Elliot Jarves asked:

Learning how to repair your XBox will save you some major money. Microsoft will not tell you how to fix these errors. They'll ask you to send your system back to them for repair. The typical cost for a repair can be as much as $140 plus shipping and handling. Also - they do not always guarantee a fix!

As quoted from Microsoft themselves:

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) said Thursday it expects to spend more than $1 billion to repair widespread hardware problems in its Xbox 360 video game console after a large number of them broke down.

Microsoft said it would extend the warranty on the Xbox 360 to three years after too many of the consoles succumbed to "general hardware failure," but the company provided few other details about the extent of the problems.

"We don't think we've been getting the job done," said Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's entertainment and devices division, which also makes the Zune digital music player. "In the past few months, we have been having to make Xbox 360 console repairs at a rate too high for our liking." (end quote)

What Causes The 3 Lights Error?

There are a number of different reasons the 3 red lights error happens and below are the most common causes:

Cause 1: Overheating. This has got to be the most common cause of this error and the good thing is it can be easily resolved. If you think the Xbox 360 has got lots of very high end gaming components within, similar to a top of the range gaming PC.

The difference is that the Xbox 360 has them crammed in a much smaller space so will need lots of ventilation to be able to get rid of the heat it produces.

If you are keeping your Xbox 360 in a display cabinet with the doors shut, then you could and probably will run into this error, make sure that the 360 can breathe on all sides.

Cause 2: The GPU. This is a major talking point and no one is quite sure if this is gospel but a lot of resources blame the GPU and the special coating they put on it with in the Xbox.

Cause 3: Warping of the Motherboard. Another reason you may find yourself searching for an Xbox 360 repair guide is because the heat that the Xbox 360 lets out actually warps the motherboard. This would make the solders come loose and eventually you would end up with the 3 red lights.

It's ironic that the majority of Xbox 360 owners have done just that, sending the units in for repairs and paying through the nose. I have found that most of the owners are technically savvy and could do the repairs themselves. Just as I found out the other day, when a friend of mine revealed to me that he had been purchasing broken Xbox 360's, repairing them cheaply and reselling them. Uhmmmm........I smell a potential little gold mine here.

Susan Chinweike - Umeh asked:

Ever since Xbox 360 was introduced by Microsoft for the gaming community, there has been an expression of unhappiness by the gaming community. It is regarding the 360 freezing issues. What the users of Xbox wonder are why does my Xbox 360 freezes? Of course, Microsoft has been attending to these 360 freezing issues, but one has to have patience to wait for four to five weeks.

The 360 fixing problem has drawn the attention of many people who frequently use the Xbox gaming. Some people have pointed out that even the error message does not appear on the monitor. Even with online help from Microsoft, the problem continues unabated. Some even complain that the three red lights did not glow to indicate the onset of the problem.

Xbox is basically a simplified version of a high end gaming PC. That is to say, the Xbox is nothing but a PC with gaming options. Whenever a person selects the game with high requirements, the entire system gets busy, resulting in high traffic inside the console and as a result, it generates more heat. This problem can be overcome by removing the closed cabinet of the Xbox and keeping the console near the window or air cooler or fan so that the heat does not harm the solder. Further, when the console is kept near the window or near the air cooler, the heat reduces and the Xbox functions normally. Three red lights provided in the console starts to glow when the Xbox 360 freezes. So, why does my Xbox 360 freeze is because of the problems mentioned above.

The Xbox 360 is available has a hard disk of 20 GB. Out of this, nearly 6 GB is taken away for the games provided on line. The remaining 14 GB can be used for downloading games etc. When the hard disk is full, the console tends to be slow.

Some attribute the freezing problem to faulty circuit or faulty hardware.

Remedies:

Whatever be the reason, if one chooses he can take the help of Microsoft service centre. Instead of wondering why my Xbox 360 freezes, it is appropriate to find solution. If the Xbox is still under warranty then approaching the Microsoft service centre would appear to be the best choice. There are many Xbox 360 video repair guides which gives step by step instructions to set right the Xbox. There are many books or guides which also gives step by step instructions to repair the Xbox 360. With the help of these guides it would be possible to repair the Xbox 360 and for this no specialized tools or skill is required.

If the freezing occurs when the files are in the process of downloading, then this creates more problems. This is because, if the console freezes when the downloading is in the process, some files which are in the process of copying will cause malfunctioning of the hard disk. This can be overcome by disconnecting the network cable from the console and by deleting the file which not copied in full.

Hello is your xbox broken and you are bumming real bad I know the feeling when you are in the middle of a real good game and bam xbox 360 red lights appear the game freezes and your like holy @#$* now what.

All you can think about is how can I get going gaming is an addiction and when your pride and joy breaks down Its like your whole world just stopped and smacked you in the face and said hahaha.

So if you have an xbox im here to help I found this guide on how you can fix your xbox in an hour. Also I found a few other kool sites you can use after you get your xbox going.

If your console is still in warranty that means that you would not have to pay for the repair and is probably the best thing to try before you start searching for a xbox 360 red Lights Fix.

The first way you could get a xbox 360 Red Lights Fix is obviously send in the console for repair but this can take a long time and might just get another broken xbox so unless the repair is going to be free you will need another alternative first to fix your xbox 360 red lights

If you are determined to find a fix then here are a few things that may help.

First make sure that your Xbox 360 is well ventilated as the machine does crunch a lot of information and therefore gets very hot! A lot of the problems that people run into in the first place with the Xbox 360 could have been solved if they did not allow the machine to overheat.

The second thing you could do as a xbox 360 red Lights Fix is to get a hair dryer and put it on a COLD setting and use the hair dryer to blow in the vents at the side of the Xbox 360.

This may sound dumb but your xbox may have some dust in there that is causing it to overheat and giving you the xbox 360 red lights problem.

If the suggestions above do not provide a xbox 360 red lights fix then you may have to get a little more serious.

As many of you may have noticed, there are four lights surrounding the power button on your Xbox 360. When these light up in red that is the first sign that you have a problem.

Here are what the diffrent xbox 360 red lights mean and what you may need to do.

The Xbox 360’s ring is divided into four separate quadrants. Each division turning red indicates a separate problem, all with a different way of resolving the issue.

Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are flashing red the AV cable cannot be detected so check all of your cables and make double shure they are all plugged in correctly.

Sections 1, and 3 are flashing red Overheating let it cool for a minute or 2 and see if that helps and make shure your xbox is well venilated it needs a lot of air to keep all of that gameing power cool.

Sections 1, 3, and 4 are flashing red General Hardware Failure this one sucks and you will need some realy good help on this I will show you where to get it in a minute.

Section 4 is flashing red Hardware Failure

The Specific Type of hardware failure can be determined by the error code displayed on the screen which will give you some insight on what you need to do also help is on the way just in a few seconds here.

Ok I have found a few guides that will help you fix your xbox 360 red lights these guides are informative and very helpful.

These guides will save you money so you can buy another game of course or some other accessory that you have had your eye on for your xbox.

Learn To Start A Video Game Business

Hunter Crowell asked:

Ever spent your hard earned cash on a game that just didn't perform and entertain you as much as it should? Did you get caught up in the hype of a popular new release, and it just failed to deliver the quality you were looking for.

With the introduction of new gaming consoles like Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii, video game rental industry has really reached new heights. People can now rent favorite games from the comfort of their homes. Gone are the days when we had to spend a lot of time to find the game of our choice from store to store. We can now sit at our homes, look at the details of the games. If the game meets our interest, we can order it online and get it delivered at our doorstep. The fame of these new consoles has formed a new trend in video game rentals across our nation.

It is really not possible for all of us to purchase every game that is released. We can enjoy the game at a fraction of the real price. When we get bored with the game we can return it back. The best part is we do not have to pay any late fee and keep it as long as we want.

There are some titles that you end up finishing within a few hours to a few days worth of play and never receive any true sense of enjoyment or accomplishment from the game. For this reason alone, video game rental is becoming an increasingly popular way for gamers to test out their most sought after game before shelling out hundreds of dollars on a game that doesn't make it past its first few hours.

Being a gamer can be expensive at times if you are paying full price for multiple games a month. Some games cost more than $50 and if it is a highly anticipated release, some will pay inflated amounts of money just to be part of the first to play this specific title. The biggest disappointment is when the game is a complete flop. You can always resell it for a few dollars, but you never recoup the loss of the first purchase.

It is very pocket friendly. If you go to a store to purchase a game, you can easily spend $50 or more. You will pay $50 for a game which you are not sure will satisfy your gaming needs. However, you can rent the same game online for very less.

Burning Xbox asked:

Is Burning Xbox 360 Games Illegal?

People are sometimes afraid to copy Xbox 360 games because they think this is an infraction. While the fact that licensed games are not to be sold as illegal cracked or hacked copies is true, the simple fact that you are copying and burning Xbox 360 games you have bought for yourself is not a breach. Game producers allow users to create as many backup copies as they wish, all for their personal use. The problem is that Xbox games are protected to avoid piracy.

This usually means that you won't be able to backup your games using your DVD creator sofware. You might be able to create a copy of the game disk without problems. But you will notice that the copied disk is not working because Xbox shows only a black screen when you try to play it. Xbox will think this a pirated game and not a legal backup. The problem here is that the available burning software is not capable of copying the digital recognition license to the new disk.

But don't give up just yet: the truth is that there are several new programs that make it possible copying and burning Xbox 360 games. As you may guess, these programs know how to transcribe onto copied disks the needed information.

So if your original game disk becomes unusable due to a scratch or something like that, you'll be safe because of this programs for copying and burning Xbox 360 games. One important info that you must retain is the fact that you can actually make backups of your games in a legal and safe way.

PS3 Games Online

Sonali Bose Sengupta asked:

Do you want to buy a game or prefer to save money by renting one? If the latter is your choice, you can opt for some online video game rental services that will deliver your favorite games at the doorstep. Though renting video games, especially PS3 games online is a new trend, it is catching up fast. The major reason for the craze to rent games online is the fact that out of the large variety of games that are released each month, very few people can purchase all the titles. For the majority of gamers, renting games online is the legal alternative.

As the Internet has simplified life by bringing almost everything within your reach, renting PS3 games online has become a cakewalk. All you need to do is to visit the website of the video game rental service provider of your choice, choose the titles offered by means of their online library and request the same to be delivered. You may consider these online video game rental service providers as an evolved version of VCR and DVD movie rental services operating in your locality. These days, you may even find some traditional video stores such as Blockbuster offering video games on rent to the home users.

Though you can rent PS3 games online from several video game rental service providers, Gamefly.com remain the preferred choice of most of the avid gamers. Having a huge online library of 6000 titles that cover all platforms and include PS2, Xbox, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS and GBA GameCube, Wii and other popular titles, Gamefly.com reigns supreme in the field of online game rental services.

If you have decided to rent PS3 games online, you may select from the following games that are highly admired by the gamers:

Metal Gear Solid 4: If you have ever cherished a game packed with action, a stealth game or a shooter, this is the perfect match for you. With a well-designed online mode, more than 70 weapons as well as unlockable rewards, this classic stealth-shooter game will impress you with its outstanding graphics and a detailed plot.

Grand Theft Auto 4: With installations that increase the rate of loading screens together with superior quality graphics, this game is ideal for those gamers who would love to bang their fire trucks into dirt bikes.

Uncharted-Drake's Fortune: With captivating level designs, lush panoramic view of the forest and swashbuckling action that would even make the treasure-hunt of Lara Croft or Indiana Jones appear to be a child’s play, this game of Nathan Drake's adventure is a must-buy item.

You may even wait a little longer to rent some forthcoming Playstation3 games such as The Agency (where the players can pose as secret agents), Killzone2 (which allows the gamer to play the role of a sci-fi shooter), God of War III (drawing its inspiration from Greek mythology), inFamous (an action title belonging to the sandbox class) or MAG: Massive Action Game (a multiplayer shooter game that permits 256 players to participate at the same time).

So, rent PS3 games online according to your preference and have fun while playing them.

William Fencedoors asked:

I have personally experienced the Xbox 360 "General Hardware Failure" or what is better known as the Red Ring of Death. So, I have a pretty good idea what you are feeling right about now. In addition, I have used Xbox 360 repair guides to fix numerous consoles. The following list was developed from experience and is written to prevent you from wasting your money.

What should you look for in a Xbox 360 repair guide? Here is my minimum list of demands, and I do mean demands! I, absolutely, would have to have these things before I bought an Xbox 360 repair guide and I strongly suggest that you not settle for anything less either.

1. First, I try to get an indication about the authors. I look to see if whoever put this thing together knows what they are talking about. Are they an expert? Have they actually repaired an Xbox 360 successfully? So my number one criteria is that the author needs to be an experienced, successful, expert.

2. Does the Xbox 360 repair guide contain detailed, written step by step instructions with pictures? I am the type of person who doesn't want to leave anything up to chance. If you are going to teach me how to do anything, you need to explain each step carefully. Also, I want as many pictures as possible. And not just lots of pictures, but high quality detailed pictures. So, the guide you purchase needs to contain high quality, detailed, written, step by step instructions with lots of pictures.

3. Does the guide include videos? I am a visual learner and videos really help me. If the Xbox 360 repair guide contains videos, this is a bonus for me. But the videos could have been shot with a cell phone. So, the question really is, does it have high quality videos? The guide you select needs to include high quality videos that show every step clearly and compliment the written instructions.

4. What if I have questions? Does the guide come with support? The Xbox 360's manufacturer spans more than a couple of years now and not every Xbox 360 is the same. So, I want to be able to ask somebody a question if I get stuck. You need some kind of support. It could be chat, email, whatever, but, you need to be able to talk to someone and ask them a question.

5. How is the guide available? I need it now so I can fix my Xbox 360 right now! The most instantaneous method would be down loadable pdf instructions with access to the videos on line. The guide you purchase has to allow for instantaneous access immediately after you plunk down your cash.

6. Is there a guarantee? What if it doesn't work? Can I get my money back. I have to be able to get my money back for any reason. You need a 100% unconditional money back guarantee. Do not settle for less!

7. Incentives. If I buy this guide are there any extras? Does the guide provide for a forum? Any money back? Coupons? I want the most I can get for my money. I don't have to have this one, so I guess it isn't a demand, but it certainly would help me to make my decision. If all things are equal and one guide has a better bonus, I would go with the bonus. Look for a bonus.

So, there you have it, six, possibly seven criteria that are the bare minimum requirements you should settle for in an Xbox 360 repair guide. There are quite a few repair guides on the market so try to do a side by side comparison of all the features that they proclaim. Make the most informed decision that you can. I know you are in a hurry, but take a little time and comparison shop. You will be glad you did. Good luck and I hope you get back to gaming soon.

Marc South asked:

If you’ve owned an Xbox 360 for any length of time or know someone who has, then you are probably aware of the dreaded “three flashing red lights of death.” What are the “three flashing red lights of death?” They are when three of the four lights around the power button for the Xbox 360 start flashing red when the system is turned on. This isn’t the only problem that can occur with the Xbox 360, but this problem is one that often requires repair work to be done on the Xbox 360 in order for the blinking red lights to go away.

The Xbox 360 three flashing red lights of death is an indication by the Xbox 360 unit of a General Hardware Failure. Turning the system on and off or allowing the unit to cool down will not eliminate the problem. The system will need to have repairs done. Microsoft support is able to perform these repairs, but there are some issues regarding this. First, in order for Microsoft to repair the Xbox 360, the unit must be shipped to them. This process alone can take a few weeks and depending on the severity of the problem can cost around $150 to have the problem fixed. So after a few weeks and close to $150 you get your Xbox 360 system back and hopefully it is repaired. Hopefully meaning Microsoft was able to fix the issue and the system was returned without being damaged again in transit. Click Here

The other solution is to try to fix the three flashing red lights issue yourself. To do this you need to pickup the Xbox 360 Red Lights Repair Guide. This guide offers step-by-step instructions on how to easily fix the “three flashing red lights of death” as well as other Xbox 360 issues like overheating, graphics errors, and freeze ups. Many people have reported using the Red Lights Repair Guide and getting their Xbox 360 back in working order in around an hour. Certainly faster than the turnaround from Microsoft and much cheaper ($25). Click Here

While the Xbox 360 Three Flashing Red Lights is a showstopper for any Xbox 360 player, it’s a problem that can be quickly and easily resolved using the proper guide and tools. Instead of waiting 2 or more weeks for the Xbox 360 to return from Microsoft, a 360 player can perform the repairs themselves and get back into gaming.

Microsoft has tried to catch up with some of the titans of the gaming world, such as Sony with the release of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 offers many new features that players will love:

Free limited subscription to online gaming – This allows players who have not been participating in online gaming a chance to see what is available at no charge. All Xbox 360s come with Live-aware – This means you can get a friend invite or see who is online and what they are playing from your Xbox 360. The button in the middle of the controller makes all this very easy.

It offers great media features including listening to music while you play games, the ability to create custom playlists and your own custom soundtracks, the ability to rip songs from original CDs to your Xbox 360 and stream music from your MP3 player to your Xbox 360. You can also create slideshows of photos to share with friends and family. Xbox 360 has a wireless controller. No more tripping over the wires, although it can support two wired controllers through USB ports in the front. The game console is not only great for gamers, but developers as well. It is a powerful machine with an unprecedented amount of RAM – a feature added on the request of developers.

But, Xbox 360 still has some problems that need to be worked out:

Their Japanese third party support is lacking – While some Japanese developers offer software for the Xbox, it is small in number when compared to what the same developers offer for Playstation. While the controller is wireless, it eats batteries rather quickly. Standard alkaline batteries only last about thirty hours, so if you buy Xbox 360, invest in rechargeable batteries to save yourself some money in the end. When they were set up in WalMart stores before days before the launch, many suffered what is known as the Xbox "360 screen of death," an error screen. The Xbox 360 had also had some problems with overheating. Some report the Xbox 360 system as being very noisy when playing an Xbox 360 disc.

Many people are eagerly awaiting the release of Playstation 3, which may occur as soon as November of this year. It has been said that the Playstation 3 has an outward feel (which allows it to stand vertically or horizontally on its own), as opposed to the Xbox 360's inward feel. It is a much larger console than the Playstation 2 and closer to the original size of the Xbox. Game discs slide into the console like CDs slide into a car player.

Here are a few attractive features of the Playstation 3:

It is always on, so you can access your Playstation 3 from anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection. With a Playstation Portable, you can connect to your Playstation 3 and transfer media such as music and movies. The Playstation 3 appears to be much more powerful than that Xbox 360, Ninetindo Revolution, and Playstation 2. Initial reports say it will be twice as fast as the Xbox 360. Developers and publishers of over 230 games have announced titles for Playstation 3 games.

Here are a few reported cons and problems with the Playstation 360:

Comes with only 256 MB, less than the 512 MB the Xbox 360 will come with. Their Playstation Network Platform (the online service) is still in development and may not be ready by the time Playstation 3 is released.

The launch of the Playstation 3 has already been delayed due to disk problems.

Both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are incredible gaming consoles. It seems that although the Xbox 360 came out first, the best bet is still the Playstation 3. The strongest point of the Xbox 360 is its online functionality, but Sony may be working on something similar to Xbox Live right now. However, Microsoft is closing the gap with Xbox 360 and probably will eventually catch up with Sony in gaming consoles. For some users, it may come down to something as simple as which one is more compatible with the games they already own.

There is a place near me that rents out their Xbox 360's and games for them. They charge 10 dollars an hour and offer a pretty good selection of titles. My question: Is renting video games and/or consoles to play them on, legal? If so what are the legal requirements that must be met for such a business?

I recently bought an Xbox 360 Arcade with Halo 3. I've gone over many websites trying to find differences between it and a normal 20Gb Xbox 360, or is that just it. If that is the case, then will it play Xbox original games if I buy a 20Gb memory for it? Any answers would be greatly received.

I just got my xbox 360 back after waiting five weeks, and I was wondering what do they really do to your 360 when you get the red rings of death? That, and why does it take so long for you to get it back? Doesn't it only take about 2 hours to fix it(atleast thats what I heard). I also live in Arizona, which isn't that far from Texas.

The Xbox 360 3 red lights are a serious problem that over 500,000 people are facing with. The worst thing about Xbox 360 3 red lights is that the problem won't go away (i.e. your system will keep getting the red ring of death until you fix it).

Before you do anything to fix Xbox 360 3 red lights, DON'T DO THIS

• Do not try to fix your Xbox 360 3 red lights by wrapping your system in a towel or heating it with a hair dryer. Both of these "Xbox 360 repairs" are said to fix the red ring of death but this is not really true.

• While it is possible to temporarily get your system working again using these methods, the fix will not be permanent and the problem will get worse. As you will see in a moment, the whole cause of Xbox 360 3 red lights is heat.

• Be warned: right now there is about a 94% chance that your Xbox 360 doesn't need new parts to be fixed. Just a little tweak is all you will need. However, if you use those bogus Xbox 360 repair methods you will risk turning a temporary problem into a permanent; one where you will need to order new parts.

What is the cause of Xbox 360 3 red lights? Why is my Xbox 360 constantly freezing?

As mentioned above, the cause is heat. As the motherboard heats up, it begins to vibrate. These vibrations cause a loosening of the GPU (graphics processing unit). Once the GPU comes loose enough, your game freezes and you have the infamous Xbox 360 3 red lights.

You can see now, that any "fix" involving heat will only make the problem worse. To actually fix your Xbox 360 3 red lights, you will need to take your system apart, and put a spacer between the motherboard and the heat sink (the cooler). This spacer could be a washer, and it will allow the motherboard to "breathe" when it heats up.

So how do I fix my Xbox 360 red lights once and for all?

The whole issue is stopping the GPU from coming loose. This is not a complicated process but you will need to take your system apart and put the washer in between the motherboard and heat sink carefully.

You don't need advanced technical skills or special tools to perform a simple Xbox 360 repair. But, unless you are very technical, you will need the help of a professional Xbox 360 repair guide. For best results, you will want to get a guide that has video instruction; then it's just a simple matter of following along.

Xbox 360 repair only takes about an hour, and it doesn't require advanced tools or skills. Just do it right once, and you will never have to worry about getting those darn red lights again.

Best of luck with your Xbox 360 3 red lights repair.

Whenever we turn on the Xbox 360, it automatically signs into someone's gamertag. However, my brother's friend came over and made a gamertag, and now it always logs into that guy's gamertag when the Xbox is turned on. Is there any way to alter who's gamertag the 360 starts on when it's turned on, or ideally how would we get it to start up so that it's not logged into anyone's gamertag initially?

Xbox 360 Elite, which is the flagship of the 360 console. Not only will I tell you why I think it is the best, but I'll tell you the cheapest place you can get it.

Video gaming was revolutionized with the creation of the Xbox 360 thanks to a team of developers working hard to combine the right technology at the right price. Who would have ever thought we could live without HD video gaming and 5.1 Surround Sound with which you can hear every single little nuance of a game's audio environment.

The Xbox 360 looks so good on an HD TV that I've often had friends ask me what game was on when I was playing Madden. They literally thought that I was watching a real sporting event when I was actually playing the Xbox. This system is so smooth that there are never any glitches or freezing unlike other gaming systems.

The Xbox 360 Elite boasts a huge hard drive of 120GB, which is capable of storing an endless amount of game demos, videos, skins, and music all without you needing to save space for your saved games. It also comes with a black matte finish wireless controller, which means no more of the dog tripping on the controller and yanking it out of your hand during a boss battle.

You can also use it to your advantage to play from anywhere the wireless connection will reach. As if you needed any more reason to buy the Xbox 360 Elite, it also comes with a black matte finish headset so you can talk to your friends online via Xbox Live as you dominate them in a first person shooter like Call of Duty 4 or in a FIFA 2009 match. The system also comes with an HDMI port and cable so you can take full advantage of the HD resolution that the Xbox 360 offers.

The games for the 360 are the best on the market and you can find the most variety of any game system thanks to the fact that this was the first modern gaming console released on the market. Game developers have been spending years perfecting the design and implementation of their games on the Xbox 360. As a result, you 've got the best graphics, sounds, and game play on the market. When I say that the Xbox 360 is a cutting edge console gaming system, I am not joking!

The Xbox 360 Elite also features a Windows Live software setup that allows you to stream audio and video from your home PC or laptop meaning that the Xbox 360 functions as a home entertainment system as well. You don't need a DVD player anymore either, since this bad boy can do it all on its own. The prices of Xbox 360 are as cheap as they've ever been and now is the perfect time to get one so that you can start enjoying high definition, crisp gaming that is the best on the planet.

The 360 Elite is the best of the best and there is no way you could get bored with this system.

Have you ever concerned about the greatest fear one may have when using Xbox 360? Shoot your question to any Xbox 360 owner, you will experience receiving a stereotype answers. The terror might situate in the sight of a dreaded flashing red lights: Red Ring of Death (RRoD). Xbox 360 owners experience this cold blood run in their veins throughout its expiry. The Red Ring of death (lights) flashing on the front part of an Xbox 360 indicates a major trouble which makes the system go off the play.

The "Red Ring of Death" of an Xbox 360 system is unfortunately a bad sign, no matter how you will cut the cake. But there are certain issues that can be investigated and troubleshoot from the comfort of being present at home. The Xbox 360 front panel display is partitioned to four separate quadrants. Each quadrant of display turning red indicates a specific problem.

Before calling your service centre, you must make sure to switch off your Xbox 360 system and replace the cables to check. The supporter may remove your hard drive and may investigate to review your problem. As each quadrant is responsible for showing some sort of operational status, the Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death make the lights in three of the quadrants glow. If all of the lights in Xbox 360 flash, then it represents some general hardware failure that has occurred in your Xbox 360. This may be repaired by reattaching the cables after switching it off. When you see the Red Ring of Death (RRoD) glowing in your second quadrant, it indicates the over usage of Xbox 360. This happens when the kit gets overheated. The only proposed troubleshooter tip is to switch it off and make it sit idle to be cooled down.

The Red Ring of Death (RRoD) of Xbox 360 glowing on the third quadrant is diagnosed as a severe hardware failure. Try reinstalling all the cords that move up and down to the Xbox 360, and check for pin alignment. But don't screw yourself up with this problem, since this needs to be checked by a service centre if it doesn't turn back after single reboot.

So, What if the Red Ring of Death (RRoD) present in all the four quadrants? This is easiest problem to fix than others in Xbox 360. This is a simple issue present within the AV cable for not being properly inserted to your Xbox 360. Check the back of the console and try replacing the cord until you hear a 'click' sound to ensure the lock of the AV cord.

Bill Elliot asked:

Wii was launched with the code name of Nintendo “Revolution” and changed the outlook of people towards video games. From being a passive action, gaming suddenly became a pastime activity that was not only interactive but could also be enjoyed along with family members and friends.

Since 2006 when the Wii console was released, people had found it extremely difficult to get hold of the Wii. Yet, all around the world, over 20 million units of Nintendo were sold. Some people thanked their stars as they were able to get hold of the allusive system. However, most needed to either have a know how of the shipment dates from an insider or ask someone who was an employee of a retail store that stocked the Wii’s.

Wii – a component of the seventh generation of gaming consoles is different from the other consoles like Xbox 360 and PS3 not only in concept and design, but also in potential and performance. However, purchasing a Wii may deter some of the avid gamers due to the price tag. So, if you want to enjoy playing these games, you may consider the option to rent Wii games.
