Alright, I'm in a video game graphics designing coarse and we have to find out what games will sell best for our final project. I don't know what types of games are the most popular though. I know the Final Fantasy RPG's are one of the most popular, but also there are people out there who like puzzle games and stuff. How would I be able to make a popular game?

well you can make a game on which a player can play in 1st and 3rd person and make it like a raceing with shooting where u can get out and explore the map and in order to get into certin places you acn make a puzzle out of it just be creative

To make a popular game I suppose first you really need to know what type of person your targeting your product too. Have alook in stores what is the majority game genre there is. Is it RPG’s, First Person Shooters? what? Also, with online games, are people willing to pay a monthly fee? like World of Warcraft or play for free and have in-game hidden catches where you can decide if you want to buy extra special items for your character, like in Perfect World & Rappelz.
Does the game even have to be a good game, maybe people are looking for high quality graphics. who knows. It’s hard to say what would make a popular game. Guess maybe look at the popular games and figure out what made them so popular.
In saying that look for websites that have game reviews and such. See what people have to say about a certain game.

bioshock and all other games like those everyone likes those tipes of games.
its hard to say whats most popular,i can go from oblivion and morrowind to any of the gta series or play myst for hours on end.sorry this probably didn’t help.good luck in your search and in making a killer game.
