing daily using Wii Sports sessions

Nintendo Wii / 任天堂Wii

Wii Fit is the first Nintendo Wii game specifically design to help gamers get into shape. It features over 40 different activities separated into four training categories of Muscle Workouts, Aerobic Exercises, Yoga and Balance, each one designed to test you in a different way. They'll help you burn fat, condition and tone muscles and increase aerobic stamina. All of this from the comfort of your own living room.

Nintendo has said it has at least ten games in development that support the board and not just fitness games either. Fighting and Sports games can also take advantage of the unique balance-based interface.

Use the Wii Balance Board for daily Wii Fit tests: Tests offered by the Wii Fit evaluate two key measures that everyone can track via progress charts:

Body Mass Index (BMI): A weight evaluation based on a ratio of weight to height.

Wii Fit Age: The Wii Fit Age is measured by factoring the user's BMI reading, testing the Wii Fit user's center of gravity and conducting quick balance tests.

The Wii Fit is designed to appeal to all members of a household and training falls into four fitness categories:

Aerobic Exercise: Wii Fit's 10-minute exercises are designed to get the heart pumping.

Muscle Conditioning: Wii Fit features controlled motions using arms, legs and other body parts.

Yoga Poses: Classic poses in Wii Fit focus on balance and stretching.

Balance Games: Wii Fit features fun activities, such as heading soccer balls and ski jumping, that challenge the Wii Fit player's overall body balance.

The Wii balance board has a weight limit of 136kg so if you want to use it and your already over that weight you’ll have to start loosing weight now!! Once your down to the weight limit and you start using the wii fit board im sure the weight will drop off you and you’ll be as fit as a butchers dog!

HoW to Set Up Your WiickEd Wii
At home alone with your brand new Nintendo Wii, and you realize that you have no idea how to set it up. Well, have no fear WiiXys here. I will walk you through this very easy process.
Step Wii 1. WiiXy Says
Decide how you want your Nintendo Wii to orient.
The Wii can lay one of two ways - horizontally or vertically.
When you decide which way to orient your Wii you have to consider your entertainment centre. And what is the best way to lay it out to keep the unit cool.
If you decide to place it vertically, you need to place your Wii in the control plate included with the packaging.

Step Wii 2. WiiXy Says
Plug in your Nintendo Wii into your television and the wall socket.
Check to see what type of audio and visual connectors you have on your television.
Once you determine which connections are available on your television, set-up your Nintendo Wii by plugging the right cord into the Wii then into the television.
Step Wii 3. WiiXy Says
Plug adapter into the back of the Wii and then into the wall socket. This will supply your Wii with power.
Step Wii 4. WiiXy Says
Once the power and television are connected to your Wii, the next step to set-up Nintendo Wii is to plug in the sensor bar.
Placed sensor bar in the exact middle of the television, as the controllers will align to this.
You then need to find a good spot to put the sensor bar so the controllers can properly orient themselves.
This bar has infrared light emitters in it that need to be picked up by the controllers, so put it in a spot where there is an unobstructed line of sight between the controllers and the bar.
Find the correct jack on the Wii and plug in the cord.

Console reviews: The Nintendo Wii – Part 5

November 22, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Nintendo Wii

I have been a gamer for many years and I have followed Nintendo through its evolutionary stages. I owned an old SNES and I've owned every Nintendo console in between and up to the new Wii. Of course, everything seems to have its pros and cons; the Wii is no exception to the rule. The system is very durable, reliable, and fun. I have very few complaints for this next generation hit.

The Wii is a system that is paving the road to a new gaming experience. Except for plugging into the TV and the outlet, this system can be completely wireless. This allows for more room for gaming and more fun. It can definitely support a party that doesn't involve four people crowded around a TV because of restrictive cords.

Another important attribute is the new design of the controller. The Wii has TWO controllers now; Wiimote and nunchuck which mean that people will now need to learn to use both hands independently to play. This has been and still is a great help for my hand-eye coordination which is definitely a positive for this system. Of course, there are some cases where one may just use the Wiimote for play by either turning it sideways (like a regular controller) or by pointing it at the TV (like a mouse pointer). The Wii also supports the old Gamecube controllers for those people that want some of the old games, and even some of the Wii games like Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Another attraction to the Wii is the fact that it can play old games from its predecessor without difficulty unlike some of the other next-generation systems. With the 360 and PS3, people need to get attachments or patches in order to play the games they just didn't want to get rid of when selling the old systems. This was a very good idea by the makers of the Wii.

My most favorite part of the Wii has got to be the Wii menu. This is a fancy panel sorted out like TV channels with each panel containing a different function. Some of the basics include a news channel, a weather channel (with a really cool global weather model), a shopping network, and a photo channel. There is an option for expansion where one can also go to voting channels and Mii show off channel. What are these Miis? Miis are avatars that each player can create. They have many, many options to help customize a Mii and make each one special. The Wii also works to integrate these characters into its sports games, Wii play, and is even rumored to be a racer in the new Mario Kart Wii.

For those of you that are nostalgic, the Wii even allows old-school Nintendo and Sega games. Of course, they come at a cost, but it is really cheap for what you get. Games cost between 5 to 15 dollars, but once you buy them, you own them until you sell your Wii. There is even an old school controller for sale to really quench your thirst for the past.

The only complaint I have so far with the Wii is the battery operated controllers. Although the controllers are innovative and new, they sure do eat up batteries. After the first two weeks all three of my controllers were dead and I really only used one. There is a dock to buy that will charge the controllers but it costs $40 currently.

Out of a 10 scale, I would give the Wii a solid 9/10. It has the reliability that Nintendo has always brought us and the ingenuity of a new design. It is definitely a party console for all ages which really can help with family time. If you've been turned off from Nintendo in the past, you have to try the new toy. You may just be surprised what you find out.

Nintendo Wii Anzeige Nr.2

I have some wii games, and they are all fun, but i want to get some different ones to. If you know of any good ones that are fairly active ( you do the actions) please let me know, especially if there are shooters that are good. Also, if you know the acerage orice on any of the games you suggest please let me know.

Tips for downloading Wii games

Nintendo Wii Demonstration

Given the immense surge of popularity following the release of the Nintendo Wii Gaming Console in 2006, it comes as no surprise that downloading Wii games has become a much more crucial, important and popular practice. The advantage of downloading games rather than purchasing them at your local electronic supplier is that the former option is often cheaper, and far wider selections of games are available for download than for physical purchase.

Before we begin, it is important to note that it is virtually impossible to download free' Wii games. This is because the Wii downloading system only links to the official Nintendo Wii Store' site.

The first step for making your download process efficient, easy and problem-free is to ensure that your Wii has a solid and reliable internet connection. As one of the next-generation consoles', the Wii can connect to your internet system through an internet cable or through a wireless internet connection. Before downloading anything, I would recommend ensuring that the internet connection is strong, because if the connection falters during the download process, your Wii download will fail.

Since the Wii downloads directly from the internet, it is important to have a reasonably fast internet connection. As the very minimum, it would be necessary to have a 512/128 kbps broadband connection. The speed of your connection will be very important in ensuring that the download proceeds smoothly.

In order to download from the Wii store' site, you require to purchase proprietary Wii points' and this can be done from your electronic retailer or through the official Nintendo site at www.nintendo.com. Wii points enable you to access the Wii Shop Channel' through the console interface and thereby purchase games.

An important tip before accessing the Wii Shop Channel is to have a firm idea of where and how you want to navigate. Since the Wii utilises your internet connection, it is a good idea to minimise the time that you use your Wii to search the net. This will not only save time and money, but more importantly will ensure that you minimise the risk posed to your console by online viruses and spyware.

In conclusion, downloading Wii games has become a far more popular practice than physically purchasing games at electronic stores. However, it is important to be able to download both safely and economically. Whilst the tips mentioned above cover the basics, it must be noted that only practice will perfect your downloading skills.

Video game reviews: Sonic and the Secret Rings (WII)

August 12, 2010 by Goldenchute · Leave a Comment
Filed under: video games

Not many video game franchises out today can claim to be as large an icon as Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog is. Throughout the years of joy and frustration of the evolution of video gaming, Sonic has been involved. With release of Sonic and the Secret Rings for the Nintendo Wii, the legacy continues.

This is the first game to feature Sonic in a solo game since 1991, and his comeback is a great one. Utilizing the Wii controls, the game has a sense of real speed, and fast action. The game play is the main factor of any Sonic game, and this game nails it.

The story is not the ordinary Sonic one most gamers may be used to. It is set in the book Arabian Nights, which is being destroyed by an evil genie by the name of Erazor. Sonic is warned that if Erazor gains enough power, he can literally jump out of the book and terrorize Sonic's world. It is up to you to traverse through 7 levels, each with a different style and challenge, to prevent Erazor from escaping the book.

The controls in Sonic are simple enough, you hold the Wii Mote sideways, and tilt it

left or right to move Sonic side to side, and press the 1 button to stop, and the 2 button to jump. Some people sometimes find it frustrating though, as you find yourself not being able to control Sonic directly. His momentum makes it so you have to time your movements carefully to bypass the hazards in Sonic's way.

In addition to running and avoiding obstacles, Sonic can attack enemies directly using the simple targeting mechanism. As you master the attack controls, you can use strings of enemies to bypass obstacles, often not having to touch the ground at all.

As you progress through the game, you can earn experience points to spend on certain skills. Some of the skills are useful, but most are pointless. You can progress through the game just fine without ever using any of the skills you earn.

As with most Wii games, Sonic includes a multi-player series of mini games. These games utilize the controller in a different way, and is a nice escape from the actual single player game. You can compete against the computer, or up to 3 friends.

The graphics in the game is very colorful and deep. It brings the seven levels of the game to life, as you have to run on various surfaces, including dinosaurs and pirate ships. The speed involved in Sonic's movements are the mainstay of the game, and the Wii handles it perfectly.

The music and voice acting are cheesy, but hey, you came for the game play, not the sounds. There is also an option to choose between English voice acting, or the original Japanese one.

All in all, if you enjoyed Sonic games in the past, and own a Nintendo Wii, then this one is a must buy. If you haven't found yourself itching for a new Sonic game, then rent it first and see if you like it. No matter which you choose, Sonic should be a great addition to your collection.

Ben Dave asked:

Hard core gamers, casual console players, console enthusiasts. All agree, the Wii rocks. It’s a phenomenon in the gaming world as more and more Wii Games Download communities spring up with Wii parties being all the rage. Not really surprising as the Nintendo Wii is more than just a game console. Its family entertainment, relaxation and even a fitness machine, all bundled into one neat package. All that comes at a price though, and the biggest bug has to be the cost of new games. As new games get bigger and better, rising production costs and coding investment mean higher and higher prices for new game carts. Most Wii owners would welcome a cheaper solution to their new game purchases. Well luckily, there is a more cost effective method. A Wii game is essentially a digital product and can be distributed online very effectively. More and more providers of Download Wii Games services are making new games available online and free Wii game downloads are readily available. So what are the choices available to download Wii games? Cheap Wii Games Download can be found and downloaded from some of the bigger torrent sites and also some of the popular peer-2-peer sites (P2P). These sites tend to download more then just games however, and incidents of infections with viruses and other spyware are commonplace. The download process is long and complicated, making the serious Wii gamer steer clear of these sites. A far better option would be a reliable paid membership site. For a negligible fee you get trouble free downloading and considerable peace of mind. All needs and requirements are catered to and users have a wide range of membership options to choose from. A pay-per-download membership or even a limited time plan might look good to the more occasional gamer, but these plans are limited and in the minority. The serious Wii Download owner wants unlimited access to all the latest releases. Lifetime unlimited plans are by far the best choice and the majority of Wii gamers opt for types of memberships. Unlimited download plans, unlike the pay-per-download variants, result in a much more cost effective way to get all the latest Wii games. A small one-time fee is charged for the membership, but this goes towards the costs of the download tools, making the games themselves virtually free of charge. Plus these types of memberships are not limited to just games. The plans include unlimited access to music, movies and TV shows. These unlimited membership plans cost little more than a store bought Wii game. The easy part is finding a membership site offering unlimited Wii Game Download. The tricky part is making sure the particular site is safe to download from and is run by a reliable service provider. Not all providers are created equal. With the amount of exposure Wii game downloads are getting, scam and rip-off sites spring up daily. Learn to spot these scam sites. Never accept anything that doesn’t offer a full money back guarantee. Make sure the site you join has 24/7 support. Use the services of safe e-commerce suppliers like Clickbank to make sure your personal details remain safe.

In the advent of modern computerization and the Internet these days, a lot of online providers are created to give the people a chance to get to Download Wii Games on the net. Games used to be purchased at the stores, but now they can be readily downloaded right on your computer. Aside from the games, other sources of entertainment can also be downloaded such as movies, music, and TV shows. These downloadable wii games can be availed by subscribing on the services or literally getting them for free.

Gamers used to spend a lot of money from buying costly prices per game at the store. But these days, all you got to pay for is the one-time fee for the full access of the unlimited wii games. This is practically more economical than purchasing every single game at the store. Aside from these paid services, you can also find some sites where you can download games for wii without any payment. However, these sites are usually illegal, of sub-standard quality, and often loaded with virus and malware.

To be sure that you are on the right track when downloading for the quality games, you need to choose the sites which offer a one-time membership fee for a lifetime of unlimited free access to all kinds of media including the chance to download wii games free. The cost of the subscription fee is very reasonable as compared to buying the games at the store. You will absolutely get to enjoy the high quality of games by joining an online site for the free downloadable wii games.

These free wii games that you get to download on the web are not only meant for the video games enthusiasts, but for those who play them on an occasional basis as well. Apart from joining a lifetime of membership for the unlimited download, gamers can as well have the choice of dealing per-download on the web. This option would be applicable if you just wanted to play a few of your selected games. But if you can’t be satisfied of playing just a few of them, the unlimited access membership would be the choice that you need.

The only challenging part of the wholes process is the stage when you determine whether or not the site offers legitimate services on downloading the free wii games. This is a serious issue because some people had already experienced being tricked online by making them believe that a particular site is devoted to offer great games. As a matter of fact, these sites are created to damage your personal computer with spyware or adware. One wise move to do is to check and read on the credible video game reviews of the sites to be sure that you make the right choice.

Downloading for these games does not require any technical skills to successfully avail for the games. The instructions provided are quite understandable even when it’s your first time to do the task. Great advice is to look for download service providers that offer total money-back guarantee with no questions, software, tools, and accessories without any additional charge. The whole process of downloading for the games only takes a few minutes of your time and you will finally get to play all your favourite wii games.

Are you looking to download free games to play on your PS3, Xbox 360, or Nintendo Wii? If you are then you have found a great place to start downloading. First, you should know a couple of things before you start downloading free games.

There are websites available that are free of cost where you can download and play games. There are a few problems with these websites though. Some of these sites allow you to download games for free but they often have spyware or viruses in the files. This is not a good thing for you or your computer.  The last thing you want is to be searching for downloads one minute and then the next minute have you computer be disabled because you accidentally downloaded a virus.

The other problem with with these sites is that they can be extremely slow to download games. There is an answer to these problems though. They are called paid free download sites. They work extremely well.

With these download sites you can be certain that the downloads will be legal.  Some sites are not legitimate and they could cause you alot of trouble if you start downloading hundreds of games without the consent of the game owners.

So, whether you want to download free ps3 games, download free xbox 360 games, or download free wii games, you will have the most succcess with paid free download sites. Here is the best site I found after reviewing a countless amount of download sites. Download games and get a free ps3 tips guide.
